  2. Also, just noticed, in National League, Liam Hughes scored last night (13 Sep) for Barrow, in a 4-1 away win at Southport
  3. Tobi Sho-Silva scored for Bromley tonight (13 Sep) in 2-0 away win at Maidstone
  4. Just watched the full Alba highlights on catch up. Not a bad performance at all. Yes, Aberdeen had most of the possession, and there were a few worrying moments towards the end, but generally our defence coped well. We looked dangerous on occasions going forward, more direct than Aberdeen, and the equaliser was a thing of beauty, and well deserved. Draper immense again. Roll on the first of the ugly sisters next week. I think its time we gave them another spanking. Onwards and upwards
  5. Well done bauhaus, I missed that one.

  7. I'll take that. Good away point. Looking forward to seeing posts from those at the game to see how everyone played.
  8. The 'singing' section seem to be much livlier at away matches. I don't get to many home matches but I did sit in the North stand for the St Johnstone game and there was hardly a peep out of them the whole game, except for a bit of a conga when we got the injury time winner. At away matches, however, they seem to chant and sing the whole game, which must be a great boost to the players.
  9. Aiden Chippendale scored a rare goal, his first of 2016, for Stalybridge Celtic, tonight (6 Sep) in a 3-2 win over Gainsborough Trinity in National League North.
  10. My tuppenceworth. I would support option 2 whereby a poster could see who has given them green or red dots. Wasn't our system like this years ago? I'm not a 'red dotter', having only given a handful in over 10 years on this site, but I would guess the frequent users of 'red dots' might think twice if posters could see who had 'red dotted' them. Mods could easily see if someone was being unfairly picked on, and take whatever sanctions they felt appropriate. Alternatively, scrap them altogether (both green and red) and leave posters to reply to a post they strongly supported or disagreed with.
  11. Dani Sanchez scored another today (4 Sep) for his club, FC Jazz, in a 2-1 away win at Ekanas, in Finland.

  13. OK. touche! Or should that be Ok ouche? I can see CaleyD having a field day with this if others are as careless as I was.
  14. As several posters have indicated, this has been one of our better 'windows'. Really pleased that we managed to hold on to both Tansey and Draper. Either one (or woe betide, both of them going) would have been really damaging to the team and the fans. Great to see a young loanee in Cole agree to come north from a Championship side. I hope it proves to be a success both for him and us. As a midfielder though, who will he replace if he grabs a first team spot with us? Vigurs? A decision Ritchie will have to make very soon! I'm not that excited about Brad MacKay, but I guess we need cover at the back if we won't see McNaughton again. I actually thought Horner did well against St J, and no doubt Raven will be pushing hard to get back in the starting X1. So all in all, I've regained some optimism for this season, with the good performance against St j, and what seems to have been not too bad a 'window' Onwards and upwards.
  15. Wed 31 Aug 2016 Highland league Z Sutherland (Brora R 7 - Lossiemouth 0) M Finnis (2) (Fort William 0 - Clach 5) M Laing (Inverurie 2 - Huntly 1) Dafabet Welsh Premier J Oswell (Bangor 2 - Newtown 1)
  16. Tues 30 Aug 3 goals tonight in the Checkatrade Cup in England :- Billy Mckay with his first since going on loan to Oldham, in a 4-5 loss to Carlisle. Alex McDonald for Oxford Utd in a 4-2 win over Exeter Nauris Bulvitis with another for Plymouth (his 3rd in as many weeks), in a 4-1 win over Newport
  17. Just back from my trip up to Inverness. Very enjoyable match and a deserved win. Good to see Ritchie going for the winner late on by putting on 3 forwards, even though I thought Fisher had been quite good before he was subbed. Best for me was that my golfing chums I had in tow all thought that it was a good match and that the standard was better than they had expected. Hope that is the turning point for our league season and that we will now steadily climb to mid table or above.

  19. Thanks DC, I'll add him to my list.
  20. I've picked a fine time for my first live match of the season next Saturday. That formation, if it were to be adopted, will really impress the 5 English, golfing pals I'll have in tow with me. They are already ripping the p*** out of me over our bad start to the league campaign, so a negative, 'park the bus', approach will be just what my visitors want to see and enhance their opinion of Scottish football no end. Having said that, I think I'd put up with the personal insults I'll receive, and take a 0-0 draw right now!
