  1. Id like to see him on a proper contract. and get that super striker in. The new Pahars only less injury prone! (pahars was latvian right?)
  2. Could be said we deserve a few bad desicions in our favour in the coming months. This was just typical inept from McCurry.
  3. Duncan is what managers would descripe as a team player in the same way Fletcher is for Man U. His ability is questionable though.
  4. generally our pitch is good. Not suprised if some pitches have taken a battering because of some harsh winter weather. last year was warm and wet. Unless your pitch is overused (as fir park was last season) it shouldnt be too big a problem)
  5. Sorry the Daily Record hotline i've been reading has infected my fragile little mind. I now see it fit to critise everything possible. Well seeing as Gers fans say their team dont score enough (top scorers in SPL) Celtic dont spend enough (Safest finaces they've ever had - why they would ever want to go back to the early 90s) They also forget Larrson only cost 600k So I feel it nessesary to call for Butchers head after 1 defeat in 5. Scandal!
  6. Its no disgrace to lose to a good top 6 side. Motherwell must have been loving the difference in quality playing surfaces.
  7. Its a shambles. A disgrace! Nah only joking. Just want to see how many look at the topic before it gets deleted for having no purpose whatsoever.
  8. You sure? Scotland scored a try? well i never. Pigs may indeed fly.
  9. Captain leading by example. 1-1 get in there! Well done Grant! 1st of season?
  10. drat... stronger words come to mind. nice to see Cowie score. shame its not for us. St Mirren a goal and man down.
  11. I reckon Tel, Mo and Foran will all be fired up for this one. Hope so. I think Malpas seems to be a good coach but may not have TB's motivational skills. TB may not be as good a tactical coach. Perhaps Malpas notices more during the game. Helps advice TB. Either way its going well so far and hope it can continue today.
  12. Robbo's a wee bitty tubby but is that not more pie related as opposed to just a beer belly? But yes Pele successful and in rehab. But he's also got a gambling problem which suggests he has addiction problems in general unfortunately.
  13. -Esson- Tokely - Mihadjuks - Munro - Djebi Zadi Proctor - Kerr - Black - Foran - Imrie - -Odhiambo- Subs: Fraser; Duff, McBain, Vigurs, Wood, Rooney, Morais This seems most likely. Stick pretty much with status quo. Proctor scored last week and has found form in Midfield (where he looks far more comfortable) so wont be dropped. Black will come back in I imagine. Kerr will continue alongside unless Duncan is available (is he carrying a knock?) I can see where renegade is coming from with Duff. In time he should come in but not yet. He's a player for next season and if we can get Vigurs signed up on a new deal he'll probably be Blacks replacement.
  14. What a tight a**e Tb is. Only Red Smirnoff? He could at least give you a decent tasting Vodka. As in grass Vodka. None of that tattie nonsense! 2ndly anyone else think TB has a slight alcohol habit? Always on about wine. Any interview i see he somehow gets it back to the wine.
  15. I wouldnt say Killmarnock have a better pitch than ours. Hamiltons is fairly new given they had to replace the artificle surface in the summer and I've never thought either Hearts or Dundee Utd have had good pitches. Certainly no better than ours. I'll accept our pitch aint the best it's been but it's still one of the better ones. Put it this way, how many games have been called off because of our pitch? Think thats a big fat zero. I seem to remember Killie's glorious surface getting a game called off against Aberdeen recently. As has been said. Its the Record. Hardly a good paper, you only have to look at the degenerates who call in on the hotline to see how their regular readers think.
  16. hey c'mon, even i got a cap under berti vogts!
  17. Sorry what? Something about Caley (who no longer actually exist for one) not being able to purchase a small flighted insect (not sure we'd want too to be honest) Also is that the whole Caley squad put together or just better than each individual. Im not saying your gramma should be perfect, but jeez, the occasional comma and full stop would be nice! Oh and i'd take Smith and Paterson. However we've just signed Foran and he's left sided also. Are we that weak on the left?
  18. I'd take Kerr but wouldnt touch McManus. Kerr is a decent midfielder (which we'll need it seems) and I believe Butcher can get the best out of him. McManus is an average 1st division player at best. He's a wee turd too. These aren't concrete though so should this thread not be in the mill than contains rumours?
