How many nationalities have played at the TCS
Council Juice replied to Renegade's topic in Caley Thistle
What nationality was Pavels Mihadcjuks? And the other lad we had for 6 months in the 1st division? Neither Belarusian? Surely Rangers had a few odd nationalities the year Capucho and Emerson were there? Oh Greg Tansey - Scouser. I've been told most sternly by a Scouser that he wasn't English, he was scouse. -
Bit out of touch. Who is/isn't available? I mean, do we still have Golabert? Is he injured? Presuming so. Going on what I currently know- - Esson - - Piermayr - Tokely - Williams - Gillet - - Tansey - Jones - Ross - - Hayes - Tade - Foran - Well something like that anyway. We're missing Andy Shinnie I think. Maybe Morrison deserves a game? I just dont have any faith in Proctor these days. If only we still had Munro to steady the back line. Still think thats Butchers biggest error in charge.

Ok I've done some thinking and thought "who does rousing anthems better than anyone. Ones that suggest efficiency and and power. Well of course it's the Germans so who better than Scorpions, and what better than this.. No Pain, No Gain! Ok, now thats sorted all we need to do is make sure all the players are taken down the barbers and given classic late 80s German Mullets like Rudi Voller etc. Oh yes! Ross Tokely already looks like a farm beast. Imagine what that'd do to him!

See if this was the first time he'd done this I'd see where you're coming from but he does it on a monthly basis. Finds some aspect of the club to moan about, be it commericalism and how we dont do enough, how we dont have a multi storey club shop, a, jewel encrusted car park, a stadium bar more popular than shearers, why we haven't got Messi on the other flank to Hayes yet and now why our stadium doesn't have another stand. It's constant beration of the club and perhaps if he occasionally had a nice think to say about it people might take his bashing more seriously than irritable goading. On the subject matter. I'd much rather see the main stand fully roofed and not have those 2 stupid bits hanging out at the sides. Then perhaps look into terracing the empty side. Perhaps use the tower as a crowd divider of some sorts. That way you could maybe even have home and away safe standing, and suitably segregated by a ruddy big pillar and catering/toilets etc. Either way it might not be the most asthetically pretty stadium, or hold the best atmosphere (more to do with the support given away fans often make a lot more noise with fractional amounts.) but I'll ask one thing. Can you name a better view from any other stadium in Scotland? (not looking at the city obviously)

I cant see Rangers going completely out of business and such, then trading under a new name (Rangers 2012). I dont think it will go that far. If that happens does it mean all the competitions they won belong to Rangers 1873 and the new compay starts on zero? I'm no admin or business whizz. But I believe the holding company who currently owns the club would be the ones who'd take on the debt if it went as far to rangers winding up. A new holding company would thus be formed and take over Rangers without that debt and a restructured business model, thus still same company with different holding company and same owner. I've tried to read the BBC Q&A but there is a lot in there. I dont want to see any team go belly up. No fans deserve that. I dont think it would be good for Scottish football. Celtic would continue to dominate with occasional challenges from the other teams. The TV money is largely dependant on the Old Firm. Lets be frank. Sky couldnt give a care in the world for the rest of Scottish football. The Old Firm derby is their money maker in Scotland. The BBC might take it one but the money would be vastly reduced. Sponsors might be less than keen if Scottish football becomes less of a global market. There are a lot of worries. How would Inverness fair without tier 1 games, with full houses against an old firm team twice a year? Every chairman loves counting the coins when the old firm come to town. ICT is no different. It would be a blow to us, and to us operating on a SPL budget. (Which we barely do now). I dont want to see rangers go bust and I hope Hearts can fix their mess too. Scottish football needs it's older bigger clubs.

