  1. I agree. Reported on here a few days ago that we are without Vigurs for the Dunfermline and Livingston games due to suspension.
  2. Another win and now second. Two wins in their last two games and they win the league.
  3. Am I glad I got that wrong and Austin played!'
  4. Just home after being out on the town after the game. A great performance and result. I agree, Vigurs was immense, Austin took his goals well, Doran scored a great one and set one up, Polworth gets so much undeserved stick, the defence was solid, and Oakley put in an incredible shift. Clearly the substitution of Austin should have been Oakley judging by the bench, but it did not change anything. A very satisfying afternoon (and evening) and we can look forward with optimism. Tuesday will be interesting. Dumbarton need to win so should chase the game, so that should suit us. We will have Tremarco, Donaldson and Trafford available. I would start the first two, but Calder deserves a run, so an interesting decision for Robbo. Good to see Elbouzedi getting some game time, and he looks promising too Lets keep the run going guys!
  5. Looking forward to tomorrow, which should be milder and dry, unlike Tuesday! With the suspensions to Tremarco, Donaldson and Tremarco, I would go with: Ridgers Seedorf Mckay Warren Calder Polworth Vigurs Chalmers Mulraney Oakley Doran Tine will tell!!
  6. But thankfully he was very decent when he came off the bench and won us three points tonight!
  7. That was a tough slog in difficult conditions. Both teams struggled to keep the ball, and for most of the game our tactic was a long ball forward which rarely troubled. How we didn't score first half when we hit the bar after an effort was cleared off the line, I don't know, but equally we cleared a couple off the line and Ridgers had a great late save. It looked destined for a 0-0 until Doran and Mulraney came on, and fortunately it was "positive Jake" who turned up and changed the game. It would be easy to be hard on the players, but they got the job done in horrible conditions. I just hope it stops raining long before Saturday!
  8. Very comfortable win judging by the highlights, with some decent play and some great vision from Polworth.
  9. And Billy Mckay got only his second of the season for Ross County today.
  10. Sounds like a good job, professionally done. The next three games could define our season: if we can get nine points against Falkirk and Dumbarton, we will be right in the mix. If we don't, it will just be pride to play for in our last three games. Looking at the run ins, other than when they come here, Dunfermline's is quite easy with home games against Brechin and Dumbarton: to overhaul them we probably need six wins. As a result, Dundee United are probably our target. They will probably slip up against St Mirren next week and still have Livingston and Queen of the South to play, along with Brechin and Falkirk. So, a long shot, but .......
  11. Another win today sees them 6 off top and 3 off second with two games in hand. The two teams above them only have one game to play, and that is against each other next week, so it is looking promising that Highland will at least get second and possibly win their league.
  12. Best ref rating all season? Notable there were no bookings for either team.
  13. That's why I didn't suggest him, plus Calder's recent impact gives us pace wide.
  14. According to the preview on the club!s website, Donaldson is a "slight doubt" for tomorrow hopefully he makes it. My starting eleven: Ridgers Seedorf Mckay Donaldson (or Warren) Tremarco Polworth Vigurs Chalmers Calder Oakley Austin
  15. And our first point against a decent St Mirren team is a big plus too.
  16. With the games coming thick and fast, and some signs of tiredness, do we stick with the current line up or try to freshen it up? Based on today, I would make two changes, to add pace, with Calder starting in place of Trafford and Bell in place of Austin, giving a starting line up of: Ridgers Mckay Warren Donaldson Tremarco Polworth Vigurs Calder Doran Oakley Bell
  17. Sorry mods, I was getting a "something went wrong message" so didn't realise the message was posted. Please delete the duplicate posts.
  18. Good to see them putting a winning run together and now being in real contention for promotion Currently fourth, with games in hand against the teams above them and three of the last four games against teams much lower in the league. Lets hope they make it!
  19. Well, that was definitely a point gained! St Mirren came out flying, backed by a large, noisy support. Mullen was tormenting our defence and they looked dangerous with their pacy attacks. No argument from me about the first penalty, but I didn't have a view of the second, but a great save from Ridgers, one of several. We couldn't keep the ball in the first half, and I feared a rout. We started the second better, and were more in it. Their second came after a very soft free kick, which went in off the post. From then on, our guys were immense. Calder made a real difference playing wide left when he came on. Warren found great space for the first and Polworth scored a great free kick. Delighted we rescued a point, but also felt we were the more likely to win it at the death. Ridgers a clear man of the match. Warren did well against a pact attack. Polworth did well, especially after the break, and Oakley put in a serious shift. Credit to Calder, though, as his introduction increased our tempo. We also had a couple of decent penalty claims turned down, particularly when Doran went down and ended up being booked. We are surely safe from the relegation play off, but the promotion play offs look beyond us, but who knows? Overall a good week, unbeaten in four, and the last 20 minutes must have increased the players' confidence, as St Mirren's first half performance was probably the best I've seen from a visiting team this season. Hopefully Robbo is focussing on who we want to keep so we can kick on next season.
  20. I missed Tuesday's game as flying back up from Manchester, but we looked dominant in the highlights and that reflects the comments from those at the game. Sounds like we have a full squad, possibly apart from Mulraney, due to an injury picked up on international duty (which explains his absence on Tuesday). I would go with Tuesday's starting eleven, and unleash Mackay for the last half hour: Ridgers Mckay Warren Donaldson Tremarco Polworth, Vigurs, Trafford Oakley, Austin, Doran St Mirren may be top, but we've not been a mile off them in the three games, so hopefully we turn them over!
  21. Donaldson Tremarco Mackay
  22. His post match interview was very professional and mature. A future captain in my opinion.
  23. Congratulations to a Gary Warren and Iain Vigurs (and wives / partners) on the birth of their new babies in the lead up to the final.
  24. I had to watch on TV as I had a family birthday party in the evening. A slightly nervous opening as Dumbarton crafted better chances, but other than the deflection off Donaldson that Ridgers saved, we never really seemed in danger. They were set up to make it difficult for us to build play and create chances, making it a slow, patient game, and pretty dull most of the time. I feared the worst after the penalty, but credit to the team, they did not get deflated and their patience was rewarded. Great to have Donaldson back, but my plaudits go to MacKay and Tremarco. Well done guys, lets now kick on!!
  25. Chalmers Is the 11th according to BBC website.
