  1. The sfa have issued Hughes with an order of complaint over comments he made about the ref Dallas. Why can refs who have a bad game not be criticised for it? So long as it's done in a measured manner. Hughes is one of the most humble managers out there and readily gives credit where it's due, including towards referees, so why can he not make honest critique when it's necessary. Maybe if refs spent more time taking constructive criticism on board and less time telling teacher they'd do a better job. Players get slaughtered for bad games. Managers slaughtered for bad selection. Why are refs immune?
  2. Looking good !. Thank goodness for the ICT videos so that we world wanderers can keep up to date. Such a blessing. Storey can play and he is gritty and spirited and determined to do well.. Once he gets used to the rougher Scottish game he should be just fine.! He could do very well in the team with the right encouragement if he keeps up this enthusiastic attitude--and what a cracker his goal was. His reactions are very fast and the Hearts players had a hard time containing him I think. Their answer was the rough stuff and general tripping. It's no wonder their coach told them off after the game. Apparently he was reminding them that this is the SPL not the Championship and that they will have to work a lot harder and better to stay up. From the video it did seem as if we played at a higher tempo and had their measure for long spells. Encouraging performance.
  3. If someone acted like that in the opposing side then all those defending Silva would be first on here labelling that player a cheat/diver etc. etc. Possibly the most renowned example for play-acting was this - Rivaldo The differences? Silva was punched in the face whilst Rivaldo was hit by the ball in the legs... yes... but the fundamentals are the same. Both aggressors deserved to be sent off and both recipients acted poorly. Do I care? Not a jot... we needed a win at all costs and Silva's reaction might have helped us to get the win. The ref might not have seen it and responded as he did if it wasn't for Silva falling to the ground like a bag of spuds and Hearts could have got an equaliser with 11 men on the park but it was the correct decision in the end. He should be get a good slagging by the senior players in the team for acting like that but the worse crime was the muppet in the Hearts shirt that threw the punch. There's no moral high ground in Silva's actions but I'd take a team of winners over do-gooders any day of the week.
  4. Pretty much the same comments he made after Dallas ruined the St Johnstone game last season, but no action then. What has changed? If it wasn't for who his dad was, there is no way Dallas would be anywhere near the top flight. And why did it take the Compliance Officer more than 2 weeks to decide this needed a notice of complaint?

As I've never been on a Ross County bus, I can't really comment. IF, their fans do turn it into a session on the bus then this is where the problem lies and not an additional 25 min stop on the way down somewhere. Which is also another leg stretch for those needing it. Is this merely an exaggeration regarding County as they are only stopping at a Community pub in Perth on the next bus run. They have even further to travel than us so logistically they can't keep pulling off the main route to find a pub, park up, get every one off into the pub get everyone served and back on a bus numerous times. Drunks want to drink all day and your right the bus would be a long journey sitting next to one but you've taken it from no drink to sitting next to someone with a drink problem. I thought this topic was about finding ways to increase the numbers on the bus as we can't compete with County's £10 a head for members.
  6. wow, a "dislike" for daring to suggest that going down holding the face when it didn't really hurt is poor, irrespective of the colours a guy is wearing?! Completely agree with Sneckboy - this kind if behaviour is ruining the game of football and I can't condone it simply because the guy involved was playing for us at the time.

Do you go to games? Do you? There is a player of the year poll on this site for folk who do go to matches, so let's have a look at what they think. We have had 3 home league games this season and there have been a total of 101 votes for MOTM. Christie has received just 5 votes for MOTM and 9 votes as runner up. This compares with Williams with 39 votes for MOTM and 16 as runner up. Interestingly, one of our much maligned new signings, Mutombo, has12 votes for MOTM and 22 for runner up. I think this evidence supports that Ten4 has it just about spot on. Christie is good, but he has only just "emerged" and has only rarely had a game where he has been very good. Some of the hype about him really is very OTT. As many as I can yes and living in the central belt thats very rarely a home game but I get to a lot of the away games and Ryan is always quite clearly a class above. He didn't win two of nine Young Player of the Months and the Football Writer's Young Player of the Year last season by 'only rarely' putting in a very good performance. I also didn't see Celtic putting in any bids for Danny Williams despite CTO posters voting him MOTM 34 more times in our three home games. Suggesting Ryan wasn't/isn't our most talented player is just absurd.
  8. Good video. A black eye....eh/ Don't worry about young Silva. Our man of the moment, JH., who is indeed rather tall, will take him aside with an arm around his shoulder, tell him that he is his Northern dad and when the young player asks him "yeah right, what's yer name then?" Mr Hughes will reply .."Why , Long John Silva, young 'un. And don't give me sauce, Jim Lad, or I will put salt on yer tail. AAR!
