  1. IHE--what if Dougall believes what he wrote and that is actually his opinion? Surely he has the right to speak it bravely on here in public without us all tearing this young man to pieces every time he appears on here to express his viewpoint? ...give him a break, for goodness sake. Sometimes I wonder if I am listening to a pack of wolves surrounding a vulnerable victim, not fans of ICT willing to listen and understand that you and I, just like him, have to learn whats what over time. If you disagree with him, or me,then speak your piece so we can listen and learn from your views but please do it civilly and respect his right and my right to express what we think without vicious rancour erupting at the drop of a flipping hat. He's a human being and a fan so ease up on him and send him a PM if you are so upset by what he writes and have a personal exchange in private. In this instance there may even be a grain of truth in what Dougall says about Terry because , frankly, old habits die hard and Terry is indeed from the old school. Who are we to claim Dougall is stupid or wrong and none of us know Terry B so well that we can claim anything about whathe thinks is best for this team. Not me, for sure--- and I am 73 ---- Remember..."Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings comes forth words of wisdom."

  2. A team should play to it's strengths. It makes sense to play the long if you have players up front who can capitalise on that. Rooney often did and when he scored in those situations I don't think there were too many complaints on this forum. But with the team we have now, the long ball should be the option only when trying to keep posession is too risky. We have players capable of keeping the ball and playing a good passing game which should be attractive to watch. Also, keeping posession of the ball puts more pressure on the opposition to do something with it when they get it. Wouldn't mind a long throw in now and again though - or, for that matter, any throw in that actually goes to one of our own players.

  3. Has this not always been the case throughout the years. At the end of the day it is an apprenticeship and a valuable experience irrespective of the outcome. It is also big business with money at stake and always another potential player of the future waiting to take the place. Such rejection can be the downfall of many but it can also be the making of others - in respect that they may look at a career option and playing football at a lower level - or it can be a turning point football wise as it could make some more determined than others to prove the rejecting coaches wrong - and that is often done through reflection on why they did not make the grade - which could be many things - over confidence, not fit enough, arrogance, social behaviours etc., etc. Many have corrected their faults and failings and came up trumps elsewhere.

  4. I presume he is desperate to score his first goal for the club so was too eager. The guy is a worker and is new to the Spl - he needs support like anyone else.

  5. If I was Terry i'd fine him a weeks wages for his part in the disallowed goal debcale, he single handedly lost the club two points yesterday :irritated: I thought the club had learnt their lesson by signing lower league strikers(Barrowman) but it appears sadly not dougal What absolute nonsense to say he single handedly cost us 2 points yesterday. The score was 2-1 remenber when this happened and it was 3-2 to us when the free kick conceded for the equaliser. I really despair at some of the comments here. Looks like Tade is going to be the new whipping boy for many. Give the guy a chance, not just 3 games eh.

  6. Thought not. I rated him last week yes, but if you'll read my other posts you'll see I described his performance yesterday as a donkey. Make of that what you will.

  7. Dont usually have a chance to watch the game twice - sober (ish) - and I still feel that we will come good but I feel that some of the decision making of Terry and Mo were as much our downfall as the players were today. 1. Cant believe the decision to play Hogg but then even more baffled that he played Hogg and Tokely and even more baffled that he played Hogg on the rite and Tokely on the left. Hogg to me clearly wasnt match fit but I would have played Aldred from the start irrespective. At least he looks to play the ball out of defence and is more commanding in the air. 2. The "treatment" of Proctor was tantamount to being disgraceful. If his confidence wasnt shot before then it will definitely be now. He should have been rested from the off and Shinnie on the bench. 3. Why in the name of God would you give Tade a roving role in the second half. A headless chicken needs to be caged fer fecks sake. It was tantamount to playing with ten men. 4. Foran played deep in the first half with Tade up front which evidently didnt work. Foran looked more effective in the second half but had no support. Is it really not time - or past it - to give Shane Sutherland a run up front - at least until we see what a fit McKay looks like. But there were positives - mainly the performance of Tansey and the evident togetherness on the pitch. Loved Tansey's MOM speech on Alba where he unthinkingly blamed the central defence and then did a terrible attempt at putting it rite.

  8. Was recently talking to a relative of a youngster who had trained with the club youth scheme for approx 6 years and unfortunately was not kept on as he was apparently not likely to make the grade. Whilst I appreciate that the boy will have had expert coaching & invaluable experience when training with the team, my understanding of the club's ethos regarding it being a "family" club has been somewhat shattered. He had a short meeting with the club's trainers at the end of the training season to be given the news that he would not be kept on, but what I find really pretty shameful is that there was no follow-up letter from the club, ie. thanking him for his dedication in respect of attending training regularly every week, wishing him luck in the future etc. It's very easy to see why young boys give up football if they're not more actively encouraged, even though they don't manage to progress further through the youth ranks. No doubt I'll get pelters for posting this, but I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one to have this view?

  10. Dougal He's had one good game and one not so good. He didn't lose the game "single handedly" as you put it. This was a much better site without you, please go troll somewhere else.

  12. I wasn't at the game yesterday but saw the game on the garlic channel From what I saw I now have real concerns about this signing Is this guy a striker? It's not clear by yesterdays performance where or what position he was supposed to be deployed as!! You only have to read the views on pie and bovril from other clubs supporters to suss out that this guy isn't an Spl standard player Discuss dougal
