We nearly had one after the 3rd Accies goal unless that's what you're referring to. Might have been Warren and Fon Williams but hard to tell as the rest of the back 4 were in doing the UN peacekeeping thingy. I'd like to know what that was about, but it looked as if Nade got a free header. I'd also like to know what Yogi told them to do today. Looked really comfortable at ht, very quickly added a second and looked like carrying on to 3 or 4 nil as Accies were very poor. But decided to sit on the lead and it was all too obvious what would happen. However all credit to them for winning the game 3 times. At Polworth's winner at least 3 Accies players collapsed flat out on the Astro like corpses. Just to qualify all of the above drivel, the conditions were absolutely horrendous and McGovern looked absolutely frozen although I doubt he would have stopped any of the 4 goals anyway, although I think he had a hole in his body for the first. To round off an excellent result, Imrie got booked then subbed My iPad autocorrects Imrie to 'I ride' which will amuse a few people with long memories... On to Saturday and the Derby. Can't wait.

Campbell off after 24, Allan after 57 meant it was shootie-in for the Rose. I felt that Wick had the better quality while they had 11 men and much more possession. Rash tackle by Campbell spoiled it for the neutrals.

So did I - had to go and pick them up too, yesterday. Mrs Mantis almost let them go because she thought it would just be a xmas card with no stamp on.

To me, just as important as revamping the format, is to compress the tournament so the final is in October as it used to be. Maybe County etc are excited about having a semi in January to look forward to but I would imagine fans outside of the last four have just lost interest. Often teams have bought/sold/loaned players so the teams that got their club to that stage are no longer recognisable and also the impetus is lost. That's much of the appeal of short snappy tournaments like the Euros or the World Cup.

What a dire game. The Hibs boys looked bigger and stronger than ours but neither side created much at all. The only goal was a glancing header, totally unmarked, from a disputed corner in 5 minutes. It hit the far post and trickled over the line. The big no 4 who was marking our wee no 9 must have been a foot taller than him. No 10 looks useful but again very wee. Quite impressed by no 8. No teamsheets. The Spartans guys are usually very good but said it was up to Hibs to produce them this time so they never bothered.

No that was just me spreading panic i was worried in case the team didn't get there. I was at a junior game in Fife the other week which started 45 mins late because half the away team were stuck in cars on the bridge.....
