  1. North Kessock Thistle. Sure they've got an initial buzz now off the old Thistle name but it remains to be seen what longevity they will have.
  2. The "Thistle" in Inverness Caledonian Thistle is an integral part of the club name, as obviously is Caledonian. Both come from the heritage of the two clubs that went through the merger process and are equally important in the name. Taking the name of a club that, in its own right, ceased to exist 30+ years ago does not give them any rights to the previous heritage. It's just a publicity stunt and no more valid than asking Partick Thistle to remove "Thistle" from their name.
  3. It's just a near-local non-league team who have picked up a discarded team name. Good luck to them, but to suggest they have any connection to the team who originally held the name is ridiculous.
  4. As you can tell by my name it was fairly obvious where my loyalties lay. I was brought up a few hundred yards from Kingsmills when I was younger and was a regular there in a Saturday and lucky enough to be there with the days of Ian Stephen. Johnny Cowie and all the usual culprits Tichie and Brian Black. Roshie. Davey Milroy etc.was at a few of the bigger games as well. Went down to park head when we got beat by Celtic also at Kilmarnock game and the much postponed Falkirk tie spent far too much money in the thistle club on baron Taylor’s lane. I’ve noticed on their online presence they have the odd pic with one of two of these lads in it. To me personally this is not and will never be the Jags I supported when I was younger. Just by using the name and colours does not make it so. I wish them well in their venture but not my Jags I’m afraid. Also it must really gaul them passing our stadium and going over the bridge to play their home games You could feel the seethe
  5. I was a bit concerned about this fixture because Hamilton seem to be a bit of a bogey team for us [and they relegated us of course], seems my fears were corrected with a strong Caley side deciding to have a bad day at the office. Did Zimba's absence make a difference? I wonder if Hamilton's troubles are having the same galvanising effect on team spirit as ours last year, It seems they may be our main rivals along with Stenhousemuir [perhaps] and Queen of the South [possibly]. Although a little bit deflating, maybe a nudge to remind everyone that promotion isn't going to be a walk in the park, unless we are 'on it' regularly, the league break should help us reset, let's us the Forfar match to clear the minds Anyway...I had a rubbish weekend football wise Palace lost away to Everton, and thus ended a 19match unbeaten run, despite utterly dominating the first 60mins and being 1 Nil up... this is the 3rd or 4th time in recent years Palace have lost away to Everton despite leading, and we never beat them at home...the very definition of a bogey team!
  6. Quite a nice bunch I thought 😂
  7. I do know one local supporter who thinks it's the rebirth of Inverness Thistle and even drags his poor wife along to support them! Good luck to them, although I will not be checking how they are doing. It's bad enough with a few Jaggies behind me in the north stand
  8. Did Hamilton play any registered amateurs? You have to credit Rankin for over coming some serious setbacks so far.
  9. Jeez, The defending for all 3 goals! very very poor!
  10. Last season was a great watch as we were chasing down the 15 point deficit. I wondered at the end of the season if we would still play that way this season. Getting up the park quickly, getting the ball into the box at every opportunity. Said I wasn’t impressed with first half last week, and other games to be honest. Too slow in transition, allowing teams to get 2 banks of 4 behind the ball making it difficult for us to break teams down. Dare I say it, flashes of Dunc ball returning as we play chuckle brothers football across the back four, to you, to me, going not an inch forward. Then a devine launch to the opposition. Have a joke with the grandkids as they know who Liverpool’s VVD is. I say we have one also, Virgil Van Devine. But van Dijk is the best defender in the premiership they say and his long passes are amazing. Too clever kids nowadays. We have had a bit of luck winning some games. The winner at cove, Stewart last week to make it 3-1 to close out the game, “wicked” deflections taking ball past the GK into the net. Charlie gilmour was always available to take the ball around our box. Surely one of the midfield could do the same. Agree with you re sole. He is supposed to be quick. Just knock the ball past the defender and put a cross in. Barry Wilson made a career out of doing that.
  11. There can be room for both, I bought one of their shirts a while back to show support. Shirt quality is pretty poor though to be honest. It’s stupidity if they are wanting our Thistle removed though. They don’t even play in Inverness so I hope they’ll be thinking about removing the Inverness from their name.
  12. We have a winner: well done to Craig MacAuley. Full details here: https://www.ictsupporterstrust.org/post/shirts-prize-draw-winner
  13. A bad day for the women.
