  1. I saw him play in the game against Buckie and I thought he was pretty solid. Didn't put a foot wrong and seemed reliable. He looks a bit like Aldred, and I thought it was Aldred being played at right back for an experiment. I even shouted out 'well done Tom' after a good tackle. Luckily they share the same name! If he's signed, I'd imagine for Well we will have a back four of Piemayr, Aldred, Rossco, Gillet. That's a very good defence.
  2. Wasn't Scotty Davies - it was Scotty Bevan! Too much Bath cider!
  3. Does your train go direct from Edinburgh or are coming to Central first?
  4. Oh dear. I'm a ***... I just emailed the Red Lion a thank you message, with references to Joe and Craig Levein lol
  5. I'm much more excited about our new signings such as Tansey, Meekings, Aldred, Doran etc than some of the pi5h St Mirren have signed and of course Barrowman for the Pars. Young guys that no team in the SPL wll really no about. This makes them almost uniquely ICT players rather than going for old guard that have been at various clubs. Of course though, the squad is extremely thin so we do need a couple more bodies.
  6. The usual Central Station at 11am for me.
  7. It was that big ugly git. but it wasn't Terry that said it. Although how IHE, Capital Caley, Mrs Dude and yerself remember anything that was said yesterday, is beyond me ! It wasn't Terry? Oh well i take that back! Another rumour then lol
  8. Here's my view on the game. First half was dreadful. Proctor was at fault for the goal i'm afraid. We were looking disjointed and neve looked like scoring. Hayes ran a lot but never got much of the ball. Doran looked uninterested. Not much running from him and a very under par performance. Second half was better. Got the ball passing a bit more and I think we deserved the equaliser. We could have won it at the end if it wasn't for a double save from the keeper. Stand out performances were from Tom 'The Tank' Aldred, Morrison, and Tansey. Aldred looks solid at the back and Tanseys passing is excellent. (Same at Bristol game as well). There was a grand total of 11 ICT fans at the game. About 20ish at Bristol. After the game, for some reason the players didn't do a cool down (unless they stretched in the dressing room?!) I thought this was very odd. Aldershot made 8 substitutions to our 3 and they played a lot of trialists. At our stage of pre season compared to Shots, we really should have beaten them. The supporters of Aldershot were some of the friendliest i've met. The amount of fans that approached us / shake hands etc was fantastic. The bar at the stadium was very good and again the fans were very welcoming. Myself, IHE and Dewsbury did manage to go into the wrong bar on the Friday night where I unwittingly made 'friends' with members of their hooligan element, but luckily didn't see them again. They weren't too keen on my accent apparantly! A pub caled the Red Lion owned by an Aldershot legend was where we based ourself most of the time and what a buzz at about midnight on Saturday night having about 30 locals singing O2B with us whilst dancing on tables and chairs and then falling off tables and chairs. Of course we sang one of their songs as well. Terry was telling us after the game about 2 trialists this week and also echoing Forans comments in the press that we have to be patient. IMO Some of the signings are great and will do well for the club. They are all quite skilfull and it looks like he's trying to create on the deck passing / flowing footbal. IMO Aldred is just as good as Munro as a centre half, but possibly more skill full. They are no where near their potential yet and when they do click / mature I think we are going to see a team that will play wonderfull football. They need to click soon though as the performances are not up to standard. i'm really encouraged by these new signings and if we are patient (and we have to be) we will have one hell of a team. Oh and Novo didn't get a touch of the ball.
  9. Will have to buy my drink in Bristol since I have to travel as light as possible on the plane, or get some Easy Jet surprise charges. I'm sure there will be something I still need to pay for. See you tomorrow! p.s. we need to find a karaoke bar for myself and Govan Jaggie
  10. TB used him as a centre half for all of last season so i cant see him reverting back to RB any time soon. Can see Tokely becoming a Davie Weir like player, centre half stalwart for a good few years to come I am just pointing out your, we have no RB at the club... Your right, Tokely isn't a right back, but he can play there and has played many times there and done a good job. He played right back a few times last season.
