  1. A few more goals would have been nice, but a good 3 points keeps us in touch with the leaders. Well done everybody.

  3. Well, I'm delighted with that win in what could easily have been another banana skin for us. Well done to Doran. I thought he was really poor against Aberdeen, and would have left him out today. Well done to Yogi too for sticking with him. Does my Gringo's prediction league no harm either! Onwards and upwards! I know all the other top 6 contenders also won today, but we can't control that, so as long as we have a nice wee run of wins now to balance the 3 defeats, we should be ok. Well done everybody.
  4. Just noticed these from 28 Dec. Bryan Prunty, two for Airdrieonians v Ayr Denis Wyness, one for Elgin at Montrose.

  6. Very disappointing. Did Brill have any saves to make? Their keeper, on the other hand, saved them a number of times. Created enough chances to win the game comfortably. I agree with those who say we left our subs until too late in the game. Doran offered nothing and should have been off shortly after half time. Watkins too never got into the game. December has been our undoing again. Lets hope we can pick up our winning ways again next Thursday.
  7. No reason why we can't win this. We have been far better since giving away that soft goal. Come on lads, you can do it.
  8. BBC are often clueless, but Talksport were no different in their preview earlier this morning, when they said that Aberdeen could go into second place with a win at Inverness! Not a mention of us being in exactly the same situation. Anyway, we often perform better as underdogs, so I'm optimistic for a good win today.

  11. 13 Dec. Also, Alex MacDonald scored twice for Burton Albion in EL2.
  12. ffs Wheels have fallen off big time. I blame myself, I just booked flights this morning to Glasgow for next round of Scottish Cup. Should have known better, Partick really seem to have our card marked these days. Come on ICT, prove me wrong with a stunning last half hour come back.

  14. Absolutely delighted with that win. It was the sort of game that could easily have slipped away from us after going a goal down. A great 3 points, against a useful team, keeps us in touch at the top. Well done to all concerned.
  15. Vital that we see this game out now, for a really good, fighting win
  16. Sounds like we're unlucky to be down at h/t. Well ahead on possession stats, as has been the case in most recent games. Draper unlucky early on, hitting the bar with keeper beaten. Let's hope for a good second half, converting possession into goals!
  17. I can see your point OCG but I don't believe one man makes a team. I really don't know how much he is worth but there is only one way to find out. Put him on the list and see if we get any offers. If we don't get any offers then so be it, the club can't be blamed for not trying. If we didn't have cover I would probably agree with you. I can also see a reason why he wouldn't want to leave in Jan because if your new club doesn't have to pay a transfer fee the player can negotiate a bigger signing on fee. Good deal for the player, poor deal for the club he is leaving. To use a Yogi quote: "Football evolves - if it's not you, it's somebody else" That is a statement I agree with and no man should be bigger than the club. Graeme has been a fantastic servant of the club for many years and I really hope he does what's best for himself because he does deserve a 'big break' The club could all well put Graeme on the transfer market but in truth the offers would fall well under the club's valuation of Graeme. Why would a team pay an excess amount of money when they could in truth get him for free in May - wouldn't make good business sense. It wouldn't be the first time that players coming to the end of their contract at the end of the season are sold in January. If a club really wants a player they will pay for him in January in order to stop other clubs getting in on the act when he is free to move. It doesn't make good business sense if we do NOT put him up for sale - we may not get any offers but we won't know if we don't try! I agree with caleyboy. Get what we can for him in January I say. ICT has always been very good at replacing our 'stars' who have gone on to pastures new. Have we really missed the likes of Black, Hayes or even Andrew Shinnie? If we are honest, the answer is probably 'no'. In this case, if Graeme goes, we have a ready made left back, in Tremarco, already on the books. OK, he may not be in Graeme's class going forward, but we won't really know until he gets a decent run in the first team. So, I say, use whatever fee we might get for Shinnie, to help finance extensions for some of the others whose contracts are coming up for renewal.

  21. I'm flying up for this one. Is there a usual watering hole pre match in Paisley? Or do you tend to meet in Glasgow?
  22. Yes, Bughtmaster, happy days indeed. Just one small point, Willie Donnachie played for Clach!! There is a photo on another thread of the Clach team which includes him. The Caley left winger was usually Ernie Fraser. Full Caley team from that era (1950/51ish) was usually :- Bruce McGillivray Maronski (spelling??) 'Stootie' Fraser took over at left back when Maronski returned to Poland! Bolt McKinnon McIntosh McBeth Jamieson Mitchell McKenzie Fraser I know its difficult to compare teams from different eras, but I don't ever remember a better Caley team. Glad to here that 'Stootie' Fraser is sill alive. I wonder how many others? The only one I was in touch with for a while was 'Ginger'/Donnie McKenzie. I visited him a couple of times in Winnepeg, but that is going back more years than I care to remember!
  23. I remember these Caley players well from my young days. No idea where 'Porridge' came from. 'Stootie' Fraser presumably because he carried a bit of weight? Also from that team was Frankie McBeth, called 'the Arab'. I'm not sure why. 'Ginger' and 'Joopy' were of course the stars of that side around the start of the 50s.
  24. Another excellent result, well done everybody. Particular plus points :- - winning a game immediately after international break, something that we haven't done that often. - again, turning good possession into goals. Stats indicated we had 20 shots! - from a selfish point of view I had a 3-1 win (and 1-1 at half time) in Gringo's prediction league! Lovely stuff. Let's hope for a good Cup run, starting at Paisley next week, as well.
