  1. A decent match report by Queen of the South: https://www.qosfc.com/match-2380 And a shout out to our fans who travelled and could be heard throughout the game.

  2. You may be right although he is seldom at his best on artificial surfaces. If is career is coming to an end we should not let any deterioration in form and fitness allow us to lose sight of what a wonderful servant and skillful player he has been for the club, including at the the highest level, for over a decade now despite much of that time being blighted by injury.

  3. Effectively two leagues now although still almost as vital for us to pick up as many points against the bottom five as against our promotion rivals.

  4. Results today, especially Arbroath's win at Rugby Park, leaves the top of the table incredibly tight indeed with very little separating the top five. Two distinct leagues now with the top five competing for the title and three play off spots and the bottom five battling relegation. A break for the cup next weekend and then two absolutely huge home games within four days against Raith and Killie respectively. Win both and we will be back on top of the league irrespective of any results elsewhere. What better incentive to the team need and what better incentive for as many home fans as possible, including many who have been slow to return post lockdown, to pack the North and Main Stands and sing themselves hoarse, or at least in the latter case, rustle their sweetie papers more loudly and vigorously than ever before. Perhaps the biggest few days since we were relegated. Get yourself along to the Longman and encourage as many others as possible to do so as well.

  5. Big plaudits to the vocal band of supporters who made the long trek to Dumfries - you guys brought a big smile to my grumpy old face and did as much to brighten up a dull night shift as the lads on the pitch!

  7. Absolutely agree. It should now be blidingly obvious that, when fit, all four players mentioned should be in the starting XI.

  8. Jenny actually has a bigger rattle than me!! So we can be double trouble at times.

  9. But we got a deserved win. We all know Doran is not best suited to plastic pitches so he was only playing due to Gardyne and Walsh being missing. Allardice rightly gets the plaudits for his performance in midfield but McAlear went about his business quietly and the whole team contributed to the win.

  10. Totally agree. Carson can be a match winner with his crosses, Sutherland such a miss in midfield, when he’s not in the team there’s such a difference of loss of good passes. Particularly noticed when he has to go off injured - the team loses shape. Onwards now for ICT with them both in the team plus of course Billy and Roddy.

  11. Well, we made it look hard work in the end, but I thought we played pretty well most of the time. Could easily have been 4-0 up before Queens fight back. But all in all a good night's work. Lets hope for slip ups from Killie and Raith tomorrow.

  12. We made life unnecessarily difficult for ourselves for the last quarter of an hour but, on the whole, that was a heartening and entertaining performance. A vital three points stopping the rot of half a dozen league games without a win and putting a wee bit of pressure on our promotion rivals for tomorrow. Can't decide between Billy, Dave or Roddy for my MOM so will give it to the small but highly vocal band who made the long journey to Dumfries on a dark late November evening and who won't be in their beds until the wee small hours. If we continue to play like this and tighten up at the back we may not be far away come the business end of the season.
