  1. Mckay was out of contract so a free agent. Presumably he got an offer from Falkirk that suited him. I’d have been happy had he signed in for us again as, whilst not everyone’s favourite, he generally did ok for us last season. Not heard anything about our other out of contract players.
  2. The draw is live on Channel 422 on Sky at 1300. It is a free to view channel.
  3. It is some clear out! https://www.rosscountyfootballclub.co.uk/news-items/squad-update
  4. I agree. We should bring our youngsters through rather than looking at Gardyne. It didn’t work when Mckay came back in our relegation season so I’d avoid him too. As for Draper, I agree with Kingsmills. However, he didn’t have that much game time last season and we are well covered in central midfield with Welsh. Carson and Allardice all under contract.
  5. Good that justice has been seen to have been done. Any word on a penalty for Raith Rovers’ Davidson who’s case was delayed? Hopefully we get more good news about Toddy soon: that he has signed a new contract.
  6. We need all the paying fans we can get!
  7. There’s now a thread on MM in the UK football section so we don’t devalue the discussion about our new Head Coach.
  8. Following on from the discussion in the Robbo thread, I stress at the outset that I in no way condone racist or sexist comments, and if he had been banned from football it would have been justified. Similarly, I would not want someone with his baggage associated with our club. It seems he has received a negative reception from some County fans, but on a brief extract of an interview on the BBC earlier he seemed contrite and accepted he had acted wrongly in the past, whilst asking people to judge him on his time since he made those comments. I will be unpopular for saying this, but I think this appointment may actually work out well for County. He will have contacts given his football history which may assist him, whilst he has a decent track record overall.
  9. It would raise our profile and maybe even increase the diversity of our fan base. Not sure whether aaroncoganshogun is at the wind up though!!
  10. That’s great for the youngsters and the club. All the more so as all the Scottish based players are with top league teams apart from our four and Rudden of Partick Thistle. Hopefully some of them get game time when the matches take place on 2 and 5 June. Regarding Dan, the * section of the article copied above explains why he is recorded as our player.
  11. Another goal for Adam Rooney tonight for Solihull. A good week for former players called Rooney!
  12. Tommy Wright is under contract at Killie for two more years. Has he been sacked tonight? Alloa are also managerless. Barry Ferguson being linked with them. There may be more vacancies in the lower leagues too.
  13. We have lost the three teams we failed to beat this season, Hearts, Dundee and Alloa. Hopefully we do better against Kilmarnock, Hamilton and Partick when the new season starts!
  14. I’m not watching it but the BBC text commentary, and a comment from Neil McCann, imply the ‘keeper made a very rash challenge and it was a penalty.
  15. And it looks like we will be facing Killie next season unless there is a big turnaround in the last 45 minutes of the final.
  16. He has “decided to explore further football opportunities” whatever that means.
  17. After the torrid start he had at St Johnstone, he must be their hero now. Two cup finals and two winning goals, in both cases with the only goal of the game. Has the same player scored the only goal in both the Scottish Cup and League Cup finals in the same season ever before?
  18. I can’t write in Korean, so this will need to do! The Betfred Cup is now the Premier Sports Cup, with the draw next Friday. Hopefully we are allowed into the games when the cup starts. Just 7 weeks to go until competitive games start again. https://ictfc.com/premier-sports-cup-draw-2021-22
  19. We have Morton again. They have won the play off final 4-0 on aggregate against Airdrie.
  20. That link doesn’t seem to exist any more. What was the news story?
  21. Dundee beat Kilmarnock 2-1 in the first leg of the play off final, but it sounds like they were by far the better team so they may rue not getting a more convincing win. We will know on Monday who we will be facing next season as the second leg is then, whilst Morton play Airdrie in their second leg tomorrow.
  22. A bit more detail here: https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/sport/football/inverness-caledonian-thistle/3159760/spfl-trust-trophy-caley-thistle-to-begin-challenge-cup-defence-in-september/amp/ It’s not a surprise given the pandemic, but I’m pleased to see greater involvement for Highland and Lowland League clubs. We enter at the second round.
  23. Morton scored very late to win 1-0 at Airdrie so have the advantage for the second leg of the play off final.
  24. A number of colleagues of my neighbour were going down for the “party”. That is from just one workplace, so I’m sure a lot travelled from this area, selfishly risking not just their safety but the safety of us all. With what’s going on in Moray just now, we are not immune from the pandemic in this area and, if anything, more at risk given we were less affected earlier so we have lower immunity levels.