If someones eery going to get creative I suggest getting the words highland charge in there. Do it to yellow submarine perhaps. We're the Caley Jags and we're on a highland charge, on a highland charge. Get something about the HMS Sneck in the verses too. I'm sure the Immortal Howden Ender would love that. We already have the highland march traditional so it kind of works in that too I like the family ness idea. you may see a smelly hibee, a hun, a jambo too, but you'll never see a nessie You can go to maryhill, and even parkead too, but you'll never see a nessie in the zoo! Alternatively - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmiJxlt6jEI&feature=related. Something with the lyrics "you make me wanna shout" in it seems just like what we need.

I dont think I'd have too much issue if it was some sort of casual role maybe. I only know about him from what I read in the papers. None of it is all that good. But I dont know the man. Terry does.

I can only see this working for fairly local games due to inabilities to travel straight after work/ very late night but you'd then have to rule out major derbies such as the auld filth and Edinburghs 2 teams also. One could probably see pushing in a game for us (based on current SPL teams) against possibly St Johnstone or Aberdeen, maybe Dumpfarmland but no one else. It might be a dapper solution for all the teams in the SFL based in the Glasgow region but the muppets in the SPL rarely see far beyond that. It's a No from me Neil. Saturday afternoon, 3pm. Thats where it is at!

Ok so I might have read someone else also incorrectly mention parkheid and therefore presumed we were away. Even less of an excuse to sit back then.

No point being scared of going to Parkhead for the fear of losing. Go for it. we've won there before. Drawn before when 2 behind. They have good players true but their no invinvibles. - Esson - - Piermayr - Tokely - Hogg - Gillet - - Tansey - Davis - Foran - - Hayes - Tade - A.Shinnie - Subs: Tuffey; Meekings, Proctor, Cox, G.Shinnie, Morrison, Sutherland. The players want to play 4-3-3 and are comfortable doing so, so let them. Shinnie and Hayes can always drop back and leave Tade on his own to chase loose balls up front if required. I'd take Piemayr over Meekings as he just seems to have that bit more experience. Bench more or less picks itself at the moment.

I can only see us either extending loan signings or replacing loans with what we already have. On the plus side January is often a very good time to get loanees in as most players by then know if they are "in the picture" at their current clubs thus higher calibre players more willing to go out for a game and clubs more willing to get good young players some game time when they realise the player isn't getting as much time as they thought they would get (both from the club and players point of view) The defence needs sorting out. That much is certain. We've had a fairly miserly defence in terms of not letting in many per game in more recent years but this seaon we seem to have become rather generous. I'm not sure if funding is there to bring anyone in even at the same amount of players we have. In other words it might be 2 out and only one in. Andy Shinnie and tade have both hit the back of the net fairly regularly of late so perhaps they are forming what could be a promising partnership up front. Priority though has to be, get squad fit and off the foot of the table by the turn of the year. Then see where we are.
-
Again thanks. Some great goals there and some of this years signings looked very impressive. Davis's run for Andy Shinnies hat-trick sealer was stupendous and Shinnie himself looked very sharp. A steal. Tade too appeared to have a good day at the office and seems to work well with Shinnie.

I'll be here until the end of December (i think) before heading East so let me know when you get over and when your coming. Just PM me. Had to content myself with a couple of our feeder clubs Black isle lads. Good lads I must stress but, well, Ross County eh. Y'know? Thanks for the info guys. Yeah I know the Beeb and SPL are dafties. I can watch pretty much every Premiership game live at the weekend in Oz and the champ league (and none of those post 3pm restrictions on a Sat either) but the SPL is near impossible. Caught the Old Filth game with a couple o Gers fans in a Perth Gers supporters club. Lets just say it was an experience. Thats been it. I feel so starved of quality Caley Jag action. Though going by some results thus far so have most in Scotland. Be nice to have the option though.

