  1. It was a leading question which I already knew the answer to and while correctly it's not about one game this thread is. My point is that I genuinely believe from your answer or part of, you're firmly stuck in the past and for the sake of your enjoyment of watching ICT and posters on this forum you need to get realistic about where we are right now and what this squad of players can achieve. We can all bleat on about the past, winning the Scottish Cup, getting to the League Cup Final, finishing 3rd in the League and getting to Europe but we shouldn't get stuck with it to the point it distorts views of this current squad. It's like Aberdeen comparing to the Fergie years or Celtic the Jock Stein years or Dundee Utd and the Jim McLean years but it gets them nowhere. Yes nice to reminisce but that's where it should end. Whether we had of seen the game out or not that was more than a decent performance and for the majority our players individually and collectively played really well. This is what the focus should be on, the good points of the game, how we contained County in the first half, how we moved the ball about, our attacking play and I see nothing from your posts that suggests this. It's too easy to pick on certain players and by now we all know your thoughts on White, change the record before it gets stuck. Would I like to see youth given a chance? Yes. Do I think we have enough quality in our youth to sustain it? Honestly no. Do I think throwing them in will be to the detriment of their development? Yes. Why? As we don't have the desired quality around them to help them flourish and progress as players and take the pressure off them At our level you don't throw youth at a problem and expect them to fix it unless they are outstanding, you give youth the experience of progressing with better players around them who can lead and teach. You like to look back so it should have started at times like when we had Draper, Tansey, Warren and the likes who could lead. Currently I'd only put Tremarco in that bracket which isn't enough. We can all have a moan and a gripe but seriously, be more realistic and you might just suddenly be surprised for the better.

  2. Oh my, we're getting awful hard to please. We are Caley Thistle, not Barcelona. Some of these guys might be shite, but they are our shite. Instead of the constant negativity, how about we just support the team.

  3. Thank you Replied to our fellow fan Alan Simpson so far better than I have ever done in the past. However you have put into this post all my thoughts and frustrations with Alan. Very eloquent post ??

  4. If we loose the replay and I don't think we will our seasons basically over if we do scrape in to the top 4 it'll just boost our coffers a bit got no chance of winning it is it time to stop playing our empty jerseys u all no who they are and give our young boys more game time see what they're made of nothing better than seeing on of our own make it

  5. I'd be having a go at them if I thought they weren't giving it everything, but I really don't think that's an issue with this team.

  6. Had The supporters trust or any group of ICT fans for that matter been in possession of the flag last night it would have been the ideal time to display it due to the number of fans in our end. It certainly would have added to the occasion especially with it being on live tv. Cutting it up would be an absolute outrage and I would have to question the motive for carrying out such an act. No-one would want a rag as a momento. The only place to benefit would be the clootie well or the nearest landfill site. Dougal

  7. We got Angus in an exchange with Mulraney but he has zero appearences for us. So, we swapped a player that occassionally turned up for one that doesn't and maybe a couple of peanuts thrown into the bargain. Anyone know what is happening with him? Has Robbo wasted a wage needlessly? Players are few and far between and it seems Beith is a drain on resources.

  8. A shame but not his fault nor that of John Robertson that his short time with us was blighted by injury. I wish him well and hope he manages to revive his career elsewhere.

  9. Whatever happens it’s never nice when a player can’t play because of injury. Feel for the young guy as it would appear he won’t be featuring for us given that his squad number has been given to McCauley.

  12. Spot on In fact there could be an argument that we may even be overachieving considering our playing budget one thing for sure is the players are giving 109% effort as did the away fans last night too as always lets hope the same level of vocal support Is heard next Tuesday.

  13. If we're playing with a similar budget and standard of player than Morton or QoS, then our past achievements don't give us any advantage. They might even be a disadvantage if fans fail to accept the new reality.

  14. Decent performance in my opinion we matched County once again but the real problem here is JR’s inability to kill off teams tactically once we get the lead. He can blame the defence all he wants but it’s the same defence tactically he sets out week in week out I think the replay is a huge game now for Robbo, he has to change something and I would start to try and play the game on the deck I just think we are too predictable and County know that now Bigger park will actually suit County next week so we can’t afford to set up the same like last night. 15. Unfortunately not as we have misplaced our recipe book. Think it must have inadvertently been thrown out with our hairdressing manual Fifty Shades of Blue Rinse. However we will have a selection of hot savoury pies courtesy of Hastie and Dyce. ??

  16. Little point in me saying it, but I thought White's inability to hold the ball up meant it kept coming back at us sooner rather than later. I thought we should have won the game and fail to see all this doom and gloom that everyone is proclaiming. That should all have been left at the Partick game where we were shocking. I'm not disappointed, more frustrated at another late concession, but once Coll went off we were up against it. Great performance from Tommy Tremarco, if we had more with his guts we would be in the next round. Still all to play for and the incentive of going to Tannadice in the next round. Lighten up folks, ffs.

  17. I think it was put quite well by whoever it was that said to me "John Hughes is more clever than most people think but he's not quite as clever as he thinks he is."

