  1. Why would we sign players right now when we would have to pay them money we don't have to sit at home doing nothing ? There will be an unprecedented number of players out of contract so recruiting will be easier than normal and I am certain that informal approaches and tentative offers will have already been made.
  2. Interesting to hear Hart talk about Brewster having heart rate monitors on the players all the way back in 2008 (or thereabouts) and yet recently Polly had said that he was surprised at the step up in the off the field stuff moving from ICT to Motherwell who had the players all set up with heart monitors and GPS. Whilst sticking this stuff on a player isn't going to make them better and win us the league it seems strange that we have "regressed" in 10 or so years in this area whilst other clubs make strides forward. The bed sheets story was excellent
  3. Yes you are. As all the players are in furlough. Whats the point in paying now? There will be plenty players available
  4. If there is no pathway for development there is no point in investing in youth.
  5. I'd rather the club survived in the league than a youth system which at the moment isn't producing.
  6. I'd also add computer games to that list. There always seems to be money in any household for that brain numbing nonsense. As for raising funds, doesn't the Centenary Club support youth football?
  7. If the kids want to play football why shouldn't the parents pay? If your kid wants to do martial arts you pay, swimming you pay, tennis you pay, learn an instrument you pay. Why should this be any different.
  8. These are unprecedented times which call for unprecedented measures. There will, of course, be parents who simply can't afford to pay but those who can should and those in the fortunate position of being able to pay a little more should consider doing so. Without out Academy the future could be quite bleak. If any fans group wants to coordinate voluntary payments, I will happily chip in a tenner a week and am sure there will be others on here who would be prepared to do likewise.
