  1. This has to top the list ofall time top cringe.
  2. I was grossly offended by a flag. The one held up by the linesman just before half time..
  3. 1 point
Devine is a good centre-half and is great to have as cover. He's been dealt a ****** hand having to cover in midfield in the last derby and at right backj against St Johnstone.
  4. Who wrote the script........ Barry Venison?
  5. Eagle4Caley. I agree pretty much with your assessment. That's how it looked to me too, watching on TV. Sometimes watching on TV does not give a completely accurate view of a player's performance as the camera only tends to follow the ball, so I can understand people who actually were at the game sometimes having a different opinion. I'll be watching the County game on TV too, with a few pals at my golf club. One of them is a keen Palace supporter! I promise not to rib him too much about last night's result.
  6. Firstly that whole 'outside the spirit of law' argument from that Sky Sports piece is a joke. Its a competitive game and the whole point of a competitive game is to try and do things to get an advantage over the opposition. It was a very, very clever move and if we hadn't of scored off it, I think its safe to say play would have just been allowed to continue. If the linesman/referee wasn't happy they should have stopped play immediately. They didn't, thus, they both clearly thought it was alright. We score, linesman then changes his mind thinking its unfair/or something which we will never find out because our officials never have to explain themselves. The other thing is we didn't even gain that much from it, the ball was still crossed into the box as would be expected from a corner and we scored off the second phase. Partick had two chances to clear the ball and not one player on the pitch stopped playing. Looking closely at the rules, the goal must have been chopped off because the linesman said Draper touched the ball twice (He clearly doesn't) before another player as that is the only infringement (other than handball) which results in an indirect free kick to the opposition. Any other infringement results in a retaken corner. Oh and Scott Fox should be ashamed of himself, continually just parking himself on the deck and in the process hauling other players down at corners. We were clearly targeting the fact he is a bit flappy when it comes to crosses as the majority of our corners were pinged in right above him.
  7. Why do we persist in using the term "professional" foul. These fouls are unprofessional fouls. Many of us who work in the health service, teaching, police etc know what being professional is. Part of being professional is behaving with integrity and not circumventing rules or laws for your own self interest. Having cheating behaviour branded as "professional" is really quite offensive. But aside from that, I fail to understand why football's ruling bodies tolerate this. It seems that any remotely 50:50 incident is always given in favour of the defender. Week in week out we see defenders with their arms round forwards, blatant pushes in the back and pulling shirts and the referees simply ignore it. When the forwards do this or it is a bit of a 50:50 incident the foul is always given to the benefit of the defending side. People come to football to see goals. If the officials only applied the laws of the game there would be less cheating, more goals and more people would watch.
