Passed the rugby club this afternoon just as the boys put one in against Celtic - any score updates?

A friendly against HL will be just that - no player wants an injury on their weekend off from league business. Need competitive matches to prep the youngsters.

I see the price has been bumped up too, wonder what cost for the final matches, should we get there? I'd say the spfl should know this will affect reported attendances, but I'm sure they are aware and couldn't give a toss anyway.

I don't think there has been a rush of criticism for 'looking tired' or whatever, maybe one poster stated this, but you seem to have commented on it a couple of times. There have been comments, correctly stating that it was perhaps lacklustre, poor at times, and maybe they were at times playing within themselves. All of the above may have been true from various viewpoints but are not necessarily seen as criticism. Looking uninterested or in holiday mode, if it were true would be more serious accusations but whether or not this was the case is anyone's guess. The number of games played recently in quick succession is more of a factor than the overall 50 games this season, but as they are professional athletes who by now won't be training very hard between games it should just be a case of injury management. It is up to the coaching staff, again professional's, to look after this with regards to the upcoming games. So it's into the ice baths again and some Pilates for a few days then game faces on for Tuesday where we will be facing a stronger team than Ayr United at home. Hopefully the performance is up a notch or two...

If we get a good offer we'd struggle to turn it down...and it's not just the gudgies who may be looking.

You could tell from some of the moves Ayr made, to get the ball quickly up the park - they have practised these in training, the way everyone involved knows what is coming and where to run. Seldom do you see the same coherent plays from us - what do we work on in training??

As long as we take our chances. Ayr will be up for it, straight from kick off, we will get opportunities , we wont have to go looking for them.

If we are looking at a colt side, would this be any cheaper than a reserve side?? Not sure how the finances work on this but wasn't cashflow the reason for Bunning reserves??

So we have to fill a joe chalmers sized hole in midfield, allegedly, as well as Polworths slot. Things getting interesting. Not sure if he's the player the gudgies need to kick on in the premier...Ferguson & kettlewell taking easy option already...oh dear.

Vincent didn't quite fill Shinnies boots, albeit he was a different sort of midfielder. Not quite sure about players returning after a time away anyway. We can build or resurrect careers for players once but twice may be pushing it.

We're lucky to have play offs at all - used to be one up one down and a stadium criteria in place to prevent wee teams getting promoted.

Good to see the big yins goal drought has finally ended,its been a while , also pleasing to see Trafford has 2 goals to his name as well. Great things are expected on Saturday!!
