What would be the views for a cheap annual subscription to use this site which could be voluntary but should be expected from regular users, with a logo by your avatar indicating that you are a fan sponsor. ?4 pa, ?1 under 16 and oaps ?

The cash could be used solely for the benefit of the fans,so its a good cause, IE, it could be used to buy new skins for broken drums at TCS or make a parachute style ICT fc flag, I have mentioned the Inness bar in the past or any other business who would want to sponsor one and put their name on it too and in the long term set up funds to establish- Inverness Caledonian Thistle Vision.

As long as the money is used wisely,for the benefit of the fans and not paying for p1ss ups then I would happily donate.

If anything positive came from this, it would gladden my heart to know that I helped make that happen with just a small annual contribution.

We already have a Supporters Club and a Supporters Trust....whilst I can't speak for the Supporters Club, I can say that the Trust would almost certainly be willing to assist with the kind of things you mention (within reason).

One of the drummers mentioned on here before about drum skins being needed and I asked for details on size/type and was going to sort them out with replacements, but they never ever got back to me.

I also know that their was some discussion over a large flag/banner in the past, but issues raised by the club put pay to any ideas of anything more substantial than what exists among the fans at present.

Not trying to put a damper on the ideas...quite the opposite. I just don't see any need to create another fans group, with another set of administration and operational costs/efforts when we have groups already in place that could assist and contribute.

How about inviting members of the Club Board, Supporters Trust and Supporters Club into the chat room once a month for a dialogue with ordinary fans and see what can be done within skillset capabilities and budgets?

Well its good to know that the supporters club and trust are prepared to reinvest in the fans.

And here was me thinking that the money raised was fed directly into the club.

Its heartening to know that the right people are involved to make things happen.

In the Trusts last financial year (to end of August) we distributed over ?12,000 of funds to various projects.

Whilst some of that money went to the club it was not directly....we do not simply hand them wads of cash. We purchased a defibrillator for them and provided the ball boys with new jackets. We also purchased some season tickets which we make available for use by kids/youth groups.

The majority of the money went to Youth Football, both those connected with ICT (Everything from U17's down is a separate company which operates as a charity and, as I understand it, gets no financial assistance from the club) and the Inverness Street League who we provide with strips and various training kit.

The Trust is not a bottomless pit of money, but we're always open to suggestions and ideas for where we can be giving assistance (and ideas and help with raising money in the first place). I sometimes think the Trust should be shouting more about what we do, and given that some people have this perception that we feed funds raised direct into the club I may be right.

Personally, I would not be in favour of administrating that through this site. We already have a subscription option which some folk use and that helps with our running costs (as well as giving the sponsors an almost ad-free forum).

I think CaleyD is correct - it is something that should be done through a body such as the supporters trust and where we would be happy to help in any such scheme is by displaying a "donate" or "subscribe" button that would allow users to click something on this site but pay directly to whoever is running it.

PS - having once touted the "pay-a-player" scheme in the past, I have my doubts that a scheme like this would be long-lived. When trying to get the previous scheme off the ground, I had loads of interest from businesses and individuals who loved the concept but when it came down to asking them to actually part with the cash it was a different story.
