  1. Stop egging them on
  2. How unlike the SPFL to misdirect and generally confuse.
  3. From Wikipedia (so the usual warnings apply): When the domestic cup winners (considered as the "highest-placed" qualifier within the national association with the latest starting round) also qualify for the Champions League, their Europa League place is vacated. As a result, the highest-placed team in the league which have not yet qualified for European competitions qualify for the Europa League, with the Europa League qualifiers which finish above them in the league moved up one "place" (the 2015–16 season will be the first with this particular arrangement where the domestic cup runners-up are no longer guaranteed a place in the Europa League in this scenario).
  4. Those are the rules for qualification to this season's European competitions. I'm pretty sure that this season (i.e. qualification for next season's European competitions) the runners up in the Cup do not get a Europa league place if they lose to the Chanpions. In that case there is no qualifier from the cup, and the third place goes to fourth in the league.
  5. That's only one possible inaccuracy. There is also the assumption that each step is an accurate yard which I often doubt. The 10 yard rule must be one of the most poorly observed in football by referees. You would hope that someone whose job involved measuring 10 yards would have worked out how to accurately measure 10 yards using their stride. But given they had to be taken away for a week to be shown how to work a spray can, I am probably over-estimating their capabilities.
  6. Final observations on the day: WTF was that fanfare at the beginning all about. Oh the irony of playing that and St Mirren running out. Did any one else notice Blobby Madden pace out 9 (yes 9) yards the first time he used the spray? Only in Scotland! And Goodwin looks even more of a pr1ck than he did before.
  7. To be perfectly honest, I am quite happy for them to ignore us, and then say " how'd that happen" if we have our most successful season ever. I know how well we are playing at the moment, and couldn't give two hoots if the old and new firm obsessed weegia don't notice. Let's be fair, if they couldn't spot the developing train wreck that was Rangers, were unable to work out that "civil unrest" was just a spurious concept cooked up by Regan and Doncaster to shoehorn Rangers "back where they belong" or were unable (or unwilling) to ask what Ashley's agenda is, then you can't possibly be surprised that they haven't noticed what's occurring in the Highlands.
  8. I wondered if it had gone in at the time because the net rippled, but from the highlights it was clear that Ridgers punched the net - that's what made it ripple. Someone - Shinnie, I think - got a touch on the cross which took it higher than McAusland expected and the ball ended up just hitting him and going wide. That touch denied him a free header, and in all likelihood an equaliser.
  9. Willie Miller is a clueless sheep apologist. I thought our passing was pretty slick today. We seem to passing the ball forwards more than earlier in the season, and some of the ball retention today was breathtaking. If only we could convert a bigger percentage of chances created.
  10. This thread certainly brings a new meaning to shoot for the boot!
  11. Have you been watching 50 shades of grey? He priobably wants a spanking new striker too.
  12. Those highlights were an embarrassment. And BTW BBC, Billy Mckay didn't leave in midweek, but why let the truth get in the way when you can obsess over the ibrox train wreck instead.
  13. He got booked for having a right go at the assistant (who was pretty poor all day, where do they find them?) From the highlights it looked a pretty clear barge by Taylor, just shoved (literally) Meekings out of the way.
  14. Some people will post any old sh!t
  15. He's cup tied, so would still leave us short in the cup.
  16. Not sure how we didn't win that today - three cleared off the line. Wasn't sure about the penalty, but Watkins needed to go down at the point of contact if anything was going to be given. The pitch did us no favours today, there were loads of bobbles and the ball held up a fair few times too - which could be a concern given we like to keep the ball down and pass. Might cause problems with passing to the keeper too so (at the risk of repeating myself) let's try and keep that to a minimum, eh. I am prepared to blame the sclaffed clearances on the conditions. Thought the defence did ok to be honest, but struggled to adapt to Jervis when he first came on. Can't see county getting out of the position they are in now. They need to win two more games than Well and St Mirren just to catch them - if they play like that they will do well to win two more games. And to those suggesting we should have a look at Boyce - he was mince.
  17. Nah, this one was at Riccarton. Thought they also used Arniston Rangers' ground sometime too.
  18. But it was business as usual next time at Dens Park.
  19. Given Mcgennis missed an open goal, can we appeal Raven's red card on the grounds that it wasn't a clear goalscoring opportunity?
  20. We rode our luck a little at 1-0 - if Mcgennis hadn't missed that open goal we may not have come back, but apart from 10 minutes after the penalty we bossed the game and didn't look in any real trouble. At 1-1 only one team wanted to win. The killie play acting was embarrassing, and I am glad I don't have to watch that pish every week. Deserved winners, and justice was done in the end.
  21. Should the calculations not exclude points deductions? (Hearts 2013/14, Rangers 2011/12, Gretna 2007/08). That would give a more accurate prediction on where footballing performance (as opposed to financial mismanagement) would lead you to end up. Somewhere around 25 points from our last 18 ganmes should see us finish in the top 4 with a bit of luck.
  22. According to the SPFL official site, both pitches are 68 metres wide.
  23. Disappointing result, especially considering we gifted them the goal. BT Sports Aberdeen love in was truly sickening. Gary McAllister is a terrible pundit. According to Derek Rae we lacked a goal threat - I must have imagined the two stretching saves and billy hitting the bar. And what was that 1 minute of added time about? Keeper used at least half of it to take a goal kick and the ref blew early!
  24. What a sickener.
  25. 1 minute? Feck off
