Now you're all probably thinking, 'why on earth are we talking about this just now?'...However next season will be our 20th year and I believe the fans should have a say in what the new strip should be like.

The current away shirt was designed after consultation with CJT and from what I've heard the final design was submitted as early as December 2012. This could mean that the club and CJT are already or are about to talk about our new home shirt for next year. So its paramount we get our views in as early as possible!

I created this topic so fans will be able to express what they would like the new shirt to be and so CJT and the club could see the fans views.

Also FC United of Manchester present their members with 4 different shirt designs every couple of seasons. The fans then get to vote for their favourite with the winning shirt being the new home/away shirt. Would the club and CJT be prepared to do this for our special 20th year?

Now, I would normally ask for simple blue and red even and vertical stripes like the 95/96 shirt. NO fancy swooshes or diagonal stripes. NO more blue than red or vice versa, 50% blue and 50% red. However with the current red and black striped away I would be open to an all blue shirt with red/black trim like our 94/95 first strip. Also I would like to see a return to white shorts like we had between 94-97.

Who makes the decision as to what the new strips look like? Is it the Chairman, manager, committee, fans, groundsman.........

Head steward.

Committee: David Blunkett; Ray Charles; Stevie Wonder

Good question givemeacccc

At FC United the clubs co owners vote for what the new shirt should be. There are usually 4 shirts to choose from. But even clubs like Darlington and Oldham get their season ticket holders to vote for the new shirt. I wish our club could do this. Another insentive to buy a season ticket.

I don't know why but when I see that strip I just think Rangers

Yup, me too.

I could be off base here but I believe the board make a final decision based on a few options Errea give them after the club give them a rough outline of what they are thinking. (eg. we want stripes, or we want a solid colour etc).

We are not and never have been a big player who can dictate terms to Errea because of level of sales, so we will normally get a customised version of a stock design from their current catalogue ... The current home shirt for example is model "TorBay" (although having said that I cant find our current away shirt in any of the Errea catalogues).

Hello new shirt?

99-2000 away was the orange kit. We had the orange kit from 99-2002.

I'm sure I was at a Highland Derby in Dingwall just after 9/11 where we wore orange and got beat 2-1.  Bobby Mann was sent off IIRC.

I hope it is back to stripes for next season. A black V neck with basic blue and red stripes (Similar to the current Barca kit)

No. 2 of above looks nice. Does ICT suffer from a bit of an identity crisis? What is ICTs colour? Blue and Red 50/50 or 40/40 and 10 black? this season it was 90 blue... Still better that than being black and white like St.Mirren...hard to get excited over new strips for them I imagine.

I'm sure fans of all clubs worry what's coming for their next strip! Using St Mirren as an example, even though they're black and white stripes with black shorts, they've not been immune to the tweaking of tradition! Even the number of stripes gets altered on a regular basis and the colour of shorts seems to alternate from black to white.

They even had a half-and-half shirt as recently as 1995 - I'm sure that would've split the fans' opinions!

I was originally not keen for hoops but after seeing this one my mind has changed. That one looks really good!

Vertical stripes all the way, every time.

I wouldn't be adverse to switching between hoops and stripes as a bit of variety.  I'm sure St Mirren used to do this and Partick have jazzed up their's as well over the years.

Here's another striped design -

the Errea strip designer is quite good - shame about the limited options though !! Try the rugby shirts Rene, or the casual gear... you'll get some weird and eclectic designs there !!!

What about some of these crackers?!

The middle one's pretty snazzy IMO!
