  1. "I take it that he played Cowie on the rite and Vigurs in central midfield ?" Nope. McBain played on the right, Vigurs on the left and Cowie infield. Thought McBain played well especially cutting in but as the game went on the Partick players sussed this and were forcing him out wide and stopping him passing the ball to his left foot, as he can't cross with his right this took him out the game. A better club will do this for the entire game, I don't understand why he persists with players on the wrong side.
  2. My god, did you hear him?!?! We were beaten in the first half by a world class goal otherwise we played really well. Then in the second half we made 2 errors, apart from that there was nothing between the 2 teams. I had to laugh so I didn't cry.
  3. Just read on teletext that Brewster has said the story's aren't true and Djebi Djabi hasn't been released. Says if anyones to be released it will be by him and he will tell the player first
  4. I don't know about sounding out of breath but he does speak like there's a full stop every 4 words in what he's saying. "You have to do it. come 3 o'clock."
  5. United actually want to keep him but he's homesick, so no chance of him coming here
  6. Just heard a bit of sportsound and they said they'll be speaking to Brewster later in the programme about why he's having to show that he's the boss. It then played a small clip of him saying Black made some comments after the Kilmarnock game and he needs to apologise to the rest of the team.
  7. Thought it was funny when he ran out of his dugout about 15 mins into the game and shouted at one of his own players (not sure which one) "Any chance of you starting playing today"
  8. At the Hearts game Brewster was shouting at the defence and Mike whenever they had it to "hit it up to Marius" so he's actually telling them to hoof it! Munros never been good at passing though, so maybe it's better he just hoofs it or passes it to Tokely or Hastings who can pass. That's not a criticism though as I rate Munro and most central defenders at our level can't pass the ball (more a criticism of coaching in this country)
  9. Is this game pay at the gate? Can't find any info about it on here or the official website.
  10. Under Brewster our away record wasn't bad but our home record was awful. Didn't we go on a huge run with no home wins? This was due to the fact he could only get the team to play one way which was more suited to the away games, he had no plan B when it wasn't working. If this happens again then fans that pick and choose games are going to stop coming and the attendences will fall. I shall carry on going to the games but I really don't think I'll have the same excitement and optomistic feeling before games :007:
  11. Well done to Barry Wilson after todays game, was stood by the wee boy who he gave his boots to, he made that lads season. :clapping03:
  12. Charlie quoted on teletext as saying he was going to play some young players but he's not going to now as it would be unfair to Dunfermline and St Mirren not to play the first team. I can see his point but surely one or two wouldn't make that much difference, especially as for our players it's an end of season game (not questioning their professionalism but can see how it would be hard to be as motivated as normal) whereas any youngster coming in would be busting a gut to show what they could do.
  13. Cheers. Think that's where we're going to watch it. My brother lives in London so he's been there before, he's a Dundee United fan but will be cheering for us that day.
  14. Shall be in London the weekend of our cup game against Celtic :009: with the game being on Sky was wondering if anyone knew any pub to watch it in. My brother said there's a scottish pub called the Rob Roy that might show it or some of the Irish pubs but they'll be full of Celtic fans.
  15. Does anyone know if you can pay at the gate? The official site says you can buy tickets tomorrow so does that mean I have to go to the portacabin and purchase them? I have a season ticket and normally buy a ticket for my seat so I've never had to do this before but only found out today that I'm free to go tomorrow. :003:
  16. As a fan I occasionally think how can he be happy with that performance? or why isn't he angrier? However on the radio last week the pundits were praising Charlie for the way he doesn't get carried away after a good result but neither does he go over the top when we get a bad result.
  17. I agree that Russells best games were under Pele, but never at right back?! It was when he was the holding player in the middle of a 5 man midfield. He used to completely dictate the game, helping the back 3 and spraying the ball about all over the park, thought he was excellent. That's not to say I don't rate him anymore. I thought he finished last season really well and was one of the only players to come out with any credit in the first game against St Mirren, which is why I find it a shame he hasn't played since. At least we have the problem of too many good players.
  18. Think it was the change of formation that changed the game today (as well as the Falkirk keeper :015:) But while everyone is praising Hart I have to say I thought Wyness did more when he came on than most of the others did in the whole game. His link up play was excellent and the use of his ball was intelligent, he even managed a couple of Wyness shuffles which haven't been seen for a while.
  19. Must be hard trying to get people up here to pay to get in a game. Was speaking to someone who works for the council yesterday and a firm he went to offered him 4 corporate season tickets for nothing as he couldn't get any of his men to use them, how can a whole firm (not sure what size they are) have workers that don't even want to go to a game for free? :007:
  20. Guess we'll find out by midnight. Who knows which sources are correct as Forth radio apparently said Falkirk have had a bid for Jon Stewart accepted. A St Johnstone fan said they had him on trial earlier but Owen Coyle said he wasn't good enough, lucky escape?
  21. Teletext says we were discussing a deal for John Stewart with Aberdeen but it was wrecked when Lee Millers move to Aberdeen fell through after United refused to pay him off. Has Charlie quoted as saying "We've made a few moves but nothing has come of them. I'm not worried as I'm happy with my squad" :007:
  22. Where did you read that? Just wondering as it has Dods quoting on teletext that he'll see out his contract now and won't sign any pre-contract with any team, he will wait until the end of his contract before deciding what to do.

    SPL 2ND Tier

If this idea had been taken on when we were on our way up the leagues we would have been denied promotion to the SPL2 as we never had 3000 seats, that is just scarey. I still don't see what's in it for the SPL clubs as surely the money will be even less when divided between more clubs? I don't for one minute believe it's for the good of the game.
  24. I agree with RiG, I think Dennis played OK against St Mirren and really well in the first half against Aberdeen, I don't understand where all the criticism has come from. I think if he finally gets one in the net he'll go off on a scoring run. I don't agree about Baynes ariel threat, I think for a big guy his heading is really poor - seems to have no sense of timing. In fact a lot of our team seem poor at heading, outwith the defence the best player we have in the air is Black! What does he put in his boots that he can spring that high?

    Black & Proctor

After today I think they'd be mad to go to United. I went to the Dundee derby and sat in the United end (my brother was playing in the fans game beforehand) and the abuse they gave their players was unreal. People complain about negativity at some of our games but I've never heard anything like today. From about 5 mins into the game it was just pure vitriol, really encouraging. I'll also add that United were absolutely awful and they were lucky that Dundee weren't very good. Bobby Mann marked Brewster out the game :015:
