KDM @ the Rock Live

KDM @ THE ROCK

We face Dumbarton at the Rock on Tuesday night in our re-arranged game in the KDM Trophy last 32 fixtures. There are seven fixtures re-scheduled for the same night after the recent heavy rain and wind postponed these games and we were held up by our Scottish Cup tie against Tranent taking precedence over the KDM fixtures. The draw has already taken place and should we progress, then we will be be away to the winner of the Cove v Partick tie also to be played on Tuesday night.

Inverness had topped the group stages of the competition and our reward for that was avoiding the Championship Clubs who entered the Trophy for the knock-out stages from 32 teams down to a final. Thus we drew Dumbarton away. Here's all the fixtures in the last 16 with the seven games also showing that will be going ahead on Tuesday night...

  2. ICTFC 4-1 Dons B

  3. ICTFC 2-1 Binos

  4. ICTFC 6-0 Dee B

  5. Forfar 1-4 ICTFC

  6. ICTFC 6-0 Arabs B

The Caley Jags are now unbeaten in ten games since we lost 3-1 at Hamilton back on the 4th October and top League1 by 5 points.

Chanka Zimba scored his 13th goal in all competitions at the weekend but took a knock and was replaced by Alfie Bavidge at half time as a precaution. At the extreme end, Billy Mckay notched his 125th goal for the Caley Jags. What a servant he has been!

News from within the Caley Jags camp is that crowd pleasing winger Liam Sole will be with us until the end of the season after Livingston agreed to extend his stay in the Highlands. He said “I’m really happy, I really like it here and I’m in a good place.” He added “I’m really happy to get it all sorted and over the line and I can continue to focus now.”

The Sons sit 8th in League2 but come into this game off the back of an excellent 2-0 win over League leaders East Kilbride at the weekend having lost three on the trot. Frank McKeown replaced Steve Farrell on the 5th of December after relegation and a run of poor results and they immediately picked up three points in his first home game following a tough 4-3 defeat at fellow strugglers Edinburgh City.

Nobody can complain tonight that we do not take our chances. However, Stenny will be very tough.

Anyhow, 9-0 is a record win, so mustn't grumble!

We did beat Fort William 16-0 in the NoS Cup in 2018 but that doesn’t count 😂😂

Anyone know how Alfie Stewart isn’t cup tied?…I’m thinking either it resets after the group stage or (surely not) there’s been an “admin error” and a potentially record result will get chalked off as we get booted out

Those are the Scottish Cup rules, not those for this competition.

I searched for this competition but the page on the SPFL website only gives the heading, at least on my device:

You are correct. I have added the correct competition rules now. See rule 7.5 which confirms he was eligible to play.

Don’t know whether we’ll get highlights, there were some nice goals in there. I thought no 9 from our no 9 was the pick of the bunch.

Never easy being a CaleyJags fan - now they make it more difficult to choose the best goal of the game! Whatever next…😁

Now there’s no Fife derby, we must be in with a shout of being the TV game in the last 16 unless they pick St Johnstone v County.

Confirmed our game will be on BBC Alba on 6 January.

Oscar did brilliantly to win the spot kick.

Well…20 attempts and only 9 goals, so as usual we missed most of our chances!

The Dumbarton goalie (boy) Ecrepont is 18 and not their main keeper. Don’t know the age or match experience of the defence (or rest of the DTM team), but I feel it’s worth taking this into consideration whilst we look up the record books to celebrate our highest ICT score.
