  1. Names quoted in papers include Derek McInnes, Neal Cooper, Robbo, Pressley, Butcher, Barry Wilson, Bloaby Williamson and Ian McCall. I dont really see Pressley as a viable option. Its way too early for Wilson as a number 1. Derek McInnes has 18 months left on deal at a club nearing promotion. I dont think he'd come and I think the compensation could be pretty high. He's done a good job at St Johnstone granted, but i dont think he's our man. Think I'd be happy with Robbo or Butcher. And Neal Cooper would be an interesting one. Not least as he's ex fergie's crew from his Dons hey days. Looking at the likes of Strachan and McLeish, Bruce and such like going on and doing well in management it might be worth looking into.
  2. Think this is a different level of protest and rather than the club we love, a totally different matter and best on another thread And here is my proof. Does this mean in some way i contributed to getting a man sacked. Im quite proud of myself. And before people start slating me about it being a mans livelyhood etc i really dont care. He wasnt up to the task and like any walk of life, was shown the door and rightly so. If i worked with someone who made it hard to do my job and my life miserable i'd like to be shot of them. Survival of the fittest and all that (well maybe not in Brews case eh )
  3. I think young Bennett should be congratulated for having his own mind. Did i not suggest this type of protest months ago and get told off as it was too political etc. Seemed to work.
  4. Im pretty sure a player can opt out of a pre contract agreement. Medical or no Medical. Absolutely positive it's happened before. But I can't see it happening with Black unfortunately. I think he's made his bed and is prepared to lie in it.
  5. Ah you mean Sergio Abraham Markarian. Now i see. I did not use google honest! :thumb04:
  6. Ok thus far these names have been suggested: Pressley - no Robbo - maybe Terry Butcher - yes, did well to save Motherwell when in admin and facing relegation Bobby Williamson - Im really in two minds on one hand he did well with Killie and was doing ok at hibs but did awful in England, but is now a Uganan national hero it seems. so i dunno. Sergio Makarian - no nothing about him Steve from Exeter - id take a punt. A completely fresh face to SPL football gives chances for a fresh assessment without bias. All the players really have to prove themselves. Kevin MacDonald - nah Kenny Black - nah, succeeded by Butcher at Well Craig Brown- Maybe We won't get Derek McInnes as their looking at promotion, we would not get Billy Reid as he's picked it up at Accies I'd put a shout in for John Bomber Brown again. Doing a hard hard job at Clyde. Would command respect. Surely has a host of contacts. ( also maybe we could sign Laudrup and Albertz )
  7. Hurray at long last! Im thinking it might be a case of too little too late. Hope not though. Grassa will only be in place time new man is found. Is CC not employed in some capacity at the club. Why not get him to take temp charge till new man found. Or at least in the mix. I'd be happy to take Robbo back for the time being. See how he does till summer perhaps. I can only presume the board trusted him to make the Januray signings, and apart from Barrowman (who could come good) and Proctor re-signing his eye for a player is not bad. The players he's signed in January look ok. Perhaps after Saturday his position was deemed unatainable. He would never win the fans over now. But lets look onwards and hopefully upwards.
  8. That sums it up. The board have finally done the right thing and acted. Sorry Brew, thanks for trying, but your time was up a month ago at least. Good luck for the future. If you cant do the time don't do the crime. Every manager in the game knows when the job is taken they are under the spotlight in an intense atmosphere. Its a high pressure, high stakes job. And only the best will cut it. But anyway Best wishes. Hope the fitness and training ideology stay ingrained within the club. (though i wouldnt say he was light years ahead nowadays. Not at SPL level anyway.
  9. Awwww c'mon, just when it was getting interesting Dont stop it now! :thumb04: Think everyone's in dire straits mode now. We're all desperate and theirs not much we can do. So everyones starting to get annoyed with everyone else. This kind of scenario will always splits opinions. Some will say get behind the team, others will say we have to make our thoughts known. But hope everyone remembers we're all in the same ship (HMS Sneck i believe it's called) and we've got to be civil.
