  1. I went to the shop in Dingwall
  2. The SMWS are always getting bottlings of it - I had a bunch of pals round on Jan 2 and got a bottle in for that. Seems a lot more common this year - they seem to be pushing it a bit more. Loads at Glasgow airport anyway.
  3. A real Howden Ender's dram :024: :( A mate of mine had a bottle of 25yo in a wooden box like that. Lovely stuff.
  4. I actually tried JD the other week for the first time. No wonder they fill it wi coke. Technically Smee, it's no a bourbon, it's Tennessee Whiskey which according to them is different from bourbon, which is mainly Kentucky. Something to do with slow filtering through charcoal and all that keech.
  5. I said old gits. You young gits stop reading this thread. Did you ever get a chance to drink your Glenfarclas Caley100
  6. So what have people been drinking recently? I've got a 10yo Ardbeg from the SMWS on the go at the mo. Also a Benrinnes 14yo which is getting well down, have to stop the wife from stealing it. Also a wee dribble left of a 38yo Longmorn. It was only a 500ml so I've been spinning it out for a year. Just back from 2 weeks in Canada where I decided I would have a Scotch-free fortnight and broaden my horizons (but still had a Glengoyne on the plane as it was all they had). Came back with a bottle of Alberta Premium and some bourbon but they're not in the premier league - ye cannae beat the old uisge beatha.
  7. I one knew somebody who worked in one of those sex-change clinics. A snip here, a snip there, and Bob's your auntie.
  8. So would that be the promotion-winning team or the 2002-3 team then :D
  9. Aye, rite enuff, it was Richie, not McMenamin :003:
  10. Sorry to disappoint you Kiltarlity but I wouldn't exchange tongues with a smoker no matter what she looked like..... and at my age I'm even less fussy than I used to be :003: :003: :004: :011:
  11. Had a look for a Dundee forum. The official one is not busy and footymad is quite busy. Thought they would have a busier forum somewhere. Where's Heilandee the only time you need him :004: Their match report on dundee fc online is pretty fair to us. One guy on the forum says ICT were bigger, stronger, and better footballers. Most people are just moaning about their defence and how Harkins is carrying them. They're looking forward to signing Pavels. They don't like Lionel, and they're saying he punched McMenamin when they were down. Some of them think we bought the ref :003: :003: There's a lot about Foran's free ball, most of them are raging at Foran or the ref. One guy says that Foran put his hand up straight away in apology and has told TB he didn't mean it. They've got the highlights somewhere but feck knows where.
  12. What 2 shocking errors? We made far more chances than Dundee - what are you on about, how could they run away with it? How was Harkins all over us? Proctor kept him out on the left wing and won most of the tackles. How can you control a game from the left wing? Proctor let him have too much space for the first goal but even then you would expect Esson to save it. Second goal was one of those scrambles after an Esson save. We had the very same thing second half after a Bullock save except Sanchez/Foran missed it.
  13. I saw the Cox booking in the first half - he fouled no 9 McMenamin (I think) in front of the main stand after about half an hour. Can't remember the Hayes one at all (63 mins according to the BBC). EDIT - I see Cox was reported as 44 mins.
  14. Def. Rooney at the end - not the Royster. Mind you I would have hooked Eagle for Roy at half time. Imrie needs to come back quick. I thought Sanchez, Bulvitis, Hayes and Cox looked the part. Jury's out on Stratford and I don't think Eagles is good enough. The dropped-ball- Foran just gave the goalie an up-and-under to deal with from the halfway line. A bit like Bazza's goal at Motherwell but further out. Difficult to see if he was just having a laugh or trying to score. The Dee fans also took the hump with Lionel second half after a wee tussle with McMenamin I think. Wonder what they'll make of Rosscoe then :D  Dee had 4 bookings to our 1, and loads of fouls too. Harkins looks useful. Proc just about coped with him but the stats will show he scored twice on his watch. He doesn't rely on his pace so I reckon Ross would have him. Griffiths was only on about 15 mins but nearly scored the winner with a neat wee shuffle. Apart from that he never gave Bulvitis any grief. Glad we punted Kerr - never rated him. Richie Hart had a quiet game. Away to the title favourites and we didn't look uncomfortable all day apart from the second goal, when our SPL experienced defence should have done better. So on that showing we'll be thereabouts when the trophies are being handed out, with Ross, Imrie and Eric still to come back. Feckin Tumilty was the ref and he managed to get in the way 3 times, must be a world record. I have to say I haven't enjoyed a day out at the fitba so much for ages. Great game, loads of goalmouth action. Compare it to our games with Killie, Hamilton, St Mirren and so on last year - no comparison. Happy days are here again - let's see off the clothes-peg vendors next week.
  15. Almost any of the 7 1/2 years under Pele but if I had to pick a time when it was just a joy to watch, then it was 2000-1 when we had the two Ayr gubbings and the Killie cup ties. We had a spell around xmas when we beat Ayr 7-3, drew 2-2 with Clyde, hammered Airdrie 4-0, and drew 2-2 at Broadwood before coming back from the dead to draw 3-3 with the clothes-peg vendors. A month later we were beating Ayr 4-3 after giving them 3 goals of a start. We also thumped our near neighbours 3-0 in November in the famous Christie/Boner slugfest. We had two double deckers from the Caley Club and they were rocking all the way over the bridge.
  16. We were at the Centenary both times last season. No ICT fans other than us. They usually have some deal that involves a vodka or whisky or rum somewhere, and for that reason I can't remember the details.
  17. I take your point, but 'jealousy' seems an unfortunate choice of word.
  18. From now on, for Kenny Macaskill read Buster Gonad!
  19. I hear the patches are quite hard to light.

It's a pretty fair statement to me. Compared to when I was growing up anyway, before the concept of buying your own council house was even thought of, and when only about 3% of people went to Uni...... you're confusing class with wealth. Class is cultural. I've got a family of rich builders living across the road from me but they're still neds. My old man died without a bean but he wasn't scum like some of the people I see with their BMWs and their bling. BTW I never grew up in Sneck and to an outsider it seems a fairly prosperous wee place. Try visiting Paisley, Kilmarnock, Motherwell, Methil, Greenock, Glenrothes....... Alness even.
  21. I think ICT should rent out spacesuits, say ?5 for 90 mins. A real bargain if you ask me, a packet of fags would go much further.
  22. And then played locally for the next 50 years :P
  23. The cabin boy was Kipper

    He was a f***ing nipper

He stuffed his ass with a broken glass

    And circumcised the skipper

  24. Billy Connolly is a bit like the Beatles. Most people on here will be too young to remember how good he was in the mid 70s. Even if you watch old videos from then you will not understand how ground-breaking his stuff was back then. However now he's just a rich LA luvvie and part of the establishment. Boring old fart.
  25. The other thing is - we've pretty much followed them up and down the leagues. Made the SPL a couple of years after them, stayed there for 5 seasons, dropped out, just like them. It's tempting fate to gloat in case we follow them out the door someday.....
