Who will they target as a replacement?

They had contracts, I think they were just struggling to find working pens with which to sign them...

Steve Paterson & Duncan Shearer didn't have contracts when they left us for the Dons.

I thought they had 6 months left on their deal when the Dons swooped? Which they kept quiet, so that the Dons would give us a higher sum to sign them.

That seems to be working well for Aberdeen :tongueincheek:

Read in the P&J that TB is the 4th longest serving manager in the SPL - and he's not been here 2 years. Reid is the longest serving. This manager merry-go-round is not good for the game.

Totally agree. Where is the incentive to do even a half-decent job if there is a level of uncertainty and paranoia wondering when the axe will fall? Only the ugly sisters ever win the league, so best you can hope for is a reasonable placing and possible entry in European competition and / or a good cup run. Taking local cups out of the equation, that leaves you with two. And since the ugly sisters usually win at least one of those each year . . .

Ok poor choice of words, was in a rush when i posted this earlier.

There are players such as Vernon, Maguire, Aluko, McArdle etc who havent played well under McGhee. But if anyone is going to get the best out of them Craig Brown will, their backline is in need of serious work, they have so many players playing out of position there.

I think their backline is just garbage to be honest. Zander Diamond is really poor and hasn't improved in a few seasons now and Considine is much the same. As for Ifil - lol covers it quite well. Throughout the team there is a derth of quality. Vernon looks quite good and the experience of Hartley is a boost for the team but even Maguire blows hot and cold and isn't consistent enough. Put simply Aberdeen are good enough and I think Brown has a big task to get them stabilised and moving up the table.
