Three cheers for Gringo 20 matches and he finally gets one right. Here comes the big comeback to reclaim his crown.

Think Steve Marsella is the one we need to look after. If he goes then there is a fear that we will quickly become Ross County or worse. I calculate that since he arrived as chief scout and goalkeeping coach he has scouted 10 players out of our recent starting 11's. Only Richie Foran was here when he arrived.

I can't see any sense in Terry wanting to go to pastures new. Sure he might be offered more money at the likes of Barnsley but would he end up with more and is that really what he wants in any case? If he wants to stay, I am pretty sure his future is secure here for some time to come, during which time he will be on a good wage. He may be able to earn more elsewhere but that could be pretty short term and unless he produced positive improvements, he could soon find himself out of a job again and unable to command the same sort of salary in another post. In any case, at his age and with his background and other interests he should be financially very secure by now. My feeling is that the money isn't actually that important to him as long as he has enough to live comfortably (which he has). He likes to be in the limelight and I am sure he would love to win a national trophy and manage a team in Europe. He won't get that at Barnsley, or Wolves or any other Championship side but he may well get that at Inverness. And being associated with a team that is challenging for those honours (albeit in a far less competitive league than in England) he maintains a higher profile for his wider interests. If he achieves success here, then he will be in the shop window for a seriously bigger club and I wouldn't blame him then for moving on and trying his hand at the top level before he retires. But to move to a championship side at his time of life just makes no sense. If he wants to win something then he needs to stay here.

Hopefully the following won't make people's heads explode as they attempt to process my praise of Charles Bannerman, but he wrote a very good piece about this in the Highland News this week highlighting the ridiculousness of the statement that was issued.

he rejected them the first time, and from what i remember he only went because hearts needed the money. in the end he rejected it to keep his international career alive. hes going to china now and hes going to earn a tax free 1.2 million. lucky sh*t. anyway mcgowans a different case because hed be going away to come back and play for rangers. (if this wild speculation is true which i doubt) whereas if any spl player was to sign a pre contract with sevco theyd have to incur the wrath of their own fans for the next 6 months. would any spl player be dumb enough to do that? it would create a huge ammount of unrest within the club. a.shinnies a good lad, cant see him doing this. plus hes just got his first chance for scotland he isnt going to give that up (i hope) he should wait, and sign for a god championship side, or if he feels hes good enough sign a new contract play as well as he is and get the club some moneys.

Josh Magennis's Twitter seems to suggest that Devine has properly signed. Also rumours that Chris Burke's coming in on loan and Richard Brittain's coming in as well. Both probably a load of rubbish (the rumours not the players!).
