What realistically do we want tonight?

I guess we want a queens win over Raith to keep us within one win of them but that then draws queens level with us.

As for the other game i guess a draw works as we can move to within 1 point of Scumdee at home and stay ahead of Dunfermline.

There are pros and cons to all results tonight being such a tight league.

When it comes to Scottish football, quite. Unless you are part of the Glasgow bigot-fest, their reporting is marginally better than fiction.

I’d be happy if Dunfermline and Queen of the South both lose tonight. Our target has to be the play offs so not having those chasing us making up any ground will be good.

Not watching it but currently 0-0 between Dunfermline and Dundee.

Simply need to win 2 out of the last 3 and hope Dunfermline and QOS draw on Saturday

The Pars have an easier finish on paper but I’ve hardly ever seen us bottle it at season’s end. We’re slow starters but we’ve had some historic finishes.

Absolutely agree. All tems have now played the same number of games and we have retained our play off position.

Not a bad return for an evening when our players were sitting at home.

Disagree we need to win 3 of 3. Dunfermline have the easier run in and it needs to be considered that they could pick up all 9 points - cant have the mentality that others will do us favours. I think its unlikely we will catch Dundee (even if we beat them as I would expect Raith to rest some players) now so its a straight shoot out for 4th IMO

Yes ok will do the Maths again on Saturday. Certainly the business end now!

Its a very tricky one to predict as I would say Ayr is the easiest game for us but then they will be fighting to avoid the play off. Similar, yes Dunfermline do have on paper an easier run in, but They have Queens who will still see a P/O spot achievable even though long shot. And then Arbroath are in the same category as Ayr in terms of avoiding the P/O at the bottom and did come from 2-0 down to get a point against Raith so these are harder matches for a team that are so out of form. I think if we can get to the final game with 3pts gap then the GD should be enough to keep us in. Yes 3 out of 3 and its done and dusted but i think we can afford to drop in one match as we will play after Dunfermline this weekend so we will be able to react to whatever they do. We should have beaten Dundee at home earlier in the season so I am not daunted by them but i think Hearts wont be a walk over. They may have won the league and nothing left but the pressure Neilson is under there will be a demand to finish the season strongly or he may even be a goner. I think if we need a result v Ayr on the last day we will get it but i still think these are going to be a couple of long weeks.