Greetings compadres from, actually not so sunny today, Perth, Western Australia. Its been a wee while. Trouble is whilst I can listen to games (when Im not out on a Sat night) I cant seem to find anywhere that hows match highlights outwith the UK. Does the official site do it as obviously the BBC is a evil fascist to non UK supporters and doesn't allow to watch highlights outwith the UK. Really hoping to catch the Killie game and our wonderful 6 goals so any help would be properly top dollar.
-
Think I'll make myself available for the game. I'm currently a free agent and am comfortable on the left or right side or up front. Happy to put my 6'4 frame in the mix, where it hurts, for the cause.

It seems as though in some blind stuppor the procecutor fiscal has sought the opportunity to nail someone with the new impotus the government has on sectarianism, without being realistic in the amount of weight one witnesses statement would have in front of jury. Any intelligent member of a jury will know that a witnesses former job title has no bearing on his evidence anyway. It may be taken into consideration however most will be of the conclusion that many a law enforcer is as susceptible to sensationalism as the rest of us. Still, there should be ways around the not proven verdict, which a lot of the time essentially just says "we ken ye did it, we just canne prove it for the colour o shi...."
-
The gesture part is very difficult to prove however. The act of running in a mans direction is obviously not beyond reasonable doubt therefore unproven. It's worrying however that there isn't at least a more hardline in between breaching the peace and assault.
-
How often do police state that they can't do anything unless either a) a direct threat was made (was this the case?) or b) unless he actually made to do, or actually caused harm? In this case, no blow was thrown. At all (other than by Alan Thompson but that was entirely understandable). His behaviour WAS threatening, but does that constitute a threat of assault in the eyes of the law? More often than not it does not and is considered to be a breach of the peace. As was the case here. It could not be proven (generally a cop off) that he did threaten to attack or attack Neil Lennon. It is a complete sham, yes. Had it not been for Thompson he may well have struck him. Why should we have to wait until someone gets hurt before sorting this type of thing out? The law however was used in all it's technicalitity in this case. I hope he is banned from Tynecastle for life. A football banning order should be used. I dont know how far they can go.

It is the norm for Scottish teams to be out of Europe by August unless it's the old firm. The only difference their abject failure. Had they got through against the relative minnows they faced all would be ok. The only difference this time is they mucked it up too. I dont see how on earth 10 teams would make any difference. Just that they'll have to play the bottom teams 4 times instead of 3. Why not just go for a league of 6 then? Get rid of playing the bottom 4/6 teams. If any change is to happen, and I'd only do it to rid of the split, it has to be more and the finances in terms of broadcasting has to be more evenly spread. Ok Rangers and Celtic will get more. It has to be achknowledged (however grudgingly done that is) that they bring in the punters, especially from abroad. So they will be shown more and therefore would be seen as entitled to getting a slightly bigger slice. Whatever we do, we dont want our game to become like the Spainish league where 2 teams dominate and take all the money whilst the rest of the teams fall into debt and can't really afford to sign anyone and the 3rd placed team, millions in debt, finish 20 points behind the runner up. No we cant let that happen. That would just not be acceptable at all. Oh wait... Too late

