Hearts V ICT - matchday thread

Featured Replies

Just back from Embra after an excellent drinking/eating/sporting/socialising weekend! as Mantis said avoiding all the Welsh almost impossible but we managed to aquire plenty drink and a very nice dram glass to boot.... well one person did.

The footie... well its mostly been said before but we looked ordinary yesterday, very ordinary, not much to shout about, maybe Baynes shot, Barrys shot and Rorys single contribution gave us some excitement.

Why CC continues to play Mcallister is totally beyond me, the guy is either not fit at all or he cant be bothered, or both, against Hearts he really looked like a schoolboy out of his depth.

CC in my mind has gambled in that Rory and Bayne he would see if given the opportunity, they would show what they can do together, and in two games we have seen feck all.

On the other hand maybe he tried to get a striker as cover but failed, and had to hope these two would come good, whatever side is accurate matters not a joss because the rest of the season is going to get tough and not pretty.

Oh, CH2-- I know that we need characters onnhere but "Oh My!"

I shudder to think what the situationn will be at Tulloch C Stadium if you are ever right about things. Thinks ...does he have a point(s) ? :018: :024:

not as interesting as our strip, what the feck was going on there?

With regard to drinking before the match, did anyone else get to The Diggers around 11.30 am to discover it was not open?  This "forced" us to accept second best, The Caley Sample Room, at the west end of Angle Park Terrace, just along from The Diggers.  We managed to get a seat, have some great food and sample many of the Caledonian Brewery's finest ales.  It is also child friendly with a section designated as a family area. Unfortunately we were the only ICT fans in there.  There were plenty of Welsh rugby fans to get the crack with as well as Scots and Jambos without being crushed.  So for next season we shall definitely go to back to the CSR and forget being uncontrollably jostled in The Diggers.

You said:

CH2 show me the bit where I said we should have won ?

And this was returned:

HTH  :003:

What does HTH mean RiG ?

I don't want to bore the other members with this, but the reason for my confusion was that CH2 remarked to me that there was no way we deserved to win.

I never said we deserved a victory, I merely said we were robbed. I asked CH2 to show me where I'd said we should've  won, the quote about being robbed obviously refers to Hearts late goal to deny us a point.

Surely this is obvious.

depends how exicted you get about being robbed of a 0-0 draw

Well let's just say I'd rather Inverness Caledonian Thistle got a 0-0 than a 0-1, particulary when I felt that the away team were every bit as good as the home team.

youre on your own saying we played well, make of that what you will

No. It was very ambiguous.

I stand by my original post. I thought we fought really well and were extremely unlucky to lose a late goal to poor Hearts side, in effect robbed.

Quite honestly I get the idea from this thread that the majority of the fans felt a draw would have been a truer reflection of this match.

For me, Saturday was a real driech mid winter 0-0 draw if ever I saw one, the experience suitably enhanced by the cutting East Coast wind, but if either team deserved 3 points it was probably ICT, but there wasn't much in it.

For my Edinburgh trip entertainment value it ranked well below Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and for excitement it was on about a par with the fossils department of the National Museum but not as good as the witch-hunt and guillotine display in the Scottish section.
