  1. wow, a "dislike" for daring to suggest that going down holding the face when it didn't really hurt is poor, irrespective of the colours a guy is wearing?! Completely agree with Sneckboy - this kind if behaviour is ruining the game of football and I can't condone it simply because the guy involved was playing for us at the time.
  2. There's no doubt that the Hearts player deserved to be sent off. It's simply a red card if you aim a punch or even raise your hands aggressively towards another player's face - regardless of how 'successful' said punch was! Even a 'missed punch' is treated the same as a full-blown haymaker, as the intent was there. So, in my mind the ref got it spot on. However, the reaction of Sho-Silva was poor. He exaggerated AND feigned injury. A disgraceful example for kids watching. I'm not going to join the hypocrites who see any opposition players 'going-to-ground' easily to influence the referee as cheats, when ours doing the same are simply being 'streetwise'. In a few months time, there may be an incident in our box, at a corner. where Josh is jostling with a player and for a moment possibly gets hold of his jersey. The striker goes down and gets a penalty, when he clearly could have stayed on his feet, but has dropped as he's aware 'the tug' has gone un-noticed - but needed to get the referee's 'attention'. Cries of 'cheats' on here. There's a bigger picture though than an incident in a bog standard, Friday night Scottish League fixture. The integrity of the game and where it's now going. This 'going down holding the face' culture is ruining football, as is diving - so, instead of condoning him because he happens to temporarily be in an ICT top, grow-a-pair, and criticise this behaviour as unacceptable - it's a cancer on the game. The English FA are trying to clamp down on this crap. Down there, retrospective bans can be now issued to players who've tried to con the ref with simulation or exaggeration. The first 'culprit' is a player from obscure, non-league outfit, Welling United. Ironically, where Sho-Silva's been 'learning' his trade! Don't want to be too harsh on the boy as he's young, but he needs to learn his lesson - I suppose that's part of the reason he's up here - but, Yogi should drop him for the next game, out of principle.

Where does he go now? The manner of the defeat means very few of the bigger promoters will see him as a money drawing opponent. One silver lining though, he barely took any punishment and wasn't seriously hurt. It was a good early stoppage from the ref IMO. Some will be writing him off, but his only defeat has come from a potentially world class opponent (who Wlad Klitschko rates as the best heavyweight prospect for 25 years). The fight clearly came too soon for him. The step up in class between Joshua and his previous opponents was too steep. But it was too good an opportunity to turn down. He's still young and healthy enough to rebuild. Hopefully he keeps grafting and gets some more big money fights down the line.
  4. Hahaha. Great game last night and its resorted to a debate on a player getting punched in the face which was so blatant even Cifti wouldn't have got off with it. I seem to recal Considine pushing over Foran in the box in a League cup final. If Foran was more dramatic at going down and the penalty won the cup, is he a hero or bizzarely enough some kind of vilan in some peoples eyes ( for making the ref more aware of the foul) Barry Wilson was a penalty winning expert with minimal contact but contact all the same. Quite dramatic with arms flailing and an arched back. Dougie Imrie can even trip himself up next to a player. Where were the complaints then. Our new guy seems like a bit of a character and I look forward to seeing him play next (applauding a hearts player for making a boob). It would be funny if he kept collapsing in warm up if a player came near. Give the guy a break and enjoy the win against Hearts.
  5. Fer fecks sake - he was struck - he was innocent in regard to the incident - it was a red card - he did exaggerate the contact. His reaction was not good for the game and should not be defended. He WILL get a behind doors bollicking. Hopefully it is a learning curve and will not be repeated.
  6. Simulation? No. Exaggeration? Yes. And possibly the worst acting seen out with "Take The High Road".
  7. Only folk bothered by this are on here it seems. Didn't even get mentioned by the pundits on sportscene! For goodness sake move on.
  8. I thought by the end of the game everyone on the park justified being there. The defence looked solid, raven was superb, Devine looked more comfortable at RCB, meekings looked shaky to being with but certainly got back into it very quickly and tremarco done what he could to replicate last years left back! Draper was man of the match for me, was calm all game made a couple of defence splitting runs and his only fault was getting excited when he had that great chance! I thought Tansey struggled in the first half but like I've said previously it was due to lack of movement. In the second half he started his long range passing and covered well a few times when tremarco had pushed on. williams was always a threat but bar one great cross, he just couldn't quite far enough forward. Christie was influential in both halfs, dropped to deep in the first half but probably had the most touches and kept the ball moving but his second half performance was different altogether, running at defenders, forward passing and a superb piece of play for his assist. Vincent looks like he needs a game or 2 to get back into his game but in the second half especially he pushed further on and worked well with Raven...plus he got into a great position for his goal! And for the first time in many many years, i got excited watching our debut striker. Previous strikers took long enough to settle, our new guy was a different Storey. He was fast, plenty of energy, made those runs, and stayed central which got him his well taken goal....we finally have a striker (for 3 months at least!). our subs also looked confident, vigurs was his in his normal area, that 10m by 10m patch of grass yet still looked like on of those through balls were gonna open the defence. And Sho-Silva won nearly every Arial challenge, few good runs and held the ball up. Not sure wat the incident with the Hearts boy was about.
  9. I haven't been this excited about a striker since Andrew Barrowman scored on his debut.
  10. Reminds me of the Christmas Carol With The words " And so it continued by day and by night " Its all over forget it
  11. I was very disappointed to see one of our players behaving in such a way , I really hate play acting to get a fellow professional sent off . Hopefully someone at the club will have a word with him and let him know this is not acceptable at ICT , as for posters on here condoning his actions well I'd better not post what I think of them !
  12. Alexander's reaction was interesting and shines a light on the Sho-Silva incident. He clearly saw the incident at very close hand and publicly b@ll@cked his own player, at the same time trying to pick Sho-Silva up. Alexander obviously felt Oshinawa was the villain of the piece. It was a clear red card IMO (but only after seeing the slow-mo) but Sho-Silva should not have gone to ground, irrespective of whether the red card would not have been waved if he had stayed on his feet. It was simply wrong and hopefully that is explained to him by our best professionals and it doesn't happen again - he's a young lad and will be fine with the right guidance.
