Butch being a bit too harsh?

Apparently, our Terry reckons Robert Green should be dropped after his clanger last night. Now....I rate Green as one of the best Goalers in the Premiership, and have seen him pull off many blinding saves in his time. Would Terry be so quick to walk the walk if Esson had a howler? Would he drop him so quickly? I dont think so somehow!

Anyway....for me....thus far.....Greens howler was hilarious and the highlight of the World Cup so far!

i would drop him myself...i think joe hart should be given the nod and deserves the chance to continue what has been good form and to show that he can cut it....dodgy ground for capello though..does he lose faith in green and go for untried hart? lose faith in green and go for calamity james? or stick with green and potentially get slated for letting him have more howlers.....

not a choice i would like to be having to make

before anyone says it i would have played hart ahead of green anyway so thats why i would drop him

No, basically because we have nobody else to go in goal...

One swallow does not a Summer make.

C,mon, the fella should be cosseted and kept in goal. There is no ned to destroy him just because he had one slip up.

Got to keep Green in goal for comedy value alone  B)

GO GREEN WE KNOW IT MAKE SENSE!

ha :D

tbh I think the best think the England team can do is support him and keep behind him cause if esson did the same I'm sure we'd still be supporing him.

ps Lets Hope He Makes Another

I'd probably stick with Green. He may have made one freak mistake, but he also had one excellent save as well.

Green is IMO the worst of the 3 keepers they have but to drop him now would send out all the wrong signals, besides I think he's pants so want him to play.

Seaman, James, Robinson, Carson, Kirkland, Green... what is it about keepers pulling on the england shirt. It seems like the national equivalent of a Hibs shirt when it comes to keepers!

From hence forward if you ever hear an english person take the p*sh out of a Scottish keeper I say it's only appropriate that they receive a good, swift, sharp kick in the spuds. What you saying now Jimmy Greaves you f**kin peasant?!

I am really puzzled as to why he didn't choose a goalkeeper till 2 hours before. A goalkeeper needs to have good communication with the defenders and the defenders need to have faith in their keeper. Personally I would let Michael Fraser in Goal before putting James anywhere near. Joe Hart should have got the nod and a lot sooner than two hours before, but now he has made a commitment with green he should honour it. One game is not enough to go on, one goal let in is not that bad and he made amends with that save in the second half. why not give Rooney pelters for not even looking like he could score.
