  1. Unfortunately, I think that's a bit more accurate.

  2. An absolute disgrace getting beat at this level by a SHFL youth side some of whom also played the day before. Was this an attitude problem? Was it a quality problem? If it was attitude the coach needs replacing! If it was a quality problem the whole structure needs an overhaul! Now I know why we don't hear very much about this squad. Sorry to be negative but this is the reward for doing everything on the cheap and the Club investing absolutely NOTHING in our youth programme! This is NOT the players fault - they are still learning - it is down to coaching, discipline and the teaching of good habits!

  3. Still not over the sheer humiliation of this "performance". The blame and full responsibility lies solely at Levein's door. First of all this is a very poor Czech team. A group of average players plus Tomas Rosicky. Not for a second were we facing the likes of Koller, Smicer, Berger, Poborsky or Nedved but our manager, in his wisdom and only his, set us up in a formation doomed to fail from the start. Sitting in is one thing but to show abject negativity against a side of this stature is worthy of a P45. Levein's supporters (and I'm sure there has to be some?) will blame our lack of quality players for his selection. Granted this may well be the case when facing Argentina in Beunos Aires or Brazil in the Maracana Stadium but not against the poorest Czech side in decades. For me, we have players more than capable of having a go at a side of this stature and it was our manager's tactics that cost us. His decision to omit Miller for Mackie is baffling. Miller, like him or not, has proven his work rate and goal scoring record at most levels he has played throughout his career. Levein picked debutant Mackie and didn't even play him in his position! Don't get me started on the begging to Phil Bardsley! I know full well what we are as a football nation these days but all I ask is to have a go when it's merited, play with a little passion and at least give the poor sods who spend a fortune following their country a wee bit of value. That, and pick Scots!

  4. Tokely should have been sent off for that, The Aberdeen player touches the ball away and Tokely comes in with a dangerous tackle and takes the guy out, simple. I also don't think the Aberdeen guy should have been sent off for the alledged stamping on Hayes. Even on the slow mo i still can't really make that out. Even though it can still be hard to make a decision watching a replay it would still help cut out all those mistakes refs actually do make during the game. Its just old fashioned to think we shouldn't have new technologies coming into the game that willl benefit us all. The sooner we stop getting offside goals, balls that cross the line that aren't given and wrong penalty decisions the better.

  5. That is a p1sh decision. There was totally a stamp on Hayes, as anyone watching from the main stand will be able to confirm (although, perhaps unsurprisingly, the sightlines from the Aberdeen dug-out didn't give so clear a view!). The TV replays weren't clear enough to confirm it because there wasn't a camera with a good angle - in each case Hayes' body masked the view of the stamping boot which was clearly more than just an attempt to disentagle himself.

  8. I didn't know Foran was banned for life. Seems a bit draconian considering the MacGregor / Ferguson incidents.

  10. We would not have won this game if we had eleven strikers the only option was to defend and it nearly worked. If he had played miller or a normal formation we would be looking at 4-1 or worse. Really impressed with the team keeping their formation like that oh and not one of those picked has complained about the tactics. Its gonna be a long time before hartley gets another game, I reckon. The same tactic will not work with spain as they are just too good therefore hopefully we will get a good showing then, but Levein has scotland playing as a team if he can get them all running in the other direction imagine what we could acheive. Oh and they should all be born on a croft, eat nothing but shortbread and drink Irn-bru.
