  1. I agree fully with both posts above. Some clubs need to take a long hard look at themselves and realise that a different formula will be better for the game in this country. Some countries have larger leagues that split mid way through, so keep the interest going for fans. Something like that could be successful here if clubs can look at things with an enlightened, longer term view.
  2. Thanks, I’ve read the full link and the last answer is enlightening too. A full review of youth development in this country is long overdue as it needs to look after the youngsters but also be sustainable and affordable for clubs. At present it seems to do neither.
  3. What is the source of the numbers you quote? They are quite different from the understanding of most posters on this topic.

Fingers crossed for you! A lot could happen but hopefully the infection rates stay low and a crowd is allowed in.

Full list is here: https://ictfc.com/2020-21-fixture-list Quite a tough start: away to Dunfermline, home to Ayr and Arbroath then away to Hearts. Those four games could go some way to defining our season. Tough ending too if we are still in the hunt for the league or play offs: home to Dundee, away to Hearts and home to Ayr are our last three games.

Agreed but I just hope the league does start as planned and we are able to safely attend matches.
  7. Nice one! Final score was 2-0.
  8. 6 of the 7 tests have been false positives when checked by the NHS so there is only 1 case and an inquiry is to take place as to how the wrong results were given. Also some controversy about Rangers playing a match when awaiting some test results. It seems the whole testing and results process needs sorted for football quickly before the season is threatened.
  9. Just seen that Jordan White scored the only goal of the game for Motherwell last week against Dundee United.
  10. I agree, early September should be time enough for getting players signed up. Some of those released by us when their contacts expired in June may sign back on (someone mentioned Jack Brown and Lewis Hyde in this regard recently). We also have a risk we could lose one or two more to Premiership sides in the near future (someone linked Ridgers with County, but I hope that does not happen). For me, priority positions are right back and centre half. Currently we only have 4 defenders signed up, plus Toddy who can play there. A central midfielder would be useful also given Welsh and Vincent can be injury prone. In addition, if we do lose anyone else we will need a direct replacement.
  11. An early goal for Graeme Shinnie for Derby at Birmingham on a rare start as he has generally been a sub since the season restarted.

Sure I read somewhere that County’s plan this season was to have a big squad and hope that would see them through the season. Quantity over quality?
  13. As the first three games will presumably be behind closed doors, I wonder if they will be streamed for season ticket holders?
  14. I read it as a new pair of boots signed by Sean Welsh rather than an old pair of his boots. I see why it has split opinion, but not one I will be purchasing I’m afraid.
  15. Nice to see the donations to the Highland Hospice for every away top sold. The club is definitely trying to improve its image in the community and hopefully the local media pick up on it and it encourages more support.
  16. But remember, the role of captain is as important off the pitch as it is on it. He is spokesman for the players and needs to have the trust and respect of both players and the back room team.
  17. As he managed to do with two bookings in about three minutes once for us when he lost the plot.
  18. I’m not sure Doran is a leader on the park. We need someone vocal who can gee up the players and someone in a central defensive or midfield role is a better option in my opinion. I’d go with Welsh with Doran remaining as vice captain.
  19. Thanks for highlighting. That was the only time I have seen home fans in the away end due to the support we had. None of us knew who the goalie wearing 25 was as we all expected Esson to be in goal Oh for support like that again. Sadly j suspect we can only dream!
  20. I’m with the majority here. Really sorry we let Carl go, but as we did, good for him in getting a decent move and, whilst I’m no supporter of County, I wish him well. Is that seven players who we used to have who are now there, or have any left following the end of last season? Donaldson, Tremarco, Cowie, Draper, Chalmers, Vigurs, Mckay. Sadly it does highlight our players e on the Highland pecking order at this time
  21. What happens with the transfer window this summer: is it as normal given the top league starts on 1 August? Probably irrelevant to us as we will be looking at players out of contract, but we may lose the odd one of the 16 remaining in our first team squad to a higher league club.
  22. Shane Sutherland now officially back with us: https://ictfc.com/shane-sutherland-rejoins-ictfc
  23. Once confirmed, I’m really pleased for him. Great he can continue in the game and remain based locally.
  24. If it does, I think he can be an asset for us with game time. That said, I’d be surprised if we took another wage on at this time as he cannot be furloughed.
  25. I’m sure he and Doran renewed on reduced terms at the same time.
