  1. David Wotherspoon made the SPFL Team of the Week for his performance against Airdrie.
  2. I’m getting £47.30 on LCC Live, the promoters of local events: https://lcclive.ticketline.co.uk/order/tickets/13369960/skipinnish-the-25th-anniversary-concert-inverness-bught-park-2024-07-06-16-00-00
  3. The lead singer in Tide Lines, Robert Robertson, was the singer in Skipinnish until he and another band member set up Tide Lines in 2018. Skipinnish are now fronted by the singer who used to be in Manran. Robertson was co-writer of Walking on the Waves, the track that probably put Skipinnish on the map, and it is now in the repertoire of both bands. Tide Lines are in their third album and I’d recommend seeing them live if you get a chance if you like good going music with a Scottish twist and a bit of banter. They’ve some exotic locations in the pipeline: https://www.tidelinesband.com/pages/shows
  4. Jordan White for Ross County tonight.
  5. Raith 1 up after 26 minutes.
  6. Agreed. Cowdenbeath are currently 10th in the 18 team Lowland League with 17 points from 13 games (4 wins, 5 draws and 4 defeats). More pertinently they had a decent run in the League Cup group stages, losing 1-0 to Forfar and St Mirren and drawing 1-1 with Arbroath and Montrose, losing both of those on penalties. There is no room for complacency.
  7. We’ve been drawn at home to Cowdenbeath (now in the Lowland League). The tie is on the weekend of 25 November. The draw has thrown up Championship derbies in Fife and Glasgow. Date & Time TBC
  8. The second half was a hard watch despite all the above except Nicolson being in the team or in the bench. The club’s report: https://ictfc.com/ictfc-1-0-airdrieonians-28-10-2023/
  9. Marley Watkins for Kilmarnock today with his last touch before being subbed. Liam Polworth also started for Killie with Robbie Deas coming off the bench. Graeme Shinnie started for Aberdeen but was hooked early in the second half.
  10. I spotted Duffy warming up during the first half so checked who were out at half time and Hyde wasn’t there. The unused outfield subs were Duffy, Boyce and Thomson. Maybe it was a late change as Hyde picked up a knock?
  11. George Oakley for Morton, Col Donaldson for Falkirk, Rory McAllister for Peterhead, Garry Wood for Banks O’Dee, Ali Sutherland for Brora, Calum Ferguson for Clach and Jordan Roberts for Stevenage today.
  12. This is what Saturday evenings should feel like! The second half was a hard watch at times, but we got the job done. Ridgers dealt with everything and a few timely blocks and some poor finishing helped too. The first half was quite even and we scored at the right time as Airdrie seemed to be getting on top. It was a great, calm finish by Wotherspoon which more than made up for the one he skied earlier (in his defence I thought it came on to him very quickly). I also thought the referee did us a big favour early in the second half. On a different day Anderson would have been penalised and a penalty awarded. However I thought we should have got one shortly after too. It’s nice not to be gifting goals although we did have some squeaky bum moments in defence, with Airdrie’s right wing back causing a lot of problems. Mckay and Wotherspoon worked their socks off. Longstaff and Shaw tried to push forward but also helped the full backs well. Anderson and Gilmour are developing a good partnership. But the biggest credit must go to our walking wounded. Last night all of our starting defenders were on the injury list, and Carson and Devine cannot have been fully fit when they were subbed in the second half. Udjur was not quite as composed today but did what he had to, whilst Harper had a bit of a torrid time defensively at times but credit them both for getting through the game. Sheridan could prove an asset when he is fully match sharp, with one defensive tackle standing out for me today. Lodovica and Brooks still do not convince me though. I was surprised to see Boyce on the bench, along with Duffy (who was there rather than Hyde from the teams published). We may lose ground on Tuesday when some of our opponents play and Saturday will be a big test at Tannadice. But let’s enjoy the moment. It’s a long time since we’ve had a home win to kick start a Saturday evening.
  13. If we are without Carson, Duffy, Devine, Boyes, Ujdur, Harper and Nicolson, who on earth play at the back for us? Davidson and Delaney are the only defenders who are definitely available as we’ve loaned the youngsters out. I really hope some make it or it could be a difficult watch tomorrow.
  14. Thanks, any thoughts as why someone would have one tied to a pole in their garden? They have chickens roaming too, so possibly something to do with that?
  15. Not asking where it is but what it is! My wife didn’t believe it was real when I told her so I took this short video. It’s in a garden about half a mile from me. IMG_0791.MOV
  16. I’ve retained Sky Sports as I quite enjoy Sunday matches but it’s probably a luxury I could do without. I’ve never bothered with the other subscription providers. The Champions League lost its appeal for me when they allowed more than one team in from countries. I much preferred it when they had the European Cup, Cup Winners Cup and UEFA Cup. Money talks though.
  17. Rescheduled for Tuesday 12 December with a 1945 kick off.
  18. Again sensible to give him a short term deal to see how he does. Hopefully, like Wotherspoon, he does enough to warrant an extension. We have been light on goals so the focus has been on the correct part of the pitch since Ferguson joined. I wonder if any of the squad will be “released by mutual consent” in January.
  19. HT 1-0 FT 2-1 ICT Billy Mckay Airdrie Gallagher Crowd 2150
  20. Logan Chalmers for Ayr and Nathan Austin for East Fife today.
  21. Wonder if these will withstand a dishwasher? https://shop.ictfc.com/product/big-duncs-highland-army-mugs
