Too Negative

Have we become too negative recently, especially away from home.

I know our current league position is dictating the way we set out our stall, but have we become too intent on achieving a draw away from home. We have been hugely disappointing since we mugged Rangers. Tamely going down 4-0 at Falkirk and a gutless defeat yesterday at Aberdeen. For me, the manner of the defeat is the biggest disappointment, not being able to create much in the way of goal scoring opportunities whilst clinging on to hold out for victories against St Mirren and Kilmarnock at home. Two teams we should have cruised to victory against, but were unable to make the most when in the ascendancy.

For the most part of the season, we have failed to punish teams. Thank Christ for Kilmarnock, they could well prove to be our saviour. So, next week against Hamilton, lets bury them good and proper and if all goes well at the end of the next round of fixtures, we could, could, jump up a few places and help our pathetic goal difference into the batgain.

Let's go for it on Saturday. Three plus goals would do nicely.

I wasn't at Pittodrie yesterday, but by all accounts they had a decent 1st half then fell apart in the 2nd...

Kind of makes me wonder what the differences were between TB's and JC's half-time team talks.

I agree with the lot.

Falkirk have lost 4-0 and 3-0 their last two games, and they are on -16 GD compared to our -20! We need to get that pumped up a bit. Hamilton is the team to do it against!

Ill be there saturday, and the way Hamiltons team is just now with injuries, we need to stamp our mark all over them!

Mannie - we have a team who only just about deserve to be in the SPL - Blame the feckin muppets and Brewster fer that - We are in a situation where points mean prizes and not performances - This is brown trouser time.

I wholeheartedly agree, Oh Immmortal one !

Next Saturday i'll be at the game fully equiped with Nappy liners & incontinence pads .

3 points or deep sh*t :rotflmao:

Read the opening post again ya dorkender. We all know it is squeaky bum time, but should we be so defensive, or should we be more aggressive, and we all know who left us in the doo doo.

What I am saying is get stuck in to Hamilton, kilt or no kilt.

I see where you're coming from Manny, but with our goal difference already looking horrendous and a chance that it could matter at the end of the day then I don't think we can afford to be going silly away from home and risking further results like the 4-0 at Falkrik.....and if we can play stuffy and grind out a point then that's what needs to be done.

We've got ourself to the edge of the mire, it's now about keeping things tight and avoiding the slip backwards. It's not pretty, it's not entertaining and it is extremely frustrating....but needs must, IMO.

We can perhaps afford to have more of a go at the teams around us (and should be doing so). I think we did that against St Mirren, although we got off to a slow start, and I would expect us to do the same again against Hamilton....after that then it's about seeing how things sit post-split.

To be honest, we should be stuffing Hamilton as they are a pretty poor team.

Our goal difference will be important, and a healthy win this weekend, coupled by some favourable results will see us in a much healthier position.

All going well, Saints goal difference will be worse before next week and it only needs a two goal swing in the vital matches for us to be sitting pretty.

..........on the other hand....

i agree with Caley D with every word.

Falkirk have lost 3-0, 4-0 and 1-0, they cant play for stuffy draws by the looks of things. a draw means our goal difference stays the same, let them sink thier own ship i say. every point counts, but so does every goal they concede compared to ours.

One thing for sure.. we need to be a hellofalot more positive than we were yesterday.
