i'm not sure, this is the first i'd heard of it. Popped up on teamtalk today so dont know when the story originated. Not reading too much into it yet, always interesting to read specualtion though true, couple of defenders wouldnt go a miss, maybe Charlie is going for the 'we'll score more than you' approach to the game :tic01:

Certainly seems to be of a high pedigree. Would be a huge transfer coup if we could get him, hopefully his wage demands arent too excessive.

Ive said 8th, but i think i'm being optimistic and basing my opinion on the basis that we get another couple of decent signings in the door. Mainly another striker and a defender at least.

Plain and simple, the japanese team could pass and defend, if we could of managed those two simple things we wouldnt of been humped in such an embarassing fashion. I dont think the japanese team were anything particularly special i just think they did the simple things well and that in essence is the basis of a organised team. It didnt help that our keeper couldnt hold a cold!!! Anyone know who the reserve keeper is? Get McNeil on the plane home!

Many would disagree with you on that point, i certainly would, i think he has been outstanding for us since his return, bar one or two off games which even the best players have. Anyhoo, back to the topic in question, anyone heard anymore about these Austrian lads?

I don't think he needs to sign at least two strikers, we need one striker. We don't need a winger either. I agree with you that we need a defender. I think we were lucky last season to get through with basically five defenders in the squad. we've lost two strikers over the close season though, do you think we can honestly cope with bayne , Wyness, Mcallister and A.n.other? baring in mind the injuries we had last season, 3 stikers and a youngster isnt exactly a strong situation to be in. IMO we need two strikers, an experienced centre half and a utility player in the same mould as David proctor who can cover most defensive positions in case of injury.

I agree it would make sense for a Scot looking to come back across the border. Tom Brighton would be a great buy i think. Darryl Duffy? on loan at Swansea IIRC

not exactly prolific but nevertheless a player who has shown signs of potential. We have been known to resurrect quite a few flagging careers over the years so may well be worth the gamble. Not as a replacement for Dargo as i dont think he will be a 20 goal a season player but could be a good addition to the squad. We need at least 2 forwards IMO anyway.

Without a shadow of a doubt, ABERDEEN, too many times have they either beaten us with fluked or undeserved goals or snatched late undeserved equalisers and it gets on my friggin nerves! i really hope we pump 4 or 5 past them next season! :crazy07:

doesn't change the fact he is a complete fandango... could you imagine him and Black in the same starting 11?? If he betters the team does it matter? I'm sure many other teams in the SPL would label Black and Tokely fandango's too. From watching McManus in the past i can never say i was a fan and in fact shouted obscenities at him on at least one occasion however if he betters the team then why not!

Well thank goodness McManus hasn't got any problems with his temper(!) There's a difference with having a temper and been plain evil, i think McManus has a very short fuse, like Ian Black. Temper channelled in the right way can act as an advantage. However i think Burchill displayed pure evil that night, he set out to hurt the guy, thats not having a bad temper its pure malice.

The courier today has a story about our interest in McManus. Could be a lot worse i suppose, he did seem to spark a mini-revival in the Dunfermilne team and he seemed to be pretty creative despite being somewhat annoying at times, i suppose he's one of those opposition players you hate but is good to have on your own team. I used to think Burchill was wasted at Dunfermline and always thought he could do better but after seeing him at the tail end of last year (cant remember what game, think it was a mid week game, quite a few sending off's) make a horrific challenge which should of been a straight red my admiration for the player vanished. It was an evil cowardly challenge which could of ended the lads career.

mensing can play centre half or centre midfield IIRC, good buy i reckon, not sure about McManus though

Agreed the Premiership is the ideal hunting ground for players who really could make a difference, however i wouldnt rule the SPL out completely, Rangers seem to have some very good youth players coming through banging on the door for first team action as do Celtic and its well publicised the Hibs have a very strong pool of youth players coming through too, i wouldnt discount the SPL altogether although i'd love to see a premiership starlet benefitting us up here.
