If he'd written "Annan to draw with whoever @ 3.1 - ?10" on a betting slip then he would have to be given the price it really was (3.6), as the selection, stake and terms of the bet are clearly stated, had he just written "Annan @3.6" then the bet would be ambiguous and voided if he disputed not being paid out on the draw, despite claiming that was the bet intended and even if the odds asked for were available on the X. Infact nowadays writing any price on a betting slip is pointless for any reason other than being able to work out yourself what the payout will be should it win, the pricing of CD's bet is not within a range that could easily be put down to palpable error (ie. putting 1.3 as the odds rather than 3.1) but as the terms and stake are perfectly clear, then he has to be paid out at 3.6 (just as if he had written 1.3 or 6.3).
As of September 07, all payouts and stakes owed to bookamkers offering a credit service are now legally enforceable in court, if the bet was taken 'in good faith' and the outcome required for a payout is clearly stated. The phrase 'in good faith' when used by bookies is a bit outdated because of course everything can be sorted out in court, whereas before it was mutual gentleman's agreement that punters would get anything back at all!
As far as I'm concerned CaleyD is getting his extra points as his intention to bet on Annan to draw is perfectly clear.
Like in any bookamkers humans make mistakes, but its not as if the payouts or bets placed are a secret in this one, if anybody has a dispute then they can take it up with everybody else whenever they wish. If I've added extra points to anybodies totals then please point them out folks..!
I'm happy to let Joe do it every week if he can be arsed, Reef you can do it too if you want, I did say at the top of this topic that if anyone wants to add the scores up week to week then stick the table here and I'll move it up top.
While youre at it Reef, why dont you ask Joe or myself to give you a few extra points too, so you dont come second in the who can lose the least money game youve got going on the side?
