He he also warned me about Carbrini's sizing issues and how the tops are tiny so be aware when ordering Feck me - what size should I ask fer ? I think it's called 'darts player'

Inverness CT -V- FC Astra Giurgiu
I thought Astra were very well organised in defence and all our sideways passing came about because a) they pressed us all through the first half b) we had nobody with the skill to make a killer forward pass or take a risk at all. dreadful challenge by Drapes with two more defenders on hand and Naelifts and I were predicting a decent strike from star man Budescu as our new goalie tried to organise the wall. Second half they didn't press us so hard and let us have a lot of the ball as we didn't look likely to do much with it. Somebody at the game, maybe Ymip, said to me at half time he thought they had an extra couple of gears. Difficult to say, no doubt we'll find out next week. I thought they were all physically very strong and often brushed off our players in the tackle using upper body. as I saw it two of their players were booked late on for time wasting. A third took a dive in the box and the ref indicated this but failed to book him. A club with a bit more European experience than us but when will we get another chance to gain more??? Christie MoM by a mile. The dirty tipsy b******s were the guys in the executive boxes who picked Tansey.

Scottish Cup 2016 - our defence of the trophy!
yeah pretty much all bankers apart from Lothian who are weakened ( ) while there's been a lot of talk about Harestanes being strong and Girvan having got a bit of cash....

Astra Home Game
that's intriguing. A local Romanian? Should do a feature on him. Or maybe just a gudgie

Sorry this doesn't look right
Although he will perhaps admit that his opening line could have been better.....! As the first two posts he quotes are obviously tongue in cheek, perhaps Dons supporters don't do irony.

Roy opens cheque book again
Had my annual glance at the sleepy wee jailender forum yesterday and there was an interesting thread about their aspirations for this season. After about a page of sensible stuff it quickly degenerated into an ICT slagfest with the usual name calling etc. still, looking on the bright side - after the first week of July, word has finally reached Dingwall that we won the cup!

Nick Ross signs for Dundee
Can't blame Nicky for going, he's read the signs and sees where he is in the pecking order. Just have to have a bit of faith that Yogi knows what he's doing.

Decent shout. However given there lack of information re the plane which may now have no fans as they have all made alternative arrangements, it might not be the best after all. Draw was Monday. Today is Wednesday. Do you really think thats long enough to deal and confirm a charter let alone publicise it? Yes. The Gellions have the price for their charter, hotel and transfers publicised. do you know roughly what The Gelions are offering?

Agree it's a tall order Alex, but I would have liked some bare details such as how many nights, roughly where based, do we stay in the team hotel or find our own, even a ball park figure of cost. To be fair to the club, most of us probably expressed interest just in case the draw turned out awkward, which it hasn't.

Decent shout. However given there lack of information re the plane which may now have no fans as they have all made alternative arrangements, it might not be the best after all. Naelifts and I decided to jump too, given that I've had time for a short hospital stay (eye eye!) and still no word from the club. Anyway Edinburgh suits us far better than Inverness. booked KLM Edinburgh - Schiphol - Bucharest going out Tuesday. Also booked a hotel in Giurgiu for Thurs night which is 1/2 mile from the stadium. Grand sum of €33 for a quadruple room including breakfast and it's free cancellation anyway. So either we can go back to Bucharest after the game if there's a bus, or we can keep the booking and some of you might want to drink at our hotel before the game.

Somebody mentioned that some tims said that Giurgiu had no decent bars or restaurants. In a town of 60000? Maybe they were looking for the equivalent of the Springfield Vaults? It's right on the Danube and the hotels I looked at all seem to have airport shuttles available. However it seems too good a chance not to see some of Bucharest I must admit. I'd be tempted to have 1or 2 nights there and the last night in Giurgiu, getting there early on match day for a decent libation.

What do they think now?
As a member of Caledonian back then, I 'happen to know' that the Caley wage bill in the 91-2 season was £130 000. Thistle can speak for themselves but Caley were a far more professional club than many lower-league SFL (as it was then) clubs. Evidence being their trepidation when the draw was made for the early rounds of the Cup when they knew they were as good as out. Mind you, you're probably right in that the HL did not have the quality in depth that the SFL lower leagues had, as Caley Thistle found out in 1994 when they were getting a hard fixture every week instead of getting large scores against the weaker HL clubs and only finished 6th out of 10, but apparently some other Highland club managed 3rd that year You say that remuneration does not correlate with ability but in football, which is largely the free market, it mainly does. SPFL players are not all full time. Maybe you mean the Premiership but as far as I know, part time clubs can reach the Premiership. The bottom two divisions are part time and I know that some of them are paying only about £60 p/w. I know this because I am involved with a Lowland League club and many players switch back and forward between the LL and League 2.
