  1. Encouraging feedback about Seedorf. We need him to slot in effectively at right back now. Does Raven get a one game or two game ban? If one game, hopefully he is allowed to take a bow against Livingston on 2 January. Despite today, we are only 6 points off a four way tie for third. Hopefully we get back on song against Brechin next week and can get closer to the play off mix.
  2. The weight of votes to the back five sums up the game for those not able to be there! i don't think I have given all my votes to defenders before.
  3. Jordan Roberts was sent off in Crawley's 3-0 defeat at Crewe.
  4. Some good, quick moves in the first half, but in the second we were quite sloppy with a lot of misplaced passes, and were maybe fortunate to hold on. Great delivery by Chalmers for captain Tremarco's goal. Otherwise, the highlight as RiG has said was the skill Donaldson showed a couple of times to ease the pressure on himself, although if it had gone wrong..... We would not have won this game earlier in the season, so another sign of progress. Only three points off 5th and five off the play offs, with 10 clean sheets in 11 games, so hopefully we continue to push on. My thoughts on the players: Ridgers did all that was asked of him. The defence held firm, even when the animal that is Nade was thrown on. Mckay was up against him and unlucky to get booked, whilst another ref may have sent Nade off for his reaction to the challenge. Raven was steady, Tremarco is getting back to his best, whilst Donaldson held it together. Trafford did ok in the holding role, although I felt we missed Vigurs. Chalmers and Polworth were quieter. Polly was looking for the ball first half but less so second half. Bell put a shift in, but not as influential as sometimes. Baird worked hard, but lacked an end product. Mulraney had a decent first half, but was poor after the break. Of the subs, Doran was lively but not back to his best yet, Oakley worked hard and should maybe start ahead of Baird given his height, whilst Calder was not on that long. We got what we needed, and ground out the win. Onwards and upwards hopefully! i don't want to end on a downbeat note, but there was very little atmosphere. The Dumbarton fans were in the main stand, and the home end seemed subdued for some reason.
  5. I was a fan of Williams and saw potential, but I think he went backwards at Dundee. I agree, the past is behind us, let him go wherever, and we can focus on building a squad to get us back up next season (assuming that ambition this season is unrealistic).
  6. Great news! Lets join "Stand By Me" for David Raven with renditions of "Oh oh oh he's magic, you'll never get past Tremarco" for him tomorrow!!
  7. Assuming it goes ahead, this will be David Raven's second last home game. Lets show him our appreciation with "Stand By Me" when he is on the ball. We need a party atmosphere.....
  8. Thanks for the explanation. Assuming that the current position is salvaged, is there scope for new members joining? I am sure many on here, with the club's best interests at heart, who would be happy to get involved.
  9. And Queen of the South, given today's results!
  10. According to the Courier, a deal is agreed in principle with Donaldson. Fingers crossed!!

I like the recent results section of the preview: the 2-0 loss to McKendrick (sorry, St Mirren) is omitted!!
  12. And me, on a flight from Manchester at kick off time, assuming no weather issues.
  13. Just a wind up, which is worse: mediocre or poor? I'd have said mediocre.
  14. We absolutely must keep Donaldson.
  15. Like the ref options! But someone has said yesterday's was worse than McKendrick. Really?
  16. When I heard about the eight hour delay, I feared the worst, but well done to all involved today. Judging by the BBC text commentary, there was little between the teams, so if the travel had gone to plan, perhaps we would have sneaked it. Two home games looming, let's hope we get two wins! I drive the A9 twice a week on average, and the dualling progress seems far too slow.

All the signs are that he is heading south to get his child settled for starting school after the summer, so I doubt we will see him playing against us.

We need to adopt "Stand By Me" as our anthem at our next three home games to give Dave a great send off knowing we appreciate him and all he has done here since 2012. I know there have been debates about what constitutes a "club great", but he fits the bill in my eyes.
  19. Christie has been sent off before, at least once when with us.

Sadly inevitable, but let's give him a great send off. Harshly treated by the club at times, he always gives 100%, and his celebration after the semi final win with the look of sheer pleasure and surprise is one of my all time memories. Thanks and good luck for the future!
  21. Looked comfortable after early scare, but second goal a real gift. I doubt Bell has scored many headers, but pick for me was Trafford's pass for Oakley's finish.
  22. We must get Donaldson signed up longer term. It will be very bad if we lose him when his current deal expires in January.

We have three fit strikers, all scored tonight.... Just being provocative!!

Craig Samson in SPFL team of the week. For his saves, not his assault!!
  25. I'm in Glasgow due to work commitments glued to the BBC text commentary whilst my brother in law is using my ticket! Seems very one sided although Brechin hit the post in the second minute. 7 shots on target with 5 saved, 3 from Mulraney all sounds good. Hopefully someone there will confirm we are well on top. Nice also to see St Mirren behind after Saturday's fiasco, but a pity Dumbarton are winning. That said, Queen of the South seem to be on a bad run and we have nothing to fear in Dumfries on Saturday. Onwards and upwards!
