Inverness CT -V- Stranraer
Well done lads . But the highlight for me was this on the BBC live commentary: Lionel Messi has slotted Barcelona ahead from the penalty spot against 10-man Man City and Zlatan Ibrahimovic has scored twice as PSG lead 3-0 at Bayer Leverkusen. But could those guys control the ball in the Inverness mud like Ross Draper and James Vincent?

New 2 year deal for Vincent!
Molto grande! But it's not that I didn't expect this. Isn't it telling that nearly all first XI players with ending contracts extended AFTER Butcher left?

Inverness CT -V- Hearts
From the highlights it could easily have been something like a 5-2 final scoreline. Hey, even Bayern Munich used to have days like this!

County or Hibs?
I'd go for a 3-3 in straight red cards

What position can we improve?
We could definitely improve in all positions, but I'm not sure whether it's possible within our budget, and I'm certain that it wouldn't be players from the orcs. I'm more inclined to guys like: Neuer Lahm - J Boateng - Dante - Alaba Martinez - Schweinsteiger Ribery - Thiago - Robben Messi Subs: Cech, Mertesacker, T Muller, Gotze, T Kroos, Rafinha, C Ronaldo See what I mean?

Hearts -V- I.C.T.
None Alex. They would all have shouted for a red card and rightly so. One last word about Warren's dismissal: I thought he didn't foul until I saw a replay from behind the goal. There I could clearly see that he pulled the shirt. And that's a yellow, no matter how long or strongly. But I won't defend that ref any further.

Coverage of County game
Ok guys. I'm fed up with the megalomania and negativity of some posters here. I suggest they return to the Old Filth or try to get a season ticket at Barcelona or Bayern Munich. Or donate their millions of pounds to lure Mourinho or Guardiola to Inverness. That said, you won't read a lot from me for some time. I will still support and follow the team, but not on this forum. Hugh.

Ross Draper PUSH
True, but some actually do know them. I just don't know whether Crawford Allan is part of one or the other group...

Wrong. A penalty can only given for an offence that results in a direct free kick. Those offences are handball or involve direct contact with an opponent. Offences against match officials result in an indirect free kick, which will be the same in the box, just think of the keeper handling a back pass. However, a push against an official that results in a red card should see the match abandonded, at least according to the rules. In lower leagues it does.

Inverness CT -V- Celtic
Aye, and you can add to that the fact that Partick have only won 1 of their last 15 games. No prizes for guessing who it was against. Aye, in a game the ref stole us two goals which would have won the game or us.

Hang me, but I think the ref was correct not to award Watkins a penalty. Yes, he was pulled down, but he shoved and pulled the defender the same way, so the deeds cancelled each other out. He shouldn't have whistled off a clear advantage (good chance for a counter attack) in the first half only to give the Hearts player a talk. If you don't let such an advantage be played out a card is necessary and I would have thought of even a red card at the first moment.

St Mirren -V- Inverness CT
SCOTLAND ON SUNDAY "Compliments of the day were earned by Gary Warren, however, after he saved Steven Thompson from a booking late on. The defender lost his footing as the St Mirren striker slid in to him, and referee Callum Murray reached for his pocket in believing contact had been made. “I don’t usually do that, to be honest with you. But he is a nice guy, I like him, and I didn’t want to see him booked. “He didn’t touch me so I wasn’t going to roll around in agony, like quite a lot of people do nowadays. The ref was going to book him but, at the end of the day, he is an honest guy and so am I. To be fair to the ref he said to me afterwards he was going to book him and thanked me for saying there was nothing in it. In football these days a lot of players fake things and dive around. But this game was played in the right spirit. I like to be aggressive and tough but also be fair as well.” It will never catch on." Well done Gary! Is this the start of the return of sportsmanship on the football grounds all over Europe? In the German 2nd Bundesliga Florian Trinks of Greuther Furth went to the ref and told him he scored with his hand on Saturday. :clapping: :clapping:

St Mirren -V- Inverness CT
Difficult game, so I'm happy with the point. If we win the rescheduled game OTB we're six points clear of DU. Speaking of OTB: In the youtube highlights it looks like there were less than 1000 at Victoria Park

The new manager thread
Shouldn't the board take even more time? It's just...Duncan and Kello had 3 games, 3 wins, 3 clean sheets, 7 goals scored (though it c ould have been double figures). Let them continue a wee bit!
