In Gardyne’s absence, will someone step up and be the spark we need? Good to see Sutherland back in. MacGregor playing out wide? Dodds is at the game.

Looking forward to this one, which is an opportunity to get things back on track. We often raise our game on tv, as we did in the same fixture last season. More of that will do me just fine. The lack of numbers in the squad is becoming an issue, and if it continues we may need to get some of those out on loan back, particularly Fyffe or Nicolson as we are light on defenders. As mentioned on another thread, I’d give MacGregor a run in the “no 10” role if Sutherland is not fit to start. McDonald is due a start on the wing also to see if he can contribute more than Walsh. The downside is them having Innes Cameron who had a habit of scoring against us when with Ayr and Alloa. Whatever our line up, let’s hope we put on a good show and get the three points.

Don’t leave us guessing! Who is the person you believe is causing the issues?

Some tough teams in the list we could be drawn against. We could get the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Turkey, Poland, Austria or North Macedonia. I’m hoping for North Macedonia.

ICTFC Squad Update 21/22/23/
He’s been injured recently, certainly in the lead up to their Covid outbreak. If he is fit by January, I agree it would be a good move for us.

A great performance. We bossed the first half and defended excellently when Denmark had us under pressure after the break. What a feeling when the second goal went in. Tremendous. Looking at the second placed teams, being seeded is vital. We could have been facing Portugal, Italy or Russia away in the semi. Hopefully we get a winnable semi when the draw takes place next Friday, and a home game in the final if we win our semi.

That game sums up our performances in October and November. In the first half, we were the better team but lacked potency to kill the game off. After half time, we didn’t play at all and didn’t trouble Dunfermline, who deserved the three points. Looking at the season so far, it has all gone downhill since the end of September: First 7 games: 6 wins, 1 draw, 19 points. Last 7 games: 1 win, 3 draws, 3 defeats: 6 points. We all knew our league position was a bit false on 25 September, but the wheels have come off in terms of our results. What has changed and how do we sort it? Friday’s game in Dumfries could be pivotal if we want to stay in the mix at the top and not be dragged into the fight at the bottom.

If that Moldova penalty had not been saved by Gordon and cleared by Tierney, we would have had a typically Scottish nail biting end to the game. The play offs will be tough as we have a one leg semi, hopefully at home although as Kingsmills says that may require us to take something from Denmark on Monday, then if we win the semi we have an unseeded one leg final. I enjoyed the game today and we would have won more comfortably with better finishing. It is good to see guys like Patterson and Gilmour doing well. They will be part of our future.

Thanks. That’s a good interview by Duffy which also explains his own injury issues this season. Great to have Carson back.

I agree that when they quietened Gardyne we did seem to be less of a threat but we did have 9 attempts on target. I have just read the BBC live text to remind myself of the efforts. Mckay had an effort well saved just before we scored our first. That was the only save the Ayr ‘keeper made in the first half. In the second half, efforts by Mckay, Gardyne, Mckay again. Gardyne again, Welsh and Mckay again were saved. My recollection is that some of these saves were good. We should have won but could easily have lost so a draw is a fair result. We need to start winning again and to put teams to bed when we are on top.

As we all know, Joe Chalmers scored for Ayr today. Scott Boden got another two also for Borehamwood whilst Miles Storey scored for Hereford who got a rare win. In the Highland League, another goal for Harry Hennem for Brora, with Andy MacRae scoring too. In Wales, Dean Ebbe scored for TNS.

That’s extremely harsh. We were good in the first half and, whilst we were not nearly as potent in the second half, the Ayr ‘keeper made several good saves or we would have won it. I enjoyed the game, which was in difficult conditions, with both teams trying to get forward. Gardyne was my pick in the first half, but had a quieter second half, whilst I thought Allardice was good throughout the game. I am very frustrated at losing the PPV stream, so may be seeing the second half performance through rose tinted glasses. Other results have largely suited us today though.
