What is really concerning and very annoying is the amount of fans of other teams who say Brewster is awful. I know Hibs fans, Hearts fans, Old Firm fans who have all said this. All of them say they used to hate the journey up here as after a long trip they'd be expecting a tough game. Nowadays they just ask if they can just have the points beforehand to save on petrol money. Dundee Utd fans i've spoken to think we're mad to have taken him back. but the board wont listen to anyone it seems. Most employers ask for a reference.

I thought we played quite well in the 1st half and probably edged it. But sitting there wit my blue nosed chum I said "i guarantee you we'll concede in the 1st 2 minutes after half time" Maybe i should have not have spoken as, taking nothing away from an excellent finish, thats exactly what we did. I thought Black, while below his best, was one of the better players. His passing was accurate and he seemed to be the only one spreading the ball out wide and would have a dig on sight. I was baffled at McBain on the right but he played quite well. Vigurs had a good 1st half too. But disappeared in the 2nd. Cowie. If he wasnt on the team sheet i wouldnt have known he was playing. Had a good chance 1 on 1 with the keeper and took it wide on to his left (wrong) foot and it was miseed. I'd like to think a confident composed Cowie would have chipped Magregor. It seemed the best option. Duncan. Less said the better. Hastings had a tough game up against Davies but coped better than i expected. It was good to see Munro not lumping it at every opportunity. Proctor wasnt bad but he just doesnt convince as a centre half. Barrowman was given a fruitless task. He is not going to do anything without the service. People are saying Tokely had a stinker. I'd say he was up against, 1st Novo, then Burke. He then was either knackered, injured or smacked really hard in his baby makers as he looked in pain. And went off. Keeper was ok. Not alot could be done about the goals on his part. What alarms me is how easy Rangers found it in the 2nd half. They were strolling for most of it. Where were the crosses and set pieces? Everyone surely knows how crap they are at dealing with them. We didnt get near them 2nd half and they took their goals at will when needed. not much else to say.

Any chance of a place on the bench. I feel im ready to push for a place. And you could use my 6'4 physique somehow. Oh i also have the best left peg in world football. No exceptions. As for the real team i'd be happy to have 11 players playing in their best positions. Who they are im not too fussed.

1 Robbo 2 John Bomber Brown 3 Derek McInnes or Billy Reid No chance but hey Id be happy re appointing but only Robbo. Where Paterson had a great record, he's recovering now and it will be a while before he is coaching at a serious level again. John Brown has had to do alot of work at Clyde with no budget and at a team destined to fight against relegation. They dug deep at the end last season and got out of it and thats what we need. The other two have done great jobs at equal sized clubs. I'd look at most managers in the 1st. I dont like watching Bloaby Williamsons teams. Its all long ball. Both Hibs and Killie fans loathed it. We are historically a footballing side in my opinion. In reply to the DoF. Out of grazza or Beaton my answer is neither. I'd rather not have one at all. An immense waste of money in my opinion. If you cant trust a manager to sign someone on his terms (fair enough have a money man there too) then it can be a point of friction.

I think its his seemingly apparent love for the club. His staunch defence of them every week shows this. He has done well before. He was here when we won the league, the challenge cup, got promoted. He embodies the clubs feel good factor of days past. Whether a 2nd tenure would work is entirely different but their is no question to his close affinity with the fans. Us. Even when he did leave he went with dignity and respect (unlike someone else) I wouldnt take Rowan Alexander ever. His players wanted rid of him because of the way he was acting. Placed on gardening leave. asked to go to councilling. Put Dr Deucher in the reserves for nothing (something the player still doesnt know why he did. No arguement. just dropped.) He seemingly went doolaly He turned up 1st game to take charge when everyone knew he was not welcome. It distressed the players to the point where they spoke out how it almost ruined their SPL debut. I wouldnt mind a punt on John Brown at Clyde. They've had no end of problems down there with a complete collapse after their promotion chase. Financial, a complete team strip down. everything. Had to build from scratch. He's got a lot of contacts as we saw with getting Albertz to turn out and then Laudrup and Numan v Rangers (money spinner) But we all have a soft spot for Robbo.

