we are running out of time and we really need a defender there's no hiding the fact.we better get 1 soon so he can get to know the squad before the season starts and not have to panic buy which i think will happen.

Were we not told that the two Austrians ( one of which is a defender) were to join up pre-season training today?

Plus a French centre half

In both the matches in Italy ICT went to 3 at the back in the second half - Either an indication of lack of players there or it's going to feature in our plans for the new season.

Maybe a bit of both and either way we could do with more competition for positions on the back line.

Does anyone know when the transfer deadline is.

And did Kerr not greatly impress over the tour.

The start of the season (Aug 4) is a far tighter deadline than the transfer window (Aug 31 midnight).

We do need one if not two central defenders as cover/competition but I guess it depends on how good Charlie thinks the youngsters look and what the trialists are like. No point signing someone 'just because'. Confident he will get one or two in before the season but even if he doesnt then Hastings - Caff - Munro - Tokely are already there and likely to be the opening day lineup and we have time to get the right players in if they are available.

According to the Inverness Courier website there may be as many as 4 players on trial this week...

CHARLIE Christie has given four trialists just over a week to impress him as he begins to focus on Caley Thistle’s opening game of the new SPL season against Rangers.

Austrians Dominique Taboga, a central defender, and striker Benedict Bauer are due to link up with the rest of Christie’s squad for pre-season training today, and they could be joined by a Scottish player.

A mystery French defender is also set to arrive later in the week, although Christie and director of football Graeme Bennett will hold discussions before confirming if they want the player to come over on trial.

4 are named on official site

3 strikers (including Niculae & 1 ex Man U reserve who can also play at right back) + a youth keeper.

None of which are the famous Austrian duo  :017: - how weird  :024:

Is it just me or are ICT soon going to have too many strikers.

Did you say defender...Or attacker

martin pusic 19 yo from austria vienna ,  marius nicaleu is back for more talks , 17 yo andrew mcnulty from ireland (gk) , phil marsh - man utd striker who was released this summer

Based on the courier that makes 8 potential trialists... 4 of which are strikers. I'm guessing we are looking for 1 or 2 strikers + 1 or 2 defenders.

Interesting little profile of the Man U youngster here.

Any other striker/right-backs you've heard of?! Nice photo too...

Bloody **** CC likes his strikers eh!!

Bloody **** CC likes his strikers eh!!

Maybe ICT should put someone like McAllister or Garry Wood out on loan. :024:

I would guess that there is only 1 strikers place up for grabs
