  1. McBain has been a good servant to the club, but I would expect that any new contract offered is not a long one.
  2. What was Scotland's low point, was it about 70th? There can't be many teams who have risen so far so quickly. (Or who had fallen so rapidly in the first place) I think Craigie Broon briefly had us in the top 20.
  3. We have so many options in midfield now that there's just not enough space for them all. Hart and Morgan seem to be bottom of the pecking order at the moment, but we have seen examples before of players regaining first team places when at one stage they seemed surplus to requirements.
  4. Got one, but there's no room for the car!
  5. My current Focus has a heated windscreen, and having had one I wouldn't want to go through those winter mornings without one. I'm thinking of replacing the car soon, but no other make seem to offer this feature. Can anyone advise?
  6. This might sound an odd question, but did we actually play as well as we did against Hearts?
  7. Leighton?!
  8. If it hit the defender's head and bounced back into the net would it be the same outcome as above, or would the advantage rule allow the goal to stand?
  9. Great guy, very entertaining. He taught us that snakes and crocodiles do not deserve their reputation as loathesome, evil creatures. (ITS THE F*CKING STINGRAYS YOU SHOULD WORRY ABOUT!) TV legend, will be missed.
  10. Whichever, it is good news that he has decided to extend his stay. I admire him for doing so when it was evident that he could have increased his earnings significantly by getting a move. However, his new contract will almost certainly contain an escape clause for him if a specified transfer fee is offered. As a result I don't expect him to see out all of this new contract, but at least the club should get a reasonable fee if he moves on.
  11. Gilberto Silva.
  12. He had good scoring records at Dundee Utd, Hearts and Killie. It's only his County spell that has been a flop. The easy conclusion is that he is past it, but I'm sure he will be trying his hardest to show that he has something to offer. Clearly he was quite far down Charlie's list of targets, but on a short term deal/trial basis at a time when we have injury problems upfront he is better than nothing.
  13. Well IHE's predictions came up with every name but McSwegan. What went wrong?!
  14. It would have been good to sign a couple of decent players, but surely the best thing about this transfer window is that we kept hold of Black, Dods, Dargo, Brown etc.
  15. Club's official site quotes Charlie as saying not signed yet, hoping to get signed this weekend.... :008:
  16. Can that source be trusted?! Great news if true. :003:

    Ian Black

I think it's intended to put off predators.
  18. Might just be the minimum £250 share purchase!

    CIS Cup Draw

Uninspiring but winnable. I'll settle for that.
  20. Dods has now said he is going to see out his contract, but I suppose you never know for sure until the window closes. The bigger alarm bell for me is the failure of Black to sign the contract extension that was meant to get announced last week, and the week before etc. I suspect he is waiting to see if anything develops this week.
  21. Good news that he has accepted that he is seeing out his contract. Gives us all season to find a replacement.
  22. The final score is harsh, this was the best football we have played for a long time, we just didn't take our chances and they did. The midfield were EXCELLENT, with some superb spells of slick passing. It was the defence that let us down, and it's a long since you could say that. Hastings and Tokely had poor games (although putting Duncan on at right back just made things worse). As usual Bayne gave 100%, and as usual McAllister was a headless chicken. Dargo and (for 50 minutes) Wyness were missed. Very entertaining match, and a great performance from Black, closely followed by the other midfielders. There is plenty to be optimistic about despite the result.

    Leon Morgan

Ian Broadfoot's book lists every player ever to have played for the club up to 2004, and he ain't one of them. Don't recall him in the last 2 years either. Maybe he once trained with the club for a few days? Or his CV was embellished to help him get a club?!

    Leon Morgan

    Never heard of him!
  25. With a Tesco arrangement the club would definitely sell more tops, but might make less money overall.