I dont see at all how changing the teams to less with make our teams better in Europe. Only one team made any real dent on Europe in the 90s in the old Scottish Premier and that was Rangers in '93. Since then yes, the Likes of Rangers and Celtic had runs in Europe to the final and Aberdeen got out a decent group to only go out to a star studded Bayern Munich side but more often than not, most of our teams are out of Europe by August usually anyway. Occasionally the Old Firm have the forlorn hope of staying in "after christmas" but it's maybe happened half a dozen times in 20 years. Outwith that we're nearly always nearly men at best in Europe or abject. This year was no different. Making the league down to 10 just means you have to play a team at least 4 times a season for definite (which they ridiculed last season with Rangers and Celtic playing each other 7 times) so that just brings in stagnantation. 10 teams and more chance of relegation (play offs brought in) means more fear and teams afraid to rely on youth products. It's only in the last 5 years that we have finally come to terms that teams need youth development to survive. Lets not go back the way. We had this 10 years ago. It wasn't working so we changed it. Why on earth would we go back to a failed model? (Other than less teams = bigger split of tv money. Only logical explanation why teams support it.) 16 teams, 30 games and a 2 legged super cup competion at the start of the season. for League and cup winners (or runners up in league if league winners won cup) @ Hampden. 2 teams go down guaranteed. 1 team enters into a play off with the 1st division play off winners. Winner is in the SPL next season. 1st Division top 2 teams come up automatically, next 2 play each other to determine 1st division play of winners who then play 3rd bottom SPL team. This will take place between March and November (when European football finishes). During World and European championships the league would start 2 weeks earlier and finish a 2 weeks later due to high unlikelyhood of any of our players reaching latter stages anyway. The league would pause for the duration of the tournament. Teams would make their own arrangements with players as to whether they require time off (they shouldnt as their in the middle of a league season) Stadium criteria - As we probably only have 16 teams with 6000 all seater stadium we change the rule to focus soley on the all seater aspect and that the facilities in terms of toilets, food stalls, emergency exits etc all pass stringent criteria. All teams promoted will get 1 year to comply with the rules (with groundshare in use until so). If stadium is completed within the year they can resort to their own stadium providing groundshare agreement allows and there is no objection through police or security. Teams would maybe have to give a fortnights grace before next home game to allow fans to amend travel arrangements. The footballing authorities are so focussed on this tosh Mcleish report that does naught but state the bloomin obvious in some places and spraff a load of codswallap in others. I think we've seen in recent years that trusting a politician to sort something out (ie parliament building, Trams etc) is not the best way to go about something. I await the day the Scottish footballing authorities see sense and give me the job. I've made it known on a popular fans website I'd look at it if approached so they now have no reason to not do so. Thankyou and good morning!

Complete injustice. Cant believe Alan Thompson got completely off the hook after throwing a man, who was merely out for a jog (hence the tracksuit bottoms etc) to the ground, before proceeding with his partner in crime to fire a volley of hateful and threatening abuse at this dazed individual. In fact some pictures as I'll put up show him kicking the poor chap. Shocking. In all seriousness whether he admitted assault or not, he didn't commit any. His only crime was breach of the peace by invading the pitch with the intention of striking Lennon. Alan Thompson however grabbed him before any attack could take place and any contact with Lennon could be seen as both accidental and an attempt to stay footed. Therefore it cannot be proven that this contact, with testemony or not, was assault. And it cannot be proven that during the noise of a football game that the man uttered sectarian abuse. Quite simple, and in fact the correct result according to the law (I dont believe there is a charge of attempted assault in existence.)

Lets hope Chippendale can be our Rescue Ranger, especially seeing as we didn't sign any Rangers kids! (If you're older than 30 or younger than your early 20s you might not get this reference. See this See linky And with that we've already got a song for him too! On another note, does anyone think that although Terry has a fairly sound policy of finding young hungry starlets for relatively small wages down in England, we do lack many players with actual SPL experience? Or do we have a large enough backbone of SPL players already to need to worry about this? I'm not sure at all really.
-
Yeah lets get a winger/Striker thingy in.
-
Reckon it'll be a deadline day deal if anything. Some clubs might become eager to offload or loan out players come 4pm on Wednesday.

No thanks . If he cant force his way into the weakest Rankers squad in years he aint good enough for ICT . Oh yes because we can be that selective about our players?! He's obviously got some talent to have been kept on to 22 years of age, and it wasn't all that long ago Smith put him in at right back against Celtic (though his game was ruined by injury early on) Particularly when Rangers are fairly strong in the right back area and have an abundance of forwards who cant get in the team (James Beattie, David Healy). To say that because he hasn't forced himself into the league champions 1st team is hardly a slate on the player really, even if Rangers are 'weak'. They are sitting at the top of the table right now so they cant be all that bad. We are near the bottom (though hopefully not for long), henceforth it stands to reason that he might, just might, be capable of playing at our level. No?
