  1. Overall, it was not the worst night performance wise, typically Rangers looked to have upped their game both Defensively and Attacking which wasn't ideal for us. Watched the highlights back tonight, didn't see at the time just how open Doumbouya was and to be honest that should have been either in the back of the net or at the very worst saved by Foderingham. That could have altered the whole dynamic of the game at that point. This I feel is where once again, we are struggling, a confident clear cut striker. I genuinely don't believe that Doumbouya is what we have to rely on, he's not quick or nimble enough and although good at winning the ball in the air he's clearly not yet up to speed confidence wise. Fisher would appear to be the better of the 2, but frustratingly it was always Boden that "looked" the part of the goalscorer, smaller, quicker and potentially direct. In reality he's been none of these, and even watching him in warm up before the game, he's got the look of a player on his way out the door. I cant see him ever being the player I hoped he would be. As others have said, Doran and Mulraney changed the pace of the game and I really hope both get a start against Kilmarnock. Vigurs seems to pick and choose when to perform and frankly is really starting to annoy me. Rangers looked a decent side on Friday, but I really feel we made them look a lot better than they actually were and could and should have hurt them more than we did. Once again it was left far too late to mount a credible attack, and if only we'd stamped our authority on them earlier in the first half, we could have given ourselves a real fighting chance at taking the lead
  2. That pretty much sums up how I felt too. It would have been more insulting to the Brit loving hoards of Rancid fans if a Scottish Saltire had been displayed instead of an Irish Triclour. As well as the sectarian bile they were singing there was a fair amount of anti Scottish stuff in there too. I wasn't pleased there were so many of them in amongst the home crowd either but I suppose taking money off them is payback to our club's coffers.
  3. What a pleasant Friday evening enjoying the presence of the visiting rangers fans. How I've missed their unique brand of religious bigotry and hatred! Though quite how they managed to fit through the turnstiles with the massive chips on their shoulders is anybody's guess? Special mention also to the authorities who continue to turn a deaf ear to the spouted bile. Anyway, to the match itself, commenced after a minute silence impeccably and respectfully observed by every Inverness fan for the passing of rangers fan ryan baird, and after a good first 10-15 minutes when we should have scored we fell out of the game and rangers bossed us for the remainder of the first half and deservedly went in at HT 1-0 up. Second half saw an improved Inverness performance, especially after our double substitution, and we were unfortunate not to level the match. We had just one corner in the whole game but had we had more I'm sure we'd have scored one goal at least against a fairly average rangers defence. Ultimately a disappointing night but not disastrous, and results today went in our favour too ;-)
  4. Was initially disappointed last night, and thought we'd been hopeless and were lucky to just come out at 1-0 down. But I've just watched the hour-long highlights on by sport, and actually a draw would've been fair. We finished much stronger as Richie said, but why do we have to go a goal down to get started? And too much negative backwards passing again, why is .that rearing its ugly head again? If we had taken our chances we could've come out winners! And losing to a goal like that isn't as painful as it would be if it was a soft goal. Just a shame we're going to see so much of it in the goal of the month polls!! And don't even get me started with the scum fans in the home end!! I don't know what the club/stewards can do to avoid this, especially when they aren't wearing colours, but these jokers need outed at every opportunity! #fanpower hearing rumours of damage to the south stand....any 'leaked' pictures of this? Or at least confirmation it happened.

  6. Massively disappointed with ICT last night. Didn't think much of Rangers who, whilst dominating most of the first half, didn't look overly threatening for much of the game. That said, we offered so little in the final third that it's hard to say we really deserved more than what we got. Doumbouya, Fisher and Boden are all much of a muchness. I'd trade all three for one month of having Billy Mckay back at the club. The misses from Doumbouya and Fisher were awful and I thought the former had a poor game overall seldom winning the ball in the air and struggling to hold the ball up when it was played to him. Given the weakness in the centre of the Rangers defence I was disappointed we never tried to test that more. We seemed to have more success stretching the Rangers defence when Doran and Mulraney came on and we played with proper wide players. As discussed above and at length in the previous ICT match threads I really don/t understand why Foran plays Polworth out on the flanks given his propensity to come infield and leave his defender exposed. We saw this last season when Horner got roasted against Dundee United and it still seems to happen now. He looked much more assured in the middle against Dundee when Mulraney started on the flank but then against Hamilton his influence on the game was significantly curtailed to accommodate the returning Vigurs who hasn't had a good game since the hat trick against the Pars in the League Cup. Hopefully next week we'll see Mulraney and Doran in the side as King was again poor despite a decent start. Rangers looked decent in the first half, very slick passing and really quick when attacking. They seemed to have a lot of space to go at us especially in the middle of the pitch where Vigurs and Tansey were often absent. Cracking strike by Miller. missed it at the time due to some fat Rangers fans being chucked out of the home end for starting on ICT fans - classic - but having seen the highlights it was a smashing hit. I thought Fon Williams did okay for most of the game. Cracking save to stop Rangers going two up and he didn't seem overly troubled in the second half. Tremarco and mckay had good games I thought and the aforementioned Doran looked lively when he came on and he seemed to kick start a wave of attacks for ICT in the second half. Just a shame his final pass or shot was the wrong decision almost every time! Cringing at the ICT fans who took along an Ireland flag tot he game to wind up the Rangers support. It seemed to work as one of the fans in the West 'Stand' tried to vault over the barriers and fight the fans with the flag. I guess they could say it was for Foran but the "Up the RA" chant was pathetic and quickly shouted down by other fans in the immediate vicinity which was good.
  7. If we are going to press high which we did you cannot allow their midfielder to drop deep, receive the ball from the keeper and turn, which is what they did all night. Our midfielder has to go with his man. The result was we were caught short up the park with Raven having an extra man to mark on numerous occasions. Either commit to the press or sit in. To be fair we were much better second half. That said we had the two best chances on the night and should have at the very least hit the target with both. Doumbouya is not up to it at this level and useless in the air for such a tall man, Vigurs whom I am a fan of needs to work much harder defensively. Both subs had an impact, Draper did the work of two men and Tremarco had an excellent match. If we could only find a quality striker we would have a very decent side. With our budget this has always been the problem as we can't retain our strikers when they succeed ie Wyness, Dargo, Rooney, Mackay, Watkins etc I think we will be better next time the teams meet for having played against the Rangers system which they don't change.
  8. Inverness is turning into the Livingston of the north. What the coucil have allowed to be done to the town is awful.