  10. I get it now, He was misquoted. 20 fans want him to stay not go. Almost 200 on a website want him to go. Coming from a home fan base of 3000, thats actually quite high (taking into consideration the amount who wont care for forums or the net. 200 would also be 10 times his original guess, which would be funny.
  11. I want Barrowman to do well but he's really starting to irritate me.
  12. Accordingly Munro "conceded" the penalty as we were just beginning to assert ourselves. Typical luck.
  13. Can everyone remember how many trialists we've had this season since the summer? And who they were? I can remember the two Latvians, Tony Dinning, Nordin Wooters, the Ugandan guy (help with his name) Did we have someone called Karim something or other?
  14. People have to remember Rooney is still only 20. Im sure he realises time is on his side and he is young and cant expect to play every week.
  15. Thanks. Obviously any laws against such would have been relaxed should they exist. Though Piracy in this country along with treason was one of the last to have the punishment of death by a good 'anging removed as recently as when Jack Straw was foreign minister.
  16. I take heart from this No.
  17. Great, not only is he tactically inept, but he can't count it seems either! Has he not noticed the average home attendance of over 3000 has been dwindling during his tenure?
  18. Esson in goals, Hastings back in for Zadi. Didnt catch the rest on the radio. He spoke to quick for me.
  19. Proctor is out with a hamstring strain according to sky sports team news. Just so we all know
  20. Experienced to me is defined by someone who has played a several seasons at the same or a comparable level (This means any top flight European league really.)
  21. It would be easy enough to inform fans of the OF beforehand and take them of them in the turnstiles. The few that would make it through could then be isolated. No one wants to upset their biggest gate reciept of the season - thats the real problem. I also don't really see why, on technically an unofficial site, you would be stopped from displaying any flag providing you didnt have any inflammatory slogans with it. Proctor, are you willing to be the first person on this thread to explain what is offensive about a Palestinian flag? As for football being about escapism and politics being left at the turnstyle - who are you to decide those things? By the way, EVERYTHING is political. That reminds me of a TV ad when one guy says to the other "I don't believe in politics" His friend then refuses to speak to him about anything after that. Fact remains is people in this country get all high and mighty about a few flags and songs. Personally i think we have it pretty cushty. Its a doddle. This rage culture we live in is somewhat irritating at times. Also would i be stopped waving a Jolly Roger flag? Due to it's links with criminal piracy.
  22. Easy, punt Zadi, McGuire and possibly Proctor (left, centre and right back) Add Izzy Sparks and we're laughing. A good solid number of 8. In fact keep proctor as a utility player and 9 is still fine. Strange type of signing for Brew if true. He certainly does not look like a "yes" man in any shape or form. More like a "i'll eat you and spit you out" kinda guy. Certainly looks a lovely chap.
  23. In the same way its wrong with people to take opinion with anything then? We dont know ALL the facts about whats happening on the ICT board but most say something has to be done. I think its everyones right to have an opinion. Is that not why we fought the Nazis? For freedom of thought and the right to speak? I think this had less to do with naivity and more to do with how comparable the Israeli attacks on civilians is not too disimilar to the Nazi's treatment of many civilians, innocent or otherwise. Which is a little more than ironic seeing as Israel was formed as a result of the war. Just because Hamas terrorists bomb Israel does not give the Israeli authorities right to bomb civilian areas. End of. Anyway i think if it is not illegal to display a flag then who are the club to ban it's display? Maybe a football ground is not the place to air political views (tell that to the OF) Maybe on the other hand its a perfect place to display your political beliefs. Its a well publicised sporting event with TV cameras. Where better some would think. Put it this way if i was to bring a Jolly Roger skull n Crossbones flag to the ground and display it, for whatever reason, is it likely i'd be asked to take it done? I dont think so to be honest, yet its probably illegal to do so. You know piracy n all that jazz.
