  1. Baird, maybe? But why have Falkirk let them go? They will be one of our main adversaries in the Championship, so if they are not good enough for them, why should they be good enough for us?
  2. Decent first half by Scotland, although England have created, and missed, the best chances. I have to go out now to a family event so will not see the second half 'live'. So good luck Scotland, keep pressing them. I'll be following with regular sneaky looks at my phone!. Btw, what a plonker Scott Brown is. Absolutely needless yellow within 3 minutes. I've always disliked him as an opponent of ICT, and even playing for Scotland, I can't 'take to him'. Absolute shyte imo.
  3. I think you'll find Burns coined that word before you
  4. Thought you'd like that ! Good luck in the final v Montreal.
  5. Well said Davie. Good to see someone 'in the know' sticking up for CaleyD. I'm sure all the hard work he put in, for no reward, is appreciated by many, if not all, of us. He will be a hard act to follow, even if the multitude of tasks he performed for ICT, might in the future fall under the responsibility of a paid employee.
  6. Maybe Championship is his level now. A good friend of mine is an avid, and regular, Blackpool fan and saw Black play for them a few times (mostly as a sub) in the few months he was with them recently. He was not impressed and was not surprised that he wasn't retained. I think too much water has passed under the bridge since the 4 years or so he was with us. He carries too much 'baggage' for my liking, is almost certainly going to run up enough yellow cards in a season to warrant a suspension, so, all in all, he wouldn't be for me.
  7. In Sweden this afternoon (3 June), Eddie Ofere scored his first goal for his current club, FC Rosengard, in a 3-2 defeat at Oskarshamns.
  8. I see Ian Black has been released by Blackpool. Wonder where he will end up next. Hope it is not with us. I think he is well past his best.
  9. Agree with that. That is why I never understood why Hughes would often play him at right back where he wasn't nearly as effective. Unless it was that Hughes had fallen out with Raven by then? But as central defenders, at their best, he and Warren were as good a combination as any in the league.
  10. What, no Derek Adams on the list?
  11. I don't suppose we will ever know the terms of his "compensation" package. Without meaning to sound to cruel, I hope the terms don't include "until he gets another job", as realistically, I don't see clubs rushing to give Richie another go as manager. But, I hope he gets a fair pay off, and, as others have said, I wish him well for the future.
  12. From watching Brechin, only on TV, in their play off final, I'd be inclined to give Darren Dods a go. But, whoever it is, I hope the new board is sensible enough NOT to award the new guy with a 4 year contract.
  13. Spot on. If he had intended to 'walk' he'd have done it ages ago. So, a good chunk of compensation will have been agreed I feel sure. Anyway, that is the end of a sorry chapter in our history. Let us hope that the glory days return soon.
  14. Today, May 28, Lonsano Doumbouya scored SKN St Polten's goal in a 2-1 defeat at Rapid Vienna, in the Austrian Bundesliga.
  15. My final word on Scottish Cup Final - Johnny Hayes and Stuart Armstrong were the best two players on the pitch.
  16. 27 May 2017 Scottish Cup Final S Armstrong (Celtic 2 - Aberdeen 1) J Hayes (Celtic 2 - Aberdeen 1)
  17. Great FA Cup Final today and richly deserved win for Arsenal, who could/should have scored 5 or 6. Two big calls by referee, both spot on imo. Firstly, overturning the linesman's offside decision for Arsenal's first goal, and secondly, being brave enough to give Moses a second yellow (and therefore a sending off) for his clear dive in the penalty box. A lot of referees could learn from this. Well done to the ref. They often take a lot of stick, but this one got the big decisions right.
  18. Wow, two ex ICT players on scoresheet already, after only 15 mins. And Rooney surprisingly only on bench!
  19. Good luck to Graeme Shinnie today in the Scottish Cup final. And, of course to our other ex ICT players who might feature in this match . Can Graeme create history by captaining two different clubs to victory within two years? I hope so. We also have some interest in tomorrow's English League 2 play off final at Wembley where Tom (the Tank) Aldred and Iain Black may both feature. Aldred has had another great season for Blackpool, but was injured in their last match and is not certain to make the final. For his sake, I hope he is OK for his day out at Wembley. Iain Black featured for the second half (and extra time) in Blackpool's last match v Luton. He actually conceded a penalty which could have been very costly, but for an injury time og by Luton which saw Blackpool sneak victory. I'm a bit torn knowing who I want to win this one. I've always considered Exeter to be my English team ever since a friend of mine, Steve Perryman (ex Spurs), became their Director of Football many, many years ago. But, a good golfing friend of 40 years standing is a mad keen Blackpool fan. I have also converted him into an ICT fan and he has accompanied me to a handful of matches in recent years, so I feel I owe him some loyalty. Pity they can't both be promoted!
  20. Yes, the silence since the new chairman's appointment is as 'loud' as before. Very disappointing. I feel that the longer it continues, the more likely that Foran will stay. Surely the time for action by the new man at the top was within a day or two of his appointment. As others have said, Foran continuing may affect ST sales, and I'm sure the recruitment of new players. Can't for the life of me figure out why Richie has not been booted. Must be down to the potential compensation package which his ridiculous 4 year contract attracts.
  21. It seems to be back up this morning (27 Mar), although, in my case, without a post or two which managed to get posted over the last two/three days when there were problems.
  22. I missed the North of Scotland cup final last week when Gavin Morrison scored one of Brora's goals in a 4-1 win over Fort William.
  23. Ryan Williams scored another for Ottawa Fury last night, in a 2-1 win over Toronto in a Canadian Championship semi final, 1st leg, match
  24. An extra £240 per year is a lot of money to many people, especially on top of season tickets or gate money. Not to mention travel costs etc. I think the only way this idea would work is if those donating got something in return. Shares in the club could be a possibility.
  25. If Richie had been intending to resign, I suspect he would have done it by now. I remember at the time of his appointment, many posters questioned the wisdom of granting a 4 year contract to a rookie manager. That I suspect is the problem the Board (or what is left of it) now has to surmount. Buying out his contract or agreeing an alternative compensation package is going to be costly. Money we don't have I suspect.
