  1. Now have 7 coaches booked for Bucharest - Giurgiu transfer!
  2. Unfortunately not. Raven played left bank in the first half and youngster Stephen Rennie in the second. Dani Lopez, JJ Hooper and Number 20 (who wasn't Marc Lamont who was mentioned earlier) all played upfront, Oli Norburn played as a sitting midfielder. Based on what I saw Dani Lopez might be worth another look - he didn't really touch the ball but did set up a couple of the goals. The rest didn't really do anything of any note. Hooper scored a mishit and that was it, Number 20 passed to Hooper to score his mishit and other than that miss controlled the ball quite a bit. Norburn is the sort of holding midfield player which is ten a penny and not the type of player we need.. we need quality attacking players not another holding midfielder. We had two of them in Polworth and Horner playing a half each at right back today. I thought Jason Brown looked quite a decent back up centre half for the little that he had to do.

Let's put the pieces together here. It's no secret he'd like to be a manager in his own right again and Russell Latapy is linked with a move away from ICT, yet the club(s) he's applied for is not revealed. As soon as Latapy disappears, Brian Rice turns up out of nowhere on 'holiday'. Despite Rice being on 'holiday' he's in the dugout for two matches in full ICT gear, shouting instructions to the players and taking the training. Hughes seemingly now wants Latapy's deal paid out in full, despite him, as far as we know not being sacked. This presumably means that there's some issue behind the scenes between the board and Latapy. Should Latapy go, you'd put your house on Rice being the replacement. There is something not right about this whole saga. The silence from the club is becoming deafening IMO as well. Hughes seemed to suggest in the press that Latapy's absence is to speak to another club, but no-one seems to know what club or even what country they're in. There's not even been any mention of the club granting permission to speak to another club. I was told last season that Latapy 'hadn't been pulling his weight' at the club and I wonder if there's been some sort of fall-out behind closed doors.

  5. But what did it look like when you joined them all up with your pencil ?
  6. Well, the Women's World Cup is over and we haven't had a thread for it on our football forum. That's a shame, so let me belatedly put it to rights. It is a shame that there is not a higher profile for the women's game because it can be pretty entertaining. There seems to me no reason why women should not be equally able to develop good ball skills or be able to spot a good ball and I am sure as the profile of the game increases and more young girls are inspired to take up the game, even more players with even better skills will emerge. The world cup has produced some really good moments and good goals as illustrated in the link below. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33398720 Where the game does have a significant difference to the men's game is the relative size of the keepers to the goals. A theme that comes through in the compilation is that when a shot is well placed, the keepers lack both the height and the leaping power to reach the ball. This should, in theory, increase the chances of a shot at goal being successful and therefore should encourage attempts at goal. The smaller stature of the women keepers must be equivalent to increasing the size of the goal in the men's game by about 15cm all round. Another difference has been significantly less foul play and gamesmanship (cheating) than we see in the men's game. And without getting into the England v Scotland thing, England's success in coming 3rd must be good for raising the profile of the women's game throughout the UK. The Women's World Cup has been a breath of fresh air and I look forward to seeing the game continuing to develop.
  7. Some harsh criticisms of Hooper IMO. You've got to be a decent player to have a moniker. I'm guessing he used to be a Jay Jay Okocha fanboy. Imagine the disdain in Willie Miller's voice when he has to announce that 'JJ Hooper' has scored against Aberdeen. And the 'Hooper sinks Hoops' headline writes itself.

    Get's my vote.
  9. That'll be JJ Hooper I'd have thought. He was there at one time.

Having had a look at the ticket sales online - looks like its edging towards a sellout in my eyes. Apart from Lower G there is only about 20 seats to be had in the main stand, Id say about 250 in the north stand. So unless there has been a huge expansion in the away capacity since I was at the stadium last week then we are looking good.
  11. I'm sure someone will moan if it takes them more than 30 seconds to get out of the car park.....so no different than normal
  12. Was at the game tonight to check out some of the trialists. Dani Lopez started up front in the first half and I was reasonably impressed, would definitely take another look at him. His movement was excellent but his touch wasn't that great but I'm sure that will come. jordan Roberts is already signed and I have to say I think we've got a find here. Oliver Norburn came on second half for draper and played alongside Tansey but played in a very deep position between the two centre backs almost just passing it from right to left. Not a bad player, didn't do anything special but steady enough as for the other two JJ Hooper and the number 20 (liam something I think), I am praying we don't sign either of them. Both didn't look interested. No idea if that number 20 just won a competition to play or something but we was just awful, poor touch, didn't close down anyone and I think he gave the ball away every time he got it. But at least he occasionally looked for the ball, I left before hoopers goal but before that he hardly touched the ball.

Agree with you Scotty but even the lower league English clubs inc The Conference have released Errea kits weeks ago! Do Errea make our kits or do we buy a template and then print out own club crest and sponsor? No matter who's to blame I feel like the club has lost a great chance to get extra revenue through kit sales after the cup win and the European tie. This happens every season so why not address it a little bit earlier in year around April so we don't have these issues again?
