  1. Danny's goal was great as was whole team performance. Looks like it was a shrewd move getting him signed up. Well done lads. We're right back in the challenge for European places thanks to a tremendous effort today.
  2. I've made a few enquiries about rescheduling our preliminary plans for July, and the draft fixture list looks quite tempting. Sun 6 Friendly Clachnacuddin Kingston Tue 8 Friendly Fort William Nevis Sat 12 Friendly Montrose Montserrat Tue 15 Friendly Brora Barbados Wed 16 Friendly Muir of Ord Port of Spain Sat 19 Friendly Arbroath Aruba Wed 23 Friendly Elgin Holguin Sat 26 League St Johnstone St Lucia A luxury cruise liner has been provisionally booked to accomodate and transport the team and the fans between islands, to be paid for by the same long queue of sponsors who are donating to the scoreboard fund. However, with the SPFL insisting that the first game kicks off at 12.30pm on a Sunday, long before even the first Megabus gets in, a fleet of jets is being arranged by CaleyJags Together to get us all over there in time. Red Stripe have kindly offered to subsidise the transport cost of this down to a very reasonable £10 per head. There will of course be a toilet stop at Broxden. Nice one but do we all have to share a bed with Russell?
  3. How has the compensation money been spent? Surely not all on Foran's new contract. Plus savings on Toby's wages. There must be some extra available for strengthening surely?
  4. I would not like to lose Vincent but the real answer is for Hughes to start earning his wages and begin bringing in some talent of his own and to think about moulding his own team. He is in the fortunate position of having most of the rest of our decent players signed up beyond this season but whether or not we hang on to Vincent, now is the time to for him to prove his worth by shoring up our depleted midfield with a decent signing and I don't mean Tansey.
  5. You're welcome. It's well known that schoolboys bump their heads a lot. Classic schoolboy error. I don't know what they teach them in schools these days.
  6. I think he claimed it was a schoolboy error not a senior moment.
  7. Their new manager should be in place by then.
  8. Poor Derek - the unluckiest man in Scotland. Every bad decision has gone against him and every game he's lost has been against the run of play. In fact the only bit of luck he's had was when the lights went out! Steve Clark for County
  9. Battered eyelids remind me of a sausage supper from our local chippy.
  10. Aberdeenx2 Celtic Dundee UTC Motherwell - tricky-some points at least would be required from these fixtures but why not. I think we can hold our own against any of them including a deflated Celtic.
  11. Dive aside, I thought Watkins was tremendous and a good job done in difficult conditions. Don't understand how the rules can be interpreted to allow grappling to the ground in the penalty box though.
  12. What would the score be if Hearts or Motherwell or ourselves for that matter were to play a team like that? At least we can stop kidding ourselves that Scottish league football can hold its head up in Europe again. Celtic have not just embarrassed themselves. Didn't watch this pointless game. Did the fans at least behave themselves? Did any of them stay to the end?
  13. I don't really understand how anyone can watch a game without having a preferred team. For English games I have a kind of Scottish factor points system amongst other reasons for supporting one team over another. Favouring teams in other SPL games usually hinges on benefit to ICT but I must admit the recent County Hibs game was a challenge-wasn't sure who I liked best. On the matter of changing teams I would hope that anyone relocating to the Highlands would want to bring their kids along to TCS rather than encourage them to support old firm etc. If you're raising your kids to support the local team its hard not to do so yourself. I guess the same applies elsewhere.
  14. The only way to stop this nonsense is to penalise the clubs where it hurts- by docking points. An 8 point 'fine' for Celtic for the disgraceful behaviour at Fir Park would get the message across to the perpetrators or at least encourage their fellow supporters to put pressure on the ned element.
  15. It reached a new low on Saturday. Richard Gordon is bearable but they should take the secateurs to the rest of them starting with Willie Miller and Chick Young. When that's been thinned out they should get into Sportscene and get variety of guests who can talk some sense about Scottish football and never make us suffer Pat Nevin's nasal nonsense again.
  16. Look at the poll for an answer to that surely. He said all the right things more or less and his cunning plan of leaving well alone is the right start. Ritchie handled his interview really well and gave me personally the first glimpse of optimism since this whole sorry business began. To be fair he was right to bring up the fact that Hughes has a couple of achievements on his CV which we still aspire to. I think I'll be able to swallow my disappointment and get on with the business of urging the team on to fulfil their best ever season.
  17. I also saw clearly what he did to Graham Shinnie and I couldn't understand why the appeal on that was successful considering the soft reds that we were unable to overturn last season. He should have had a lengthy ban for this one as well though and I quite agree with the referees. Absolutely disgraceful (good entertainment at the time though!)
  18. Of course he'll get a chance. It's the club I support not a here today gone tomorrow manager but for the sake of the team I'll be behind him once the sicky feeling in my stomach goes. A good run over the next few weeks will help.
  19. Well everyone knows the wife left you for a scaffy but time heals and you're getting over it and well what a night eh? with all them gorgeous exotic beauties to choose from and then BANG! you wake up with a splitting headache and some old scrubber from down the pub. Disappointed
  20. Well everyone knows you wife ran off with the scaffy but time heals and you're getting over it- even getting quite excited about all the gorgeous exotic beauties you're going to be going out with. BANG you wake up with some old dog and you're stuck with her. Surely we can do better than this. I would have thought that our current standing would have merited a better shortlist but I was coming round to the idea of Hartley being a decent gamble. This is just depressing.
  21. Surprised at that if true. Could business lady get a bit closer and find out who IS a candidate?
  22. Not if he wins a cup or two.
  23. Sorry to bring it up but it's only 3 years since we went down to an almost equally embarrassing defeat in the league cup.Let's not be too smug. Hopefully won't be Hearts' worst cup defeat this season though!
  24. According to Steven Thompson on Sportscene, Butcher has a league cup semi to look forward to. I hope that doesn't mean he's plotting a surprise comeback.
  25. A nose job or a nip and tuck?
