  1. There speaks the words of a true ICT fan...........................................................fae Dundeh
  2. Insult?! You should hear the sh*t he calls me! Sheesh! The 2 times we've been at Hampden previously were in the Scottish cup not the league cup. Let's also remember that if we do get to the next round we will meet another SPL side, so a big ask to get to the final. And... even if we do get to the final we WILL NOT play at Hampden as no football will be played there after November. (although many say no football has been played there for a long time, etc, etc. yadda, yadda!) May I suggest you go back and re-read the article about the Hampden closure. Check the month but especially check the year.
  3. I'm with PMF. I hope they stay up but below us. It breaks my heart to see the position Midden are in at the moment but I think they will drop way down. Aberdire are dire. Dundee may manage to pull something off after the next window but they could be cut off well before then. I vote County for eleventh.
  4. can we have a whip round to buy a new mic for the big man commentating on the half time challenge. That one is fekked and cant broadcast whole words.
  5. Tired now after the 240 mile round trip but also elated. Think I'll just pour myself a wee dram to celebrate.
  6. We are top six Luke...........at least until 4.45 tomorrow. That was some game. We totally outshone County in the first half. The look of relief on Tokely's face when his attempted clearance header hit the crossbar was something else. It would have been so funny had that gone in. Can that lad Roberts jump? He beat Tokes to almost every ball in the air. Very impressed with the transformation from the team I watched at Midden. They are playing some good football but we do make things hard for ourselves at times. For a good twenty minutes to half hour of the second half we were under the cosh, especially after they scored, and any forward runs we made were wasted because most of our players seemed frightened to cross the halfway line. All in all though the game was enjoyable and well worth the journey.
  7. Housework done. Dog attended to. Picnic tea all ready and packed. Just need missus home from work then the long drive begins. Unfortunately, due to nobody being able to watch dog overnight, the celebration will be the long drive back south.
  8. Its time that linesmen were utilised more. The linesman has to be doing his bit to referee the game. We know that the ref cant always see everything but what he cant see should be seen by at least one of the other officials and they should take the decision. Overrule the ref if need be. Perhaps there should even be two linesmen on each side to give greater all round coverage of the pitch.

  10. Sooz this is only 2012. We will have our times at Hampden this season............long before it closes in November 2013.
  11. Mahonio we played Scottish Cup semi against Dundee in 2003 after knocking Celtic out in quarter final. We lost 1-0. The following season we played Dunfermline and drew 1-1. They beat us 3-2 in replay at Pittodrie. Craig Brewster played for them then.
  12. 3rd time........we've been there twice before.
  13. The last three times he officiated at our games we never lost. 1-1 at Ibrox, 3-0 at home v Motherwell and 2-1 away to Hamilton. He even gave a penalty in the Hamilton one. Didn't he make an international c*ck-up and lose his FIFA badge?
  14. C'mon folks!! Whats the problem. We are the SPL team lucky enough to draw the third div team. Hampden here we come.
  15. No.....ban begins one hour before k.o until after the final whistle. Who was mouthing off at the ref? Butcher made his comments to the press.

  17. Red up, black down or vice versa? Think the clue might be in the minus sign before the number!
  18. Iain Brines. quote from his SFA site profile: If you could referee a match between any two teams and at any venue, which teams and where? The Highland derby being back looks good (have been an assistant once) and the Dundee derby would complete the set for me. Coincidence or what?
  19. We may stop using it as an energy source but we'll still need it for many of its other properties. Synthetics, lubricants, drugs, adhesives, plastics etc. Indeed many of the materials used in the building and running of our wind farms are from oil derivitives.

  21. I dont want us to be clones of any other nation. I want us to be a nation setting the standards. And Charles when the oil runs out you'll not be in a position to worry. You'll have been buried for a very long time. The oil running out argument is about the only one left that the anti's have but they dont seem to understand that it cant actually run out. When new reserviors were found in the sixties and seventies the estimated recoverable was around 20%. Now, due to advances in technology, that estimate is around 40%. That leaves a hell of a lot of oil and gas still in the ground that, as technology develops further, will be recoverable. There are also vast area's of land and sea that have been unexplored and undeveloped as yet. Scotland will be producing oil and gas well into the next century.
  22. objective
  23. The sad state of Scottish football. An U-21squad for a couple of friendlies has eight players based in England Goalkeepers Jordan Archer (Tottenham Hotspur) Christopher Kettings (Blackpool) Defenders Joe Bryan (Bristol City) Kieran Duffie (Falkirk) Ryan Jack (Aberdeen) Fraser Kerr (Birmingham City)* Clark Robertson (Aberdeen) Murray Wallace (Huddersfield Town) Midfielders Stuart Armstrong (Dundee United) Fraser Fyvie (Wigan Athletic) Jason Holt (Heart of Midlothian) Rhys McCabe (Sheffield Wednesday) Callum McGregor (Celtic) Kenneth McLean (St Mirren) Forwards Dale Carrick (Heart of Midlothian) Dylan McGeouch (Celtic) Cameron Park (Middlesbrough) Anthony Watt (Celtic) And our top squad for WC qualifiers has four home based players. Three of those from Celtic. Scotland squad (in alphabetical order) Charlie Adam (Stoke City) Christophe Berra (Wolverhampton Wanderers) Scott Brown (Celtic) Gary Caldwell (Wigan Athletic) Darren Fletcher (Manchester United) Steven Fletcher (Sunderland) James Forrest (Celtic) Daniel Fox (Southampton) Matt Gilks (Blackpool) Grant Hanley (Blackburn Rovers) Alan Hutton (Aston Villa) James McArthur (Wigan Athletic) Allan McGregor (Besiktas) Jamie Mackie (Queens Park Rangers) Shaun Maloney (Wigan Athletic) David Marshall (Cardiff City) Russell Martin (Norwich City) Kenny Miller (Vancouver Whitecaps) James Morrison (West Bromwich Albion) Charlie Mulgrew (Celtic) Steven Naismith (Everton) Matt Phillips (Blackpool) Jordan Rhodes (Blackburn Rovers) Robert Snodgrass (Norwich City) Andy Webster (Heart of Midlothian) A few years ago there would hardly be a player in the youth squads from outside Scotland. Now we're scraping the lower leagues of England to put a team together. What does that say about the state of the game at home? Are the southern based players of dubious nationality because we dont have a good youth development set up or are they down there because our top leagues aren't good enough for them? Personally I think its a very sad reflection on the state of our game and a kick in the teeth for the clubs who are developing young players not to see all of the youths with SPL teams beside their name in the squad lists. I think it should be a criterea of national youth football that they only choose and develop players who play within their own border. At least then the kids would have something realistic to aim for.
  24. Levien does not know how to form an attacking team
