I think Caff should be given the role for the rest of the season so that he can establish himself again. It will also give CC a chance to see how he does over a few games, so that he can decide if he needs to look for a Dods replacement in the summer. Having said that though, Dods has been a great player for us, and although it is a shame for him to end his career with us in this way, we must think of the future.

Great result in difficult circumstances, just what we needed to build confidence for a good end of season run to secure 7th spot. A repeat of last year's final 5 games will do nicely!

I agree with Scotty. Terry Butcher did a good job with Motherwell. Don't know what went wrong in Sydney, but I would think he will land another decent job soon enough. I wouldn't have minded seeing him as No 1 at ICT with CC as his deputy, but perhaps it is better not to open up this old chestnut again.

Kencar What sort of maths is that? Even excluding OF/Dons, I thought our lowest home gate was still 3000+, so it would take some doing for average to be 1000 or less!!!

CB Interesting that you mentioned the 'nearly man', Tom McKenzie in your list of provosts. Had Tom got the top job, that would have been another provost lamppost outside a council house, as Tom lived in Hilton (Druid Rd I think). A fine man he was too, I remember him coming to the house every week to visit my elderly mother in her final years. This, on top of all his hospital visiting, not to mention the umpteen council activities he was always involved in. I don't think he ever missed a week, but maybe it was the cup of tea and scones that were the attraction.