In all fairness i did tout Elvis in the summer and Brew did nothing. With his apparent wish to stay in Scotland i'd even have thought we'd have beaten Randers to his signature. Sadly we did nothing. Not a jot. And we have been leaking goals left right and centre. Good to see the manager finally making positive moves on that front. Hopefully we can look at experience at the other end too. He may not be the ideal solution. He is getting on, slow to turn and so forth. Im sure we'd all love to have someone 5 years younger. But thats not going to happen However he does lead the line superbly. Has no issues putting his head where it hurts. Has more experience than anyone at ICT in any capacity. Including Brewster. He works for Scotland also. Look at how both Webster and Berra benifited from working with him. I think of Duff and think this could work out well for both club and player. Others on page 1 asked why not offer Wilson this part time coaching job that Elvis may be tempted by. Simple fact is Wilson wanted to play. He wants to get that last bit of playing out. Thats his priority. He wasnt playing here. Sure he could have coached but he wanted 1st team football as well which he wasnt going to get. Pressley will more than likely play every week. Although he probably aint fit enough in Brews eyes so we wont see him till April. All considered i think it's a good move. But it doesnt mean i want Brewster to stay as i still dont think he has what it takes. And it will take alot to change this viewpoint.

In other words. "we just hit the delete button normally and have a fairly well used waste paper bin"

Personally i dont nessecarily see Brewster as a bad coach. Calderwood is probably on the button in saying he has good coaching skills. And not nessecarily just as a fitness coach as often touted on this site. He may be a decent all round coach. Unfortunately for us it seems, he is woeful in a management position and his man management skills are somewhat lacking. As a person he lacks charisma. I've seen more character in a plank of wood than at his post match interviews. But to say Aberdeens funeral. Id say no. He'd probably work well with JC.

English teams are often somewhat unwilling to loan players of quality cross border as it would have to be til the end of the season. Southgate was unwilling to loan that young left winger to rangers because of this. Loaning to another English team and he can have him back in 3 months(or whatever the loan term is) 2ndly its doubtful Reading would loan him to a team other than Southhamton if he has already been on loan there. If they had a defensive crisis they wouldnt be able to play him as players unable to play for 3 clubs in the same year etc. Muscat is surely a joke suggestion. As really are any of the A league players quoted. They're all either over the hill or not good enough. Has Steven Pressleys contract at Randers not ended (sure it was short term till winter) He's probably over the hill too but at least he knows the SPL inside out. Hang on, wait a minute. We could offer him a player manager job eh? He's in with the Scotland lot too. Could be able to get names in and contacts. And SFA favours. Scott Wilson is a decent shout. At least he's been in the division. We should look at the teams with the best defences and start there. I really cant think of any 1st divison defenders that really stand out. Then again i no longer really follow that division - maybe i should start soon. Anyway rules for our central defensive signings under Brew are simple. You can either not defend, not play there, or both. Sadly all suggests fail to meet these quota

Levein criticising Billy Reid's tactics Aye fair enough Harry but I'm sure you knew what I meant...... Levein never actually critisised Reids tactics as such, moreso his comments that Hamilton played good fotball when he felt they had in fact tried everything not to play.(time waste. constant fouling etc) Jimmy Calderwood should get his facts straight. ICT have done well on a limited budget, that is true. But as soon as Brewster took over we are no longer. This is mainly due to his tactical negligence and lack of know how. Not the lack of funds or players of sufficient standard. Why should we have to settle, as fans and a club, for not trying to exceed expectations? If we do settle, we may as well give up. Dreams and pushing for those dreams are what gets anyone to succeed. Resy your laurels and you'll be left behind. Craig Brewster epitimises resting on your laurels. In fact he is more of a destroy everything thats been worked for. Old firm fans constantly barrack their managers even when doing well. But they are usually proved in time WRONG and that they dont really know that much. However, It really does say something when the fans say they are desperate for a defender and are then proved CORRECT by the stats (1 clean sheet all season is surely proof) We have been proved RIGHT when we said we needed a bit of experience up front. Our goal record and toothless and thankless efforts in the final 3rd show this. Wyness and Bayne would have done nicely. Again we are let down by the club for not negotiating contracts at the start of the year in january for key players like Black. Had he been offered a deal then i think the temptation of other clubs waiting to snap him up would have been too far off and he'd sign a new deal knowing that continuing to play well could earn him a transfer anyway. Please Craig, go now.