  18. Just a wee correction. At no time have I said that the club, ICT, should bring on POM-POM girls. The comparison of North American entertainment techniques to what is offered (as it seems ) at Tulloch C. Stadium was suggested to draw attention to the fact that the North American modes of entertainment with marching bands and Pom Pom girls is not related at all to ogling spectators but to precision drilling and girls who all love to perform in front of their very large and appreciative audience. These young ladies work and train very hard at their techniques and moves and to suggest that wearing short skirts is a set-up that is nothing more than a sexy turn-on is far , far from the truth. The finished product is colourful and unbelievably spectacular and represents a reflection of the effort put into training and mastery of singular move precision. Honestly it's awe -inspiring sometimes. And, let's face it, if the girls wore granny dresses instead of small costume skirts then they would hardly be able to kick as high as their shoulders now would they? And, to please IHE , I must suggest that if the crowd likes their legs as well then so what? . Circuses show lovely gals as well but nobody complains. It all adds up to a great afternoon of entertainment including great music , colour and moves. And what's wrong with beauty on show? We all like beautiful things don't we IHE? And THAT IS really what I think might be missing at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium, entertainment that is different..I suggested a well-schooled pipe band but nobody wanted that apparently. "What's up ? Too costly? Then do without and watch the crowds dwindling and /or face reality. But please try it first before condemnation raises it's ugly head I say.

  19. Have to say thought White was excellent last night and creates space for Doran and Walsh. However These two players need to play the bigman in at least a couple of times last night, as while at game was listening to radio Scotland coverage Willie Miller said that Walsh lacked composure when he lashed ball over bar ,if he had looked up and squared it to White it was a tap in. He said White as at back post screaming for it. Also commentator said he had very little service all night. The bigman puts in some shift and is constantly helping going back to help out the defence every corner and free kick. Something that seems overlooked by some fans. Really can’t understand the constant negativity he gets from some on here and on social media. Thought Ridgers Tremarco were excellent all night but in all honesty probably cost us the game by being worried about the potential offside decision instead of being professional and playing to the whistle. Last night was a battle and we as a team gave as much as we got but probably a draw was Adair result overall but was totally gutted when that late goal went in. Listened to Michael Stewart when returned home and agree with his summing up , Inverness are very good in attacking sense but leave themselves wide open in defence. On to next Tuesday now and hopefully our first win over County for a while.

    • Montrose 0-0 Inverness CT - Play Off 1st Leg
      FULL TIME: 0-0

All to play for on Saturday, but don't hold your breath...

However, if we continue like this, it will be our final game this season.

Best performer for us was Samson Lawal, the only bright spark on the field.

Alloa 2-2 Hamilton was the other semi-final score tonight. On this evidence, I doubt either side will be quaking in their boots.

    • Inverness CT 3-1 Morton - Report
It was a lovely evening for a game of football, what could possibly go wrong? Well, what did go wrong was Queen's Park beat an understrength Airdrie 2-0 at Hampden, therefore despite beating Morton 3-1, Inverness head for the play-offs. Morgan Boyes opened the scoring with a thumping volley after half an hour. Kirk Broadfoot benefited from slack defending to level before the break then proceeded to earn the wrath of the home support with an embarrassing celebration in front of the North Stand. Cammy Harper relieved Billy Mckay of penalty kick duties and duly slotted home from the spot ten minutes after the break. The scoring was completed just after the hour when Sean McAllister drilled home into the bottom corner. Robbie Muirhead had been sent off for simulation then taking a wee fit to himself and was promptly sent off after 58 minutes just after Harper had knocked in his penalty kick, probably aggrieved that he never earned a spot kick for his dramatic dive.

Well, where do you start. It was clear from the begining of the season that something was wrong. Poor signings, dismal performances in the League Cup followed by an abysmal start to the League campaign saw Billy Dodds removed from his position after winning one point in the first six Championship fixtures and replaced by a man with no track record as a manager. A sort of publicity stunt if you like. After the initial new manager bounce wore off, we found ourselves little better off with Big Dunc than we were with wee Billy. We did claw ourselves up to the coat tails of others but the most damning part of our season has been our inability to score goals, especially at home. Only already relegated Arbroath are worse than us. Our team is now full of mercenaries, loan players with no affiliation to our Highland pedigree and many fans have tagged us as being the worst squad ever in our short history. Where are the Golabeck's, Tokeley's, Wilson's..... Much of this can be attributed to our lack of financial nous in the boardroom, failed ventures and now the begging bowls are being put in place to save our club. Having drawn at Dunfermline last week thanks to Aribim Pepple's first goal for the club combined with Billy Mckay's penalty miss, it's now out of our own hands. LAST SIX: D L  W W L  D

    • Dunfermline 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Out of our hands now: It ended in disappointment for the 319 visiting fans with news that Queens Park had hammered Arbroath 0-5. To rub salt into the wounds, Sheridan and Welsh were amongst the scorers. It's out of our hands now, but it's a must win next Friday and hope Queens Park falter.  Inverness play Morton and Queens play Airdrie. A draw might be enough, but it's a long shot.

I'm not convinced that Billy Mckay was the right man to be taking that penalty, his second failure from the spot in successive games against the Pars.

Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.