  11. At right back we have Tokely "Don't you wish yer right back was Ross Tokely...Dont Cha!" For centre back we have Aldred who I really rate and although we only have The Tank for 6 months, from what I have seen of him so far, he looks really good and solid. Left back, we have Gillet, who I think had some decent performance towards the end of last season. Some very good players in there, but that's only 3! We need more bodies. Not too sure about Meekings yet. Of course we have Proctor, who I think does an excellent job at left back in the changing room!
  12. The season hasn't kicked off yet and already the SPL are playing silly buggers!
  13. It's probably too early to be uploading the Private Fraser 'we're doomed' clips but I am seriously worried. I do admire Terrys plan of using youth and presumably moulding these guys for the future, long term that's great, but not if it gets us relegated this season!!! I'm sure there will be more developments before the start of the season. If we're all saying we need more players, i'm sure Terry and Mo have figured that out as well! I'm sure they will still be on the hunt and hopefully it will all be in place for the Motherwell game. I'm expecting us to lose in England which is a bad advert for the SPL, but hopefully it will be good work outs for them. I am looking forward to the England trip but if we do perform badly it will be a bit embarrassing speaking to the locals afterwards, however, Motherwell Away is when it all matters though.
  14. Watching that seemed even worse than seeing it in person. I forgot just how many chances Livi had! All hail Tuffey!
  15. Why did she hold the ball in the first place?!
  16. I was quite happy with my free ticket for the game! Glad I didn't have to pay to watch that yesterday!
  17. I'll wear my Highland March t-shirt for the pub crawl!
  18. Good on him, I think he played quite well yesterday against us.
  19. I was going to buy a pie until i saw what they gave you! Was dire game. We were poor and disjointed. However, it was a good work out for the team as Livi looked up for it. Tuffey pulled off a few good saves towards the end and we were probably lucky with the draw. We did not look threatening at all and the only real chance I can remember was our goal. Even then, it was very controversal. The lines man put his flag up for offside (wrongly IMO) the Livi players all stopped, but the referee disagreed with the linesman and let the game play on. Richie simply strolled towards goal while the Livi players were looking at the linesman! As previosuly said, I think Aldred (The Tank) was very good. Composed and showing good leadership skills. Nick Ross had an ok game I think, but other than that everything was just drab. If that team was to start an SPL game, we would be in trouble. I hope we get another striker in asap. Oh and I forgot how much of an erse the stadium announcer is!
  20. Change of plan for the Glasgow guys. Now leaving from Queen Street Station, 11.24 train. The day starts off in the Counting House round the corner from Queen Street at 10am.. Breakfast and a pint. Glad the new season is upon us!
  21. Is there anyone still undecided about the England tour? I know of 10 people (most of them on this site) off the top of my head that will be at Bristol. Anyone still undecided? There's flights from Sneck, Glasgow and Edinburgh the morning of the game. Not as many folk going to Aldershot though.
  22. Send me your number and i'll text you the scores..... If I remember! As IHE said, it can be a bit difficult at times. This is on one condition.... no more moaning about your dots!!! Not long now! Anyone else wearing kilts? Myself, Govan Jaggie, IHE are confirmed kilt wearers..... who else?
  23. I'm thinking an early one - just like a proper match! lol. Breakfast at the Sir John Moore (Spoons) at 10, then off to the Arrol for a few before the train trip. I'll text you nearer saturday to confirm times.
  24. Plenty of info for us on the Rovers forum for our itinerary in Bristol / Bath. http://www.brfcforum.co.uk/index.php?/topic/97824-inverness-game-14th-july/
  25. I'm looking forward to this one. Been to Almondvale many times and although we've had a lot of defeats there, I still enjoy going there. Heading from Central Station with some of the Glasgow guys. Who else is going?............ And before anyone mentions, i realise the big spelling mistake in the title! Can't seem to chamge it! Will just have to live with that for a week!