Was Brewster born on Christmas day? If thats the case theirs only one thing for it. We make a cross, strap him to it and the rest is easy. But we'll have to do it before march.
-
The only part I would disagree with is even if we do get 100k for black you think that is a good piece of business??? He's from Tranent. Thats technically his home. So it is not a fact that gorgies his home. If he goes now we get hardly any money. Probably none going by hearts record of payment. Can Hearts afford to take him now, they have been late on wages and cant afford 15k (plus interest) to arbroath?
-
I think the main problem that has been raised here is how many players seem to play well, despite, in spite of, considering (usually out of position or doing something odd) Brewster's corner routine probably consists of saying "eh aim for eh eh Black" (him being the big man and all that) Proctor is a decent 2nd choice defensively minded right sided player. Not a centre half. If Craig Levein says a player aint SPL quality though, as one of the best managers in the game and the man who should have got the Scotland job, i have to respect his opinion. 4-5-1 can work if used using the right player on the correct side of the pitch. I dont see cowie as the attacking right winger. Imrie left yes but cowie should be the attacking mid with Black, Duncan, Vigurs on McBain in Behind. In saying that i prefer 4-4-2

Whether or not Robbo is the right man for the job is up for debate. I like the guy and love what he has done for us. He was a right wee moany git though, passionate to the core, but moany. I doubt Bazza would come back now as he's looking for a regular game before his career ends. He'll not get that at Caley under any manager i would think. Im pretty sue he's not ready to retire yet so becoming an Assistant may not be on his mind right now. Getting in Dunc Shearer and CC on the team would be popular i believe. Thats a good shout. Lets get rid of No Clue Brew 1st though eh.
-
No one even suggest it if Brew leaves.
-
Read the heading and thought more false hope but i wish he would. I think I speak for 85% of people on here that we all hope this is true.
-
I think Proctors 3 best positions are 1st at right back. 2nd Right Mid then perhaps as a holding mid of sorts. Then as a centre half. But a natural centre half he is not and he doesnt look a better one than either Maguire or Duff. If he is then we are seriously in the crap.
-
I dont listen to his post match comments any more. Sick of listening to the bull that comes out of his mouth. Jimmy Calderwoods comments probably closer to the mark. A comfortable victory. But the Inverness lads worked hard. In other words ran around like headless chickens.
-
He's not a centre half. Definately not. Your completely right there. And i think this may be the reason for the rest of your point in him not being comfortable there. But Brews the boss. He knows best eh? I say dispose of Maguire, keep Proctor as he's versitile (just not at centre half) and bring in someone with aerial command and strength. If not available, play Duff.

I wouldnt be suprised with this idea of fitness fitness fitness in training under Brew. Football, whilst a job, has to be made enjoyable for the players in training. They have to want to turn up every day. Most players play for the love of the game(and good money) and that must be kept installed at all times. If your job sucks and bores you, you aint going to be motivated and wont perform. Its common sense. Sports players are no different It doesnt explain the amount of goals we concede just before half time. You'd think in training we'd work on stopping for 15 minutes and then not conceding. I can only imagine the team looking like they've been given temazepam has alot to do with Brewsters half time team talk.

Think this is a different level of protest and rather than the club we love, a totally different matter and best on another thread Stevico1. This was meant as a joke. But the sentiment remains. Showing someone he is not welcome. And the reason why im not going to do a list of names harry is i cannot be bothered as the list would be a touch long. And thats just the shortlist.

This thread still exists?! Who'd have thought eh?
-
It was nasty But a good one nonetheless
-
Every manager in the 1st division Every Manager currently out of work Thats the answer to your question Harry. Any one could do a better job at present
-
1st of all CC got as much abuse??????? I think not. He had his critics sure but the distain most have for Brew is 10 times that of CC at his worst. 2nd The fans wouldnt be responsible. The manager has taken us into the precarious position. Blackburn reacted befoe things could get too out of hand. WE must do the same. And the way to let everyone know this is getting our voices heard.
