Many congratulations to Andrew Shinnie, who is the thirteenth winner of the website's annual award.  I'm sure CaleyD will find an excuse to take a trip to Birmingham and present him with the trophy!

 

Thanks for all your votes - we had 25% more than we did last year.

Well done offside, bit of a task to sort it all out, but a deserved winner at the end.

It hadnt registered with me that we have had enough players in different positions who have won it to make a full team without any of them really looking out of place positionally .... these awards (in general) tend to go to 'glory' players like attacking mids or strikers so happy to see the CTO membership over the years is discerning enough to recognise great talent in whatever position it plays   

That team could win the SPL 

We didnt start this award until 2000/01 season ..... wonder who we would have added if we had done this from the very first season ....

The Players' Player of the Year last season was Graeme Shinnie.

Looking at the table Scotty posted of all the award winners over the years got me thinking - who is the best player never to have won one of those awards?

For me the first name that springs to mind is David Bingham, who was a class act in 03/04.

I'm surprised that Richard Hastings didn't get any of the awards, considering how many seasons he was with us. Another player I was a big fan of, missing from the list is John Rankin.

There's no Paul Ritchie either.

No Juanjo either - Bingham to me was a bit of a luxury but the best playmaker and match winner ever. No Russell Duncan either

Roy McBain deserved some recognition too.
