Safe Standing

First off I apologise if this has been discussed previously.

http://m.stv.tv/sport/football/clubs/celtic/289210-explained-how-safe-standing-would-work-in-scotland/

Is this something which the club could take the lead on and set an example to the rest of the SPL?

The lack of atmosphere at home games is well renowned and in my opinion the prawn sandwich brigade's almost constant negativity effects our home performances, could this be a possible solution?

I for one fully support the safe standing campaign.

Only so that clubs who do not currently meet the 6000 seater and under soil heating requirements will not have to. New set up still ridiculous. Would be good to see the club take the lead on this in the SPL

It‘s very simple.

Take for example the top 10 rows of the north stand.

Kenny Cameron or Peter Macallam tell the stewarding company (that ICT employ) that this is a standing area. The fans come in (one fan to a seat) standing and watch the game. They arent blocking any views and if the stewards regulate it so that it is one person standing per seat then it is ‘safe‘........ (Insert Meerkat gif)

What happens if someone in row 11 wants to sit?

Precisely! Thats why there needs to be a clear standing SECTION so everyone knows that this particular section (sectionE for example) is standing only whilst all the rest are sitting!

I've said it before the west stand should become a prototype for rail-seats! Even if we just had 50 or 100 to start with, it would be a great guide to see if it works and can be managed (which i totally believe it can). Not only that it would create alot of good publicity for the club ie. The FSF are currently running a campaign through Westminster trying to gather support from football league clubs to bring in rail-seats in England. If we were able to get rail-seats and show Britain it can be managed properly and safely we would be doing alot for our fellow football supporters!

Ps. Like jamie, i would happily buy my own railseat!

If it's the top ten rows then anyone wanting to sit behind would be doing so in the car park.

As Fraz stated. I was referring to top 10 rows meaning at the back. So row 11 would be in front of the top 10.

Sorry cap but theres 19 rows in the North Stand, so row 11 would be in the back 10. However if we were able to make one whole section a standing one it would be less confusing ;)

What's so confusing? Regardless of number of rows in North stand the back (or top) ten rows are at the rearmost part of the stand. Besides there isn't a row 11. All rows are lettered.

Well known that I could start an argument in an empty room, but this is really stretching it...!!!

It would be alot easier for everyone involved (club, fans, stewards, police) if one selected section was given 'all standing' status than everyone get muddled up about where and what rows can you stand and sit in!

That can't happen so long as the current SPL rule is in place.
