  1. Summer football.
  2. kind of hoping it's off - cr@p pitch and a gale will make for a terrible game.
  3. I liked him at ICT - did a good job for us and always sad to hear a player's career being cut short.
  4. Exactly what proof is needed - if that happened in the street it would be GBH. Shambles.
  5. What is Polworth's natural position? I recall him playing DCM for Scotland Schoolboys years ago and the only time I've ever seen him in a different position was against St Johnstone where he was rotten playing off the striker. speaking to a guy who used to play with Polworth through the youth ranks, his opinion was that Polworth's best position was in centre mid of a 4-4-2. I get the feeling that, like with Nick Ross, there is some confusion as to how to fit these guys into the 4-2-3-1 formation that is serving us so well at the moment. Neither are natural CDMs or wingers - I think Christie is probably better than both in the hole behind the striker. So, we're left with the dilemma of two good (local!) footballers on the fringes of the team. Square pegs in round holes?
  6. Football is not an olympic sport. The end.
  7. Not sure about Horner - is he cover for Raven, perhaps? Fantastic, if we retain all the others. Poloworth is a very good footballer: I'm not sure he's ever been played in his rightful position for the first team (he's not a central defensive midfielder) - he also has a wicked free kick. He will come good! It would be good to retain Nick Ross, too. Again, he plays football the JH way and he's clearly worked hard on the defensive side of the game. Hopefully Ofere will prove hs worth and Ferguson and Sutherland will also be kept....then I think we're just about there for next season!
  8. Jeez - have you seen the photo of Kink on the BBC website? Terrifying! When he quits football, he'd make a good Bond villain....
  9. Watkins, Christie, Doran and Ofere sounds a deadly attack to me! This is a vital game for the season - no margin for error. Play at our best and we'll starve Raith of possession, but cup games rarely go like that! COME ON LADS!
  10. 1. Avoiding automatic relegation spot (earliest ever for us in top flight) 2. Top 6 assured (earliest ever) 3. Cannot be relegated (earliest ever) 4. ICT record for longest time without conceding a goal(616 minutes) 5. Joint record for number of Manager of the Month awards (2 for JH) ....many more to come!
  11. That clean sheet stat must be a record for ICT, at least in top flight?
  12. OK, Doofer's Dad has convinced me on another thread that we are now officially top 6 because of the fixtures that St J have left before the split - this means, the following are now true: 1. Avoiding automatic relegation spot (earliest ever for us in top flight) 2. Top 6 assured (earliest ever) 3. Cannot be relegated (earliest ever) Note - could a moderator change the thread title to 14/15 instead of 15/16? Thanks
  13. Just frustrating. Sounds like they were up for it more than us...are we running out of steam (and players)? Need to regroup, rethink and get ready for the final assault. Grrrrrr
  14. And we had that Tanzanian guy...Odiyambo.
  15. Esson Raven Devine Meekings Shinnie Draper Tansey Ross Christie Williams Ofere! Not sure he'll make it, given international clearance, but would be good to have a striker!
  16. Looks big, strong, athletic. You never know, it might just work!
  17. ...if Watkins is eligible, then Polworth drops to the bench and Christie back inot midfield
  18. Minimal reshuffle possible (assuming Warren, Doran and Watkins are out and Devine is fit: Esson Raven Devine Meekings Shinnie Tansey Draper Ross Polworth Williams Christie kinda like the 3 local lads up top, but a little inexperienced! If Devine is injured, then Tremarco has to go in there. Anyone left for the bench? Ferguson, Sutherland, Horner, Baptie(?), U17 goalie(!), U12 winger....Nessie, Subway sub
  19. If the ban stands (and it clearly should), I think that'll be a big blow to United in the run-in. Time will tell whether we'll suffer more for the loss of Warren, but I suspect not.
  20. DUFC contesting it. Surely this will stand - it was considerably more violent than the offence that Draper was sent off for last season(?) against County when he led with an arm.
  21. Could we not have got McDonald? Instead, we might be facing him on Saturday! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31641734 Gtranted, he's been at Motherwell before, but I don't think they would be able to offer him a better contract than we could....?
  22. I might be wrong but is there not some stupid rule whereby if the officials dealt with an incident at the time (2 players clashed and cards were issued) then nothing can be done restrospectively, even if the officials got it wrong? I might be wrong but is there not some stupid rule whereby if the officials dealt with an incident at the time (2 players clashed and cards were issued) then nothing can be done restrospectively, even if the officials got it wrong? I doubt the initial incident was seen - presumably Cifci's yellow was also to do with the afters. If so, I'm sure he can still be dealt with retrospectively...but will he be?
  23. Looks like Tansey's the man! Shame the one he missed happened to be in the cup final!
  24. The quality of reporting on BBC is utter sh!te, as is the quality of most of the pundits and football programmes that are produced (Sportscene, Sportsound, OAM, off the ball etc). Some of the commentators are OK, but most are amateurs. Unfortunately, the BBC is the window onto Scottish football and the weak presenting reflects on the product they are presenting......the last thing that Scottish football needs!
  25. That's a horror from Cifci - he'd better get cited for that. I suspect it was difficult for the officials to see because the action was elsewhere (and another foul and flashpoint). Hopefully a ban for Cifci - he's always a danger for them.....in more ways than one!