  19. Yes if Black is not part of the plans best to try to get hearts to take him now, problem is I have heard Hearts arent deperate to take him until the end of the season as they are already packed out with midfielders and need to get rid of some in the summer. Well even if we didnt lose Black now. Offer him a better deal and an improvement that kicks in when Black leaves coming into effect if we stay up. Kinda like a pre contract. Prob not the norm but sure it wouldnt violate any rules.
  20. It was a braw free kick. Alot saying goal of season material. And it is in my view. I agree with the style of player he is. I love his work ethic. That can't be trained into someone. He's a very honest player - like McBain. Not the most skilled either but he works for the cause. I do think there is one other who could score that. He used to play for us. He's a ginge. And was a wee hothead back then. Thats the clues.
  21. He has only played one compeditive game this year and that was back in the intertoto cup, Hamilton had him for 2 weeks but decided against making a move for him I'd take Kerr in a second if he can come back to anything like his form at 'Well. He'd hopefully be able to show his fitness as indeed he's not played for a while. I think Accies decided against as a) they have McArthur and Macarthy prob too similar to current players - doesnt mean he's no good. Dargo is getting back to form now. Dont think he'd leave St Mirren now. Especially as he left us for them with the central belt and a better wage packet being on offer. As for Wyness - Its a possiblity, as is Bayne. I'd take both. Go on Terry, get Robbie Fowler in! He can be the new Ritchie Hart... in the terms he is a somewhat controversial figure.
  22. A really bright prospect. Hope we can keep him and get him on a good long term contract. We've now lost Black and Fraser. Their wages should be freed up to tie up both Vigurs and Cowie on longer deals.
  23. Have to say Im fairly happy with the appointment. With the names linked he's defo one of the most high profile and has experience at top level teams. I can totally understand why the board did not appoint Robbo. Im sure it just wouldnt be right to be seen to go back again. At least not with this appointment. In the future who knows.. As for Tel I was fairly impressed with his news conference. He speaks well and articulatly which is more than can be said for some. Spoke of every game being a cup final. Stressing how staying up will make team legends (which i agree with as it's, truth be told, a very tall order.) And i liked his quip on potential signings " Well it's not Kaka. And its not Kaka's brother either" Good sense of humour at least! well better than plank of wood brewster. His record is ok. Didnt do brilliantly at either Coventry or Sunderland but that was years ago. I thought he did an immence job at Motherwell under the circumstances. He lost nigh on 20 1st team players (including Mark Brown) and had to bring in the kids to keep the team afloat. He helped steady the ship and achieved fairly good finishes in his 4 year tenure. 4 years. I'd love to have a manager that long at ICT. At Sydney it went sour when a director (also star of CSI or something) took immediate distaste to him. Pretty much wanted rid as soon as he was in the door. He didnt win the league but wasnt totally far of. As for Brentford.... left after losing 7 games on bounce without scoring...... Hang on a sec Seriously though Brentford were pants and I think he's the right man, ahead of Robbo. And definately ahead of Knox and Sutton. Good luck Tel! Please save our SPL status :thumb04:
  24. So is Barrowman :thumb04:
  25. What with reports that geography had something to do with Pressley opting for the Bairns over us (see Elvis thread) it got me thinking about why it is such a problem attracting personel to go north. It shouldnt be a problem for anyone living in Scotland to be frank. Scotland is a tiny country which can easily be covered North to South in a day. Edinburgh is a meagre 2 and a half to three hours drive away from Inverness and Glasgow similar. People in Canada (im sure Scotty could probably back this up) regularly travel distances like that to work every day, no sweat. People move to Cardiff and train it to London to work as it's cheaper to live in Cardiff and it's no problem. Even in Scotland hundreds of people commute back and forth from Edinburgh to Glasgow doing likewise without great strain. I dont get the Scottish fan mentality either. So many fans of other central belt clubs complain about how far we are to travel to. They should be thankful their not an English club. Just look at Boro, Sunderland and NU and the distance to London or worse Pompey and visa versa. I think it has more to do with peoples attitudes of ICT in that we are seen by the outside as a wee diddy team up in the sticks. Something really has to be done to change this image. It's held us back before and probably will again.
